We had an awesome experience at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market. This location is right in the heart of the action, a two minute walk to byward Market 1015 minutes to Parliament buildings. There are lots of great restaurant options in the area also. As mentioned in prior posts, there are significant homeless issues on the west side of the city block. But the east side seems to be complete normal for Ottawa. Service was so friendly. The breakfast was awesome, the rooms were pretty nice and have excellent views of the city. There is a great rooftop lounge with great city views also. For those requiring parking, there is a city parking garage that is covered and half the price of the Andaz, just one street east of the hotel, very convenient. Just ask the front desk and they'll tell you the address. I'll definitely come back to this location the next time I'm in Ottawa!

I wanna start off by saying that the view is absolutely breathtaking. They really have the prime location. Everything is very close from this location and you can see all of Ottawa downtown. This is not a review for the hotel rooms but the restaurant on the last floor. I want to specifie this because I heard that there is a restaurant on the first floor. I would not called this a restaurant but more a quick drink area. We have made reservations for a group of 30 people. I would absolutely not recommend for food. This is the perfect spot for a drink to enjoy the view. Great first date! We started by ordering charcuterie board. Three small pieces of cheese 3 slice of meat. We ordered one for every table. Lots of bread for the amount of cheese. There was also some random blueberries and strawberries... we ordered thinking that four people could share it as an appetizer... absolutely not! There was nothing wrong with the meat or the cheeses they tasted amazing. I just don't think the quantities for the Price, are justified. we followed by ordering artichoke dip, Caesar salad, beef Tartare. That should be enough for two people right? Wrong again the tartare was serve in different plates from a person to another. The size was different from one to another. The tartare was about four bites. I forgot to take a picture of the Caesar salad It was three slice of romaine lettuce with some 2 thin croutons and a little parmesan. The artichoke dip was red and tasted nothing like it should've. I would've given zero stars for the food. I felt absolutely ripped off and hungry not a good mix. However the view is very worth it and I believe that if you just come to enjoy a drink it can be a beautiful experience.

Overall a nice hotel. The service is subpar and be aware of booking there until the construction is completed. I booked a king room with a view. My view was of a construction site that started early each morning. They refused any discount. I also got charged for dining that I did not approve and should not have been charged to my room and the hotel has been unresponsive in refunding my card for dining I did not charge to my room. Also note, blackout curtains are not a thing and the AC cannot handle the heat, so you will not sleep comfortably here.

Best location in the center of the market! Room's clean. Staff are nice! One thing that bothers me is we came back from the market after drinking probably around 2am. And there were a few young people wandering around outside the hotel gate n trying to get in, but they certainly didn't live there. As they didn't have keys to open the front door. Made my friend from Vancouver thought Ottawa downtown didn't seem so safe. At least manage one or two male staff stay at the front door is better than leaving only one female young lady work during the night shift. That's not it. When we arrived our room, there two young people sitting on the hallway chatting in front of our room. They didn't seem have a room either, but how did they get in? They probably like to enter inside bus it's cozy and warm, quiet, better than being outside. They stayed at least up to two hours before I fell asleep, they were still there. Which means, the security didn't pay much attention on CCTV either. I hope this review will ring a bell to hotel managers and fix these problems.

This is the only hotel I like to stay in when I come to Ottawa. Perfect location to walk around ByWard market and the team here is an amazing!! Love being able to text if I need recommendations or if I have any questions, not something I see often. I always feel safe here as you need your keycard for the floors. Also there are two restaurants here - Copper Spirits and Sights on the 16th floor of the hotel, it's a rooftop patio with a beautiful view of parliament and the market; also Feast + Revel (the latter I have yet to try though). Make sure to get a room with a view of parliament, it's beautiful!! We had the pleasant surprise of being able to watch fireworks from our room (a summer thing I'm told and the first time we experienced it) but this was a nice little bonus this stay! The only thing I'd say is I'm not a fan of the parking here, as it appears to be a public lot on the side. $20 a night but pretty standard for the area. Doesn't deter me from always coming back though!

Stayed here with the hubby recently and also in the past the service never disappoints If you're looking for a 4 Star hotel with an amazing downtown view of Ottawa and Parliament Hill this is perhaps the best place to stay at. It's in prime downtown Ottawa location almost everything is close by and in walking distance. Super convenient and in my opinion it's a definite 4.5 star experience for me! We decided to treat ourselves as we work very hard so we wanted to take a road trip to Ottawa and spend the weekend here. We normally stay near the airport as we don't very much like crowds but this time it was a treat and we could not pass up this place. The hotel lobby is elegant and appealing. Valet service is not included and poses an extra charge however it is super convenient to have the service as you just want to get rid of your car and come in to your clean and tidy room waiting for you The service: Super friendly and genuine. They made sure to bring our luggage for us to the room kudos to the bellboy and check in staff very sweeet and kind. Room service was great and definitely happy about it. Lots of amenities I didn't quite have time to use!! The only CON is it get very loud and disturbing on Saturday as we're in prime dowtown location near the Bywward market so at around midnight-4am it's very very loud and you can hear everything that's going on at night and the surrounding bars & nightclubs. You would think they'd have sound proof walls for such a high end hotel at this caliber. Nonetheless, it was quite nice and will keep in mind not to book this place during the weekend. Will definitely come back during the week perhaps if necessary. It's sweet but also a tad pricey. Avoid saturday's it's very hard to sleep they even give you ear pieces but they don't stay in your ears throughout the night. Cheers

