It's a beautiful area don't get me wrong and beautiful property. The leasing office always has temps and they never follow up. There was numerous miscommunications since we have moved in since the temps don't really have answers for the residents every time I call for an update they state " I'm only a temp try calling back the following day " that's if they answer the phone. Still 0 stars. We were promised either a credit or a free cleaning session when we moved in back in August. We moved in to absolute filth and still crickets to this day. Our floor is coming up (not the first time) and suddenly our oven stopped working. We submitted a request and even called and left a message. No call back nothing, but yet they post a message the same day hours later about the influx of trash cans being left out... our drawers still need to be fixed and the paint from our front door still need to be fixed but we haven't heard a single thing in months. We really regret moving in, it seems the only way to get in contact with them is through a review since that's what happened the last time. read more

If you want to have hidden charges that result in false documentation that lead to you being sent to a debt collection agency, then this is the place for you! I cannot explain how disgusted I am with Anden Greystar and their quality of service. This shouldn't be that surprising as I just received a class action lawsuit against them from someone in a very similar situation. If this doesn't scare you away then I'm not sure what will, but if they offer you the "$1,000 off your first months rent", just run from it. This is the wonderful charge they hid from us and then sent us to collections for! So really, if any slight inconvenience happens (move out early, rent responsible, break your lease) they will make you pay it back, but not tell you about it, and then send you documents that do not even include this "concession" payback. So when you go to dispute it with the collection agency, they won't do anything about it because they won't label the $1000 as a concession, but a "late payment". The front office staff is an absolute joke. Don't even try calling their office because they don't answer. Their HR also does not return phone calls or emails. They take what seems to be countless numbers of breaks throughout the day. You have to stand outside of their office and wait for them to return, which is never at the posted time they have on the door. Maintenance may be an even bigger joke than the office staff. We had a doorbell that didn't work from about the second month we moved in, and they never came to fix it. We also had horrible spider problems that they "sprayed" for. Never once saw pest control come out. There is dog poop all throughout the property, college students who do not clean up after themselves, and parties every weekend. It was such a miserable experience living there, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Please take this review as a sign to find not only a cheaper community to live in, but one who actually cares about the residents living there. Extremely inflated prices and a horrible office staff that scams you of money once you move out. read more

Anden Apts is a great community to be part of. The office staff has always been kind and supportive. Tim the office manager does a great job staying on top of business. I see Albany helping out new move ins with professionalism and patience answering all types of questions. Peter the maintenance supervisor is a great guy, he is very knowledgeable and is the best with maintaining the property to its highest standard. I got a divorce after 28 years and had to move from my beautiful home. I thought I was going to be depressed being in an apartment but this is the coolest place ever. The grounds are gorgeous and the pool is sparkling clean with an amazing BBQ. Every time I have any problem, the staff do anything and everything to help me. Peter is the man! He is so knowledgeable and personable and I trust him so much. Thank you all of your help - Everyone is so friendly and nice. The parking situation really should be worked out a bit with the hotel in the back - maybe some negotiations for some more spots?? That is the only downfall as it is hard for visitors to find a spot at all and the towing company trolls the hotel parking lot to make money. read more

Couldn't ask for a better team. Tabitha, Christopher and Peter have helped to create a resort styled living space. Their attention to detail and helpful accommodations have made the consideration of "temporary" housing a possible "permanent" choice. They have approved some of the coolest neighbors. They always make sure we have everything in brand-new working condition. The team is always coming up with community activities and special promotions with neighboring businesses. The property location is convenient for transportation and food choices. Although residents have a lot of garage space provided for their cars, guests might find available parking spaces a bit of a challenge. read more

