My husband and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at Andante. I made reservations on a Thursday night, knowing it is summer and the weekends get busy. We were seated promptly, given a very nice booth. It was a slower evening in town, and only half the dining area was full. There was ample staff and they were on top of their game. We ordered the polenta, which was fabulous. We shared a grapefruit and prosciutto salad. Splitting it was perfect, which they did in the kitchen for a 1$ upcharge. I had the meatloaf, which was delightful. My husband had the prawns and prosciutto, which was flavorful and light. We shared the tiramisu, which was the best I have ever had. Our server was very attentive. She gave us suggestions and checked on us throughout the evening. Thanks for a delightful experience. We will be back. read more

We waited another 40 minutes for our entrees. My wife liked her shrimp pasta dish, but my chicken marsala was dried out and covered in a disgusting thick gravy. Giving this place 3 real world stars, but in reality, in eastern WA it's more of a 4. First off, the ambiance is pretty cute. It's not fancy, but it's a cozy intimate kind of feel which I think is expected for Italian dining. We had no problems with service, all was good on that front! The only thing that was weird was we asked the waiter for a wine recommendation and he told us that was all us and he was no help... not a common answer but again, eastern wa so I guess I appreciate the honesty though I typically enjoy input and think it's usually a food service requirement that wait staff understand their wine list and know how to pair it with their menu. The food was all okay. Agree it's not traditional Italian and not elevated at all. Lasagna was okay. Alfredo was subpar. Chicken parm was okay. Pasta seemed over cooked and veggies were undercooked. The desserts were all a little off in flavor, with the exception of the lava cake being on point. All dishes are quite expensive for their quality ($28 for spaghetti and meatballs?!). In general, there wasn't much open that was family friendly when we were there and this wasn't a bad option, we had a good time. Would return but not expect to have my socks knocked off. read more

After a day of pre-wedding festivities (not our wedding, but one we were in), we decided a nice relaxing Italian dinner would be just what the doctor ordered. I found Andante on yelp as the Italian restaurant closest to us that was open late(ish) so I called and made a reservation and we drove right over. The immediate ambiance was really nice. We were seated and given menus, and we took in the space. I thought that a restaurant with this vibe would be much busier on a friday night, but less than half of the tables were full which should have been my first red flag. We chatted with the waitress Favi who I asked about vegetarian options, and she basically said that if I edited the dishes, it would taste bad, which was weird. We started with the polenta appetizer ($12), he ordered the chicken piccata ($26), and I ordered the fire pasta ($25) vegetarian. While we waited, we were serenaded by the most peculiar combo of piano music, including the main song from Avitar the movie, and Dead or Alive...recorded from a baby grand. Take that in for a moment. The polenta appetizer was solid, and if we had stopped there, I would have given them more stars. I honestly had never eaten fried polenta topped with a bruschetta-like topping, and it was really decent. Unfortunately, my dinner was so horrendous, it overshadowed the appetizer. Our entrees, despite the half empty restaurant, took almost an hour to get to us. When they did, my entree was a gelatinous mound of overcooked pasta, topped with a grainy, thick, almost uncooked flour-tasting sauce and veggies. The sauce was so thick, it didn't even penetrate the pasta, leaving it completely bare. I tried to mix them together and the pasta was so overcooked, it would not be mixed. Hubby tried his dish and said it was ok, but again, super overcooked pasta, and flavors which were really odd. When our waitress came back to check on us and noticed I hadn't eaten my entree, I told her what the deal was with it. I'm not sure if maybe they were short staffed and whomever was at the helm in the kitchen just didn't know what they were doing, or they really did depend on the meat to carry the dish? Regardless I told her I just couldn't eat it, and she did to her credit try to offer me something else, but I was so grossed out by what it was, I really lost my appetite. Thankfully they did take my entree off the bill, but we were still charged $43 for $38 of food so I'm not sure what got missed there. Prices were high for the overall lack of quality and the clear lack of quality assurance on the food leaving the kitchen. This might be passable for Italian food in Chelan, but it wouldn't be somewhere I'd return to if I came back to this area. 2 stars only for the appetizer, otherwise I'd give it a 1 star. read more

This is such a cute spot! It's smaller than we imagined, but it made it that much more intimate. We did call in for a reservation but it didn't look like we really needed it. As soon as we walked in, a party was ridiculously animated and loud. There was no way to get them to tone it down some since they were living their best lives; however it was def difficult to have conversations with my partner. The couple behind us kept trying to shhh the group and the couple beside the group moved away. The service was pretty good. Our server had to ask us for our order twice because they forgot it. I liked that they acknowledged that they should've written it down; we gotta give grace when we can. The food was definitely just okay. I'm a fan of Italian food and I wasn't blown away by the food. The bread was delicious, though. We ordered tomato soup (ok), mussels (meh), chicken piccata (lemon/capers took over), prawns and prosciutto (bae loved this!), and lava cake (superrr chocolate-y). For my friend's bachelorette weekend we wanted one night with a fancy dinner. I had heard of Andante from a friend who frequents chelan and made a reservation. When you sit down you're in a very intimate setting. The restaurant is not too big so they can focus on each individual guest. We loved this. The herbed bread, oil and vinegar you get to start is amazing. So much flavor. I ordered pasta and it came with a good sized portion and was flavorful and rich and delicious. As a table we ordered chocolate lava cake and bread pudding. The price was reasonable for great food. I would definitely return. read more

