The med techs are ALL SOOOOO smart and dependable and most of all very caring humans. No joke. They are on top of everything, Christine makes sure of it. The fine people that take care of my mom and the rest of the residents are so so hard working , kind, gentle and patient. There are too many to name and I do not want to leave anybody out. All the front people are sooo nice and welcoming too and the darling, sincere gem named Venessa is the heart and soul of this amazingly ran home for the cognitively impaired. They provided such minimal care for my loved one, someone in my family had to be there almost 24/7 to do their job. We did not trust them alone with Ed. While the ladies were nice.. they could not handle the work and tasks necessary to keep my loved one comfortable. Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and never consider this nightmare.

Following discharge from a five day stay at Sunrise Hospital for acute pain from spinal & leg…read moreissues, I was transported to this "skilled nursing facility" for care and PT rehab at the recommendation of Judy at Sunrise. Upon arrival at the facility I was taken to a room with a bed which was motorized but wouldn't work and looked decades old with an extremely uncomfortable plastic mattress. The room's furnishings were very dated and the recliner so old my husband covered it in a sheet so it could be more sanitary. The bed, the recliner and the AC unit were all very noisy from age. The room itself had damage on the wall and had the look of a much needed update. Staff was kind and courteous but my husband and I were immediately concerned when we asked if my meds had been acquired as I'd been told they would before I left Sunrise. I was also told that I'd be seen by a doctor they'd assigned to me within 24 hours. As the day progressed and still no meds were there and we realized they were past due and one anti seizure one must not be late, we asked but still they only offered excuses. My husband went home and got my meds there because we couldn't get a straight answer. I was non-ambulatory and used the call button after my husband left for help to my wheelchair to use the bathroom and kept pushing the button and no one came. This went on for half an hour and I finally tried to get to the wheelchair and didn't make it and went down when my left leg gave out. Pain was excruciating and my blood pressure was steadily going up, still no meds. CNA & Nurse were there and tried to help but it was explained to me that the ratio of patient to CNA was 13 to 1 and patient to Nurse ratio was 15 to 1. They had no time to spend with one patient. The next morning my husband came very early and still no meds or visit from the doctor they'd assigned and my blood pressure was so high the CNA couldn't even get a reading on her portable machine. We asked that I be seen by the doctor but were told that would not happen but he was sending his Nurse Practitioner since now my BP was at 191/110. The Nurse Practitioner was very knowledgeable and concerned and ordered an emergency medication to get the BP down quickly . My husband was very upset that we still had no meds nor had I seen a doctor since I was in acute pain and my BP was so high. He started to pack my stuff up and asked to have the resident Case Manager, Melissa Maguire, come to speak with us. She was very helpful and arranged medical transport from the facility to Boulder City hospital (we live in BC) where I was stabilized from the high BP and pain. I never returned to this facility and the lack of proper care is something I'll never forget. They're terribly understaffed and incapable of acute care because although they tell you doctors come each day and the paperwork you receive says you may choose your doctor, when we requested to see the doctor we never did. I asked to change from the unseen doctor Jason Gubler to any who was present and I was told no he was assigned to my care. After perusing his reviews on several websites I should count myself lucky. Don't bring a loved one here if they require acute care nor one who isn't mentally cognitive because they'll suffer the consequences. My family took me home to care for me and we employed Home Health Services and I'm so happy with my progress.

With her own room and bathroom she has the privacy she wants, with the supervision she requires. Able to go out to the beautiful grounds and not worry about getting lost. Just push the button and they come and guide her home. The care givers are great at getting her out to activities and eating her meals. It is so nice she still thinks she is out to eat and needs her wallet to pay. Wonderful you can decorate with their own things to make it really their home. So glad we found them!! Giving the family the peace of mind she is taken care of .