Neglected repairs during the course of my family's stay. Frequently falsified reports saying maintenance repaired items that are not even attempted. Closed work orders, put orders on hold, and frequently stalled months at a time with simple requests like paperwork. Maintenance tried to coerce a positive review since the first experience was terrible when we asked about our repair request status or concerns they "resolved". Many an issue they never fixed was marked completed and we spoke up and they did nothing. After over 12 months here I do not recommend any person with mold allergies or asthma or concerns for safety rent here. We made accommodations even putting our animals in a crate during times they could make repairs and giving notice of the schedule, changed medical appointments when they said they would come , completed the move in sheet( make copies for your records I suggest), returned it and it's not anywhere in their online system. They had us in a place knowing the oven wasn't working and heat and still didn't have any urgency or apologies even after their negligence caused many injuries to my family and Medical bills. The automated system response from yelp is nothing more than show. Management never took our concerns as a priority and still for months we suffered. More than 35 initial service requests. The amount of issues is unacceptable for "luxury". Rodents, mold, water damage( especially in the closet where the roof is dripping damaging designer clothing), cheaper Non Greystar aka Greystar luxury slumlord managed places would not be as bold not to make repairs and smile at people knowing what their actions have caused. read more

I absolutely adore the floor plan and townhome style apartments. We looked far and wide around the San Diego area to find anything close to this floor plan but nothing cut it for us. However, after moving in our experience is completely different. There is surely a wow-factor to this place with 10ft high ceilings and other beautiful finishings, but I wish I could say that they were installed well. We are the first tenants in our townhome and there has been one problem after another for the past month. Whether it is the garage door not closing to the linoleum floor puffing up, we have been keeping busy. We also just realized that the heat in our unit isn't working. The maintenance folks are polite but somehow I don't sense any urgency from them no matter how important the task at hand is. I would like to add that perhaps management isn't delegating the tasks to maintenance in a timely manner. The only person who consistently has our interests in mind is Christopher. I wish I could say the same about other staff members. read more

I moved into Anden in March of 2021 paying $3,174 for a three bedroom townhome. When I moved in, it clearly hasn't been walked through - it was missing electricity in the entire upper floor, was missing cabinets in the kitchen, and was dirty with plenty of scuff marks on the walls. The vinyl on the floors began peeling and they hadn't done any work to make the unit better in the time that I was there. I lived there for about a year and a half before moving out. I can honestly say that this is probably the worst community I have ever lived in. It is extremely expensive, there's feces everywhere, and there is a homeless emcampment under the overpass. The management and staff are nice but are essentially useless and extremely unreliable. They don't communicate well and rarely get back to you in a timely manner. Don't be fooled by their mention of solar panels. You'll be paying for them! When I first moved in, I had created an account with SDG&E, not knowing that the community partners with Conservice. I paid three months of bills at roughly $30 per month with SDG&E before receiving an electricity statement from Conservice for roughly $300-$400 per month for usage. When I compared the bills, I saw that Conservice charges both "electric commodity" and "electric distribution". You're paying off their leased solar panels. When I asked the leasing office why the bill was so expensive when SDG&E charged only $30, they couldn't answer and referred me to speak to Conservice's customer service. When I called them, they couldn't answer either. I have never in my life dealt with so many issues with a rental property. When I moved out, I had to fight the cleaning charges and did so with documentation from when I moved in as well as move-out photos and videos with time and date stamps. I had to reach out to the regional manager and corporate office to argue my case and forwarded my information as well as a substantial amount of email traffic proving everything. I eventually had the move-out charges waived. I also should add that they tried to charge me a carpet cleaning fee after replacing the carpet in the unit which tells me that someone is likely pocketing that money, as they called it "regular costs". When I moved out, I also learned that they increased the rent for the unit that I was in from $3,174 (what I paid) to over $4,000 per month. At that price, you might as well buy your own house and stop feeding these people your hard-earned money. I would not recommend this location to anyone, unless you're looking forward to dealing with feces all over the place, high electricity bills, lack of communication, and high rent prices. read more