Just finishing dinner here and it was fantastic! My husband and I both got the Italian salad which was delicious. We ordered the lasagna which was spicy and was so tasty. We got here at 5 pm which paid off as service was amazing. We got our bread quickly and then salad and wine. We finished the meal with the Italian love cake which they make here and it was divine. So, can't speak for the other dishes, but our were the best! It was decorated for Christmas and was absolutely beautiful. Nice, quiet, beautiful and delicious. It's definitely a 10 for us! read more

probably the worst dining experience I've had in years it was super unfortunate. I ordered a blood orange soda and it was just a cup of cream. We were brought bread which was nice but it was cold, dry and stale. We ordered the chicken piccata and chicken tortellini. The piccata was supposed to come with angel hair but the pasta was not angel hair. For $35 the portion was TINY like a child's portion. The pasta was sour and tasted off. The chicken was fine. The chicken tortellini was terrible. $35 and it was disgusting. The pasta was like Olive Garden but way worse. The chicken was so dry and tough I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. I told the waitress the chicken was over cooked and I didn't eat any of it. She took it away and instead of comping my entree took off my $3 coffee from the check.. also the Chianti was $14 for a small glass of cheap cheap Chianti. SO OVERPRICED. We had a very nice nice dinner here last Friday. It was designed to be one of two nice dinners during out visit. It did not disappoint. We asked the server the size of their side salad and order one of the three of us; it was just the right size and he did a nice job describing the size. The Caesar was excellent with a wonderful dressing, just the way it is supposed to taste. 'The salad was a perfect way to start the dinner. We each ordered a chicken dish; mine was the fire pasta and their others order chicken Piccata and chicken Marsala. All of the dinners were cooked to perfection. I was warned the fire pasta was hot and spicy; they were not wrong. It was very good, but a bit hot for me. My mistake; I should have taken their warning seriously. We ate and finished our entrees. We split the hummingbird cake for dessert; yummy. Fortunately, they filled up before me and I got to finish the dessert. It is a cake we have not had before and plan to remedy that deficit. We ordered a bottle of the Mellisoni Sangiovese; it was the right choice. Good fruit and just enough body to complement the pasta dishes. The price of the wine was close to the retail price at the winery; that pricing makes it so much easier to enjoy good wine in a restaurant. We had good service; our server let us know when he could not answer our question about the wine. 'Thank you. He did a nice job and we had a very nice dinner. I really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't happening. Everything from the service to the food was below average. The waitress was friendly but too slow! We sat down for about 30 minutes before bread was brought to the table and our order was taken. It took over an hour for them to bring us our meal after they took our order. We ordered apps, but even that took forever. M As for the food... I tried to feel better about it was not authentic at all. Comparable to Olive Garden at best. The salmon, which was recommended to us by the waitress, was far from fresh, tasted like the frozen kind that I put in the microwave. To top it off, they put feta cheese on it, now that makes no sense! The Tuscan stew was ok but flavors were off, over seasoned with dry oregano. I guess that was their version of making something an "Italian" dish. Finally the chicken Marsala... The worst of all. The sauce was sweet and again flavors were off. Each dish came with a little potion of pasta ... Again, just blah. We saw other tables with seemingly great desserts but we didn't order because we didn't want to wait a another hour. I really want to give this place 5 stars but the Fire Pasta was meh. My husband got the lasagna and it was amazing. I kept stealing pieces of it off his plate! The martinis are fun and very well made, they don't skimp which is awesome. We also enjoyed the peanut butter pie which was a perfect send off for the night! As to the fire pasta, the chicken was great. It was crisp and crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had thought fire pasta would mean chili, Cajun, garlic, or peppers. I was not prepared for siracha and Frank's red hot sauce. It was a heavy, heavy siracha/Frank's red hot sauce with very little cream in it. Don't get me wrong, I love siracha on popcorn, fried rice, and buffalo wild wings, but this was like eating spoon fulls is siracha and Frank's red hot sauce with nothing to balance the dish...it was just sauce from a bottle. I love spicy I dash cayenne in everything, but this dish just lacks balance and flavor in my opinion. It could be so great, but it left me extremely sad. read more