DO NOT COME IF YOU HAVE A VEHICLE! There is no place to put your vehicle when you get here. You must manage your own transportation TO and FROM this hotel. Again, they DO NOT have parking here. No shortage of homeless people nodding off on their drug induced states. One barked like an animal at my kid as we walked up to the lobby. Nobody there was happy about this place and I'm personally confused as to how they received 4 stars. I doubt the reviews are on the up 'n up and the "OWNER" submitted images do not in any reflect the condition of this hotel as it currently is today. The design of the room I'm writing this review from is Kitsch at best. I'm pretty sure the "art" and furniture are salvaged from other closed hotels. I give them credit for attempting the entire Artsy-Fartsy thing, though the execution is flawed. The sheets and pillow cases are stained and filled with holes. Curiously the wrinkles are ironed in instead of out. Baseboards are dirty, the garbage can has no bag in it, no towels in the room, Exposed wires in the lighting, stains in the carpets... We paid about 6 times more than this place should be. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm going to try to check-out now. Good luck!

    Cool finishes throughout the room!

I found my new hotel when visiting our nations capital! This cool, modern, almost Miami type vibe hotel has it all! Amazing views from its rooftop bar, happy hour in the lobby bar, right down to it's great service from the staff. The Andaz will please you. The rooms are cool chic, with brass and copper finishes throughout. Lighting is plentiful as is the large windows overlooking the market, parliament buildings and the Laurentians to the north. I lucked out one night and had the best view of the fireworks display!! Why not a five star you ask? While the room price is fairly priced, the valet is $35 bucks which I found steep considering the number of parking options all within a few minutes walk, a small point but the cost adds up!

Is this broken or was it installed like this?

I really don't understand the hype about this place. I'll give it to them that the design of the room was pretty hip with current, instagram-worthy furniture. The rooftop patio/bar is also a cool amenity, but I'll leave that for a separate review. This hotel looks like it was built by an amateur general contractor and budget architect. The outside of the hotel looks like a cheap condo. The parking situation is an absolute disaster - four cars bumbling around a cramped outdoor lot looking for a spot that will never come. The lobby is incredibly cramped for how busy it is. The elevator situation (three only, and they are very slow) is atrocious - you should not have to wait for two elevator trips to ferry people up to their rooms in an ostensibly 4-star hotel. The finishes in the room are literally misaligned - did the construction team even bother to use a level? The white paint is essentially primer. The shower drain looked like it was assembled out of discarded sheet metal, and included mildew. The table my laptop is sitting on right now feels like it is going to fall apart at a moment's notice. The bed was comfortable, but there were only four small pillows for two people. This hotel was designed for instagram - flashy, impractical, and lacking attention to detail.

I unfortunately didnt take pictures of the actual room of this place even though I was there for a few days . I was lucky to get room 1401 ( you would definitely want this room) and the view was magnificent, the staff was outstanding. I can't give it a full 5 for the following reasons : each time I put up the heating it reset the next day so I woke up always freezing , I arrived during the before last day of red zone and the next day everything reopened except here at this hotel in regards to the gym ( but that's okay ); but even though the staff was super nice, normally when you go to a hotel, the receptionist normally has small talk to see where you're from or suggests activities ( even if it's outdoor ones) except I didn't get any of that and that's okay . I am supposed to be coming back to Ottawa in the upcoming weeks but not sure if I'll stay here or try a different place , but over all really nice experience :) Ps. Super covid friendly -- hand sanitizer at entrance , pixie glass between receptionists and client , max 4 people per elevator ( also key activated as well so super safe for single women like me travelling alone )

Had a great stay here for Canada day!! Very safe lots of security at the lobby. The room was modern and clean loved the bathroom too big glass shower with rain shower head. Best view! Also all the pop in the fridge is complimentary. They have a valet only parking but it is a bit pricey, it's cheaper to go to the paid lot across the street.

The concierge wasn't in at the time of our arrival and check-in was seamless. Soho Champagne communicated with me prior to check-in to ensure all my questions were answered. Plus, this place is conveniently located near Little Italy and Chinatown. I wished that we were able to stay longer. There are 3 reasons that I knocked off a star. Before I get into these, I'll mention that I was given a number to call if I had any problems with the room, but I didn't think any of the problems were worth calling about. First, the remote to open the garage didn't work from inside the car (maybe low/no battery?) and I had to get out of the car each time to get the garage door to open. Second, upon check-in I took a shower and there were 2 long and noticeable hairs stuck to the wall of the shower. Finally, I could not for the life of me get the TV in the bedroom to work. For the price of the room, I'd expect a bit more attention to detail in these areas. All in all, we had an amazing time and would definitely stay at Soho Champagne again.