We ordered the Pasta Bolognese and Chopped Salad for two to Go. The ordering was easy and pickup quick and safe. The salad was drenched in dressing; next time I will order the dressing on the side. The Bolognese was okay; not much flavor which is surprising for an Italian dish. The white bread was fresh and soft. True to their word, we were just pleasantly surprised to be sat in the cutest booth in the restaurant (featuring fresh roses!) We were expecting a quick meal after a day of driving and were instead treated to an amazing experience of pasta, wine, and even live piano at one point!! Absolutely would NOT recommend. Being Italian, this one is hard for me to write, but i will NEVER be returning. My friends and I decided to come to Andante in Chelan for my birthday dinner and that was a mistake. To start, we had to wait 15 mins just for a host to greet us even with a reservation and no where to sit. Once we were seated it took quite a while for us even to get drinks in. The food was overpriced and the pasta was over cooked, but what was worse than the food was our server! Truly felt like she wanted nothing to do with us the entire night. My friend was nice enough to mention it was my birthday and her response was "oh" only 10 minutes later for the table next to us to get a beautiful birthday dessert brought to them with a whole birthday celebration from the restaurant. Honestly ruined my birthday. She brought us the check with no regard of the special night we were celebrating. I've never had a restaurant treat a birthday with such little regard. This is an incredibly intimate dining venue. They can only seat approximately 50 at a time so I'd definitely recommend a reservation. We were greeted at the door by a very bubbly server and seated at a freshly laundered linen table cloth covered table. Water and sliced rosemary bread accompanied by olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping arrived very quickly. Our server recommended a "gooey, cheesy and delicious" fresh artichoke dip. After such a description how could we say no? It arrived as described bubbling and overflowing with cheesy goodness. Along with toast points for dipping. We could have made a meal of this alone but we restrained ourselves and brought half of it back to the hotel. We ordered a bottle of Eisenhower Malbec which as usual was delicious and well suited for our meal. The wine list is extensive but not boorish with a wide variety of grapes and prices. For salads we went with the house made Caesar which was absolutely delicious. Definitely a home made dressing and the romaine was cold and crisp. For main courses my wife had the chicken Alfredo and had the chicken Parmesan. Both were properly seasoned and the pasta was cooked Al dente. The tomato sauce on my chicken and accompanying pasta was a little spicy. Just enough to make it different and delicious. Definitely recommend and will return for sure. read more

Stopped here on July 20th. Definitely recommend reservations. Jordan was our waiter and he showed us a wonderful time. From perfectly crafted cocktails to Ceasar salad with made in the kitchen dressing and not something poured out of a bottle. Everything was wonderful. Delicious baked Brie to italian dinners that were absolutely perfect to a wine list that wasnt way over priced. This place is a Gem. The staff were all happy and friendly which is always a good sign. Nice setting. Server was nice. Even brought my daughter a sample of the marina so she could make sure it wasn't too spicy. But that's where the good ends. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS PLACE IS AT 3.5 STARS! We ordered: Spaghetti and Meatballs- the pasta was okay, sauce was okay (nothing spectacular), Meatballs had a funky unidentifiable taste. Penne primavera with shrimp- the Alfredo sauce was not homemade it reminded me of the sauce that's on pastas in microwave meals, or from a jar. It was blah and not cheesy at all. The vegetables in the primavera were large pieces of carrots and broccoli. Who puts carrots in pasta?! The shrimp were squishy, like parboiled, not grilled. Fettuccine Alfredo- same thing with the sauce. Yuck! The chicken was also soft/squishy, like parboiled and not grilled. When the server came back we had the fettuccine Alfredo to the side as no one could choke that down. He asked what was wrong I explained. I was only looking for that meal to be removed (not all 3 that were crud). They didn't remove any from the bill and the fettuccine was hardly touched. We paid $83 for some of the craziest food I've ever had. Very disappointed. If you like REAL Italian food I do NOT recommend this place. read more

This was our first visit to Andante and we were amazed at the decir, service, beverage alcohol, and cuisine! It was simply perfect! Dana and I ordered aperitifs before dinner. Dana enjoyed a Hypnotiq Cosmopolitan and I enjoyed a Bombay Sapphire Martini with two olives!!! We ordered the Warm Brie appetizer that included fresh fruit and two different kinds of crackers for $10.00!!! Fuggetaboutit!!! We ordered Tortellini with Chicken and Prawns and Prosciutto Pasta with a Wedge Salad!!! We paired the food with a Ruffino Reserva Ducale Chianti Classico that was a 2011 vintage. Outstanding on both accounts!!! Unfortunately we were unable to sample the Tiramisu dessert which had been sold out prior to us ordering it but it looked fabulous!!! Throughout the COVID crisis they have been offering a free meal to anyone who comes up to the parking spots in front about once every two weeks. They never run out, they will give you as many as you need, and they expect nothing in return. Mediocre at best... overcooked fish, underwhelming pasta, overly spicy marinara sauce and very average chicken. The vegetables were so over steam that they had the consistency of baby food. Everything was under seasoned and the Alfredo sauce was watery. Kind of felt like I was back at my high school cafeteria. I'd come back for the cocktails, but I'd skip dinner. read more