I've lived here for 6 months, and am not thrilled for the remaining 6. Myself and roommates have 4 cars total, and all work late hours and leave often as Realtors. Parking is ridiculously miserable, and to make it better, they reserve 2 spots for maintenance making it even harder!!! I've been told numerous times they are working to improve the situation, as they progressively made it worse HAHA! Also, you must pay rent with a check because if your rent is over $2800 you get to pay a cool $80 debit card fee online :-) don't live here, I can't wait to leave. read more

This place is cheaply made and the staff is unreliable. Front desk was never available for phone calls or walk ins- even on their emergency hotline. Maintenance requests would sit in the portal for weeks without a response until I was forced to go to the office to complain. The flooring is extremely cheap and lifting and we were told upon move in that they would be replacing all of it. This never happened. Our garage was a constant issue, to the point of the garage bar falling out of the ceiling. There is never a consistent employee at the front desk, a bunch of temps who have no clue what they are talking about. They gave false move out procedures and then threatened to charge lease cancellation fees because we wanted to turn in our keys two days before move out. This went against everything Tim, the head manager, had to orginally told us when we put in our 30 days. Extremely disappointing to see how this facility is run. read more

First off please be aware most of these pictures are not for the ANDEN apartments in San Marcos. We love the layout, but there were an obscene amount of items in disrepair, disarray, dirty, not working, and not usable on move-in. We knew this to be a red flag but after talking to several neighbors we learned this is a great place to live if you don't mind things not working and no repairs being made for months at a time. Staff is friendly, The complex is dog friendly and it seems everyone has a dog which is nice. I highly suggest you document any repairs that are needed and send the repair request via certified mail because after living here for seven days with no access to a working stove or oven, a wash machine that is filled with mold and mildew smelly and dirty, a microwave that smells like smoke, toilet seats that have no working toilet seat covers, and literally 15 other items that are put up for a maintenance request including the fact that we had rodents on move-in and the areas for the rodents to travel are exposed under the sink and also the sink is leaking and dripping. With 21 maintenance request and being a first time moving an hour for seven days you would think that at least one or two items would be seen as a priority seeing as how right now we cannot cook our own food, wash our clothes, or sit on the toilet seats without the tops flying off. Management was unresponsive. They did not respond to any of the maintenance requests electronically through their system, said nothing, no kind of financial compensation was made although legally they are required to provide a habitable unit and we could all agree it is not habitable if you cannot eat or use the restroom comfortably. We have real estate lawyers and hopefully we will get this resolved soon. Otherwise great location close to everything, nice floor plan. My experience is that nothing on these reviews from residents seems exaggerated we also have pieces of the floor bubbling up and we just moved in. There's that uneven feeling when you walk on laminate and dents in the floor under the carpet throughout the three levels. Our apartment was not clean on move in. I highly suggest you take photos and videos like we did of every single thing moving in and carefully fill out the checklist because a lot of things were wrong and they will definitely charge you when you move out pretending it's your fault when obviously if they don't repair things this is just their bait and switch tactic. They are waiting for you to move in and love the place, and hopefully you won't make mention of the issues that aren't repaired and then when you move out they will turn around and try to charge you as if it is your fault. Hopefully I can update the review with something more positive in the future it is only been one week. So far we still have 21 work request no working stove or oven. read more

He communicates well as to when he will be here and is very kind and patient during any service repair. Since moving in, my roommates and I have had to submit multiple maintenance requests, and every time Peter is there asap to fix it! The floor plans are great and so are the large garages. Wish everybody used their garage to park their cars in instead of storage. Then maybe the parking problem would go away. People park everywhere. Even in front of signs that say tow away. Never any spot for guests to park in. The trash in the common areas is never picked up. Dog poop everywhere that never gets picked up. Trash cans are left out all week for everyone to drive around and look at. You get the feeling that management doesn't care. read more

So, you could imagine the response/service you might receive after they've locked you into a lease! I really dodged a bullet. Found a much better place to rent. This is a typical example of "customer service" in California/San Diego area. It sucks bad! These complexes act like they're doing you the favor instead of realizing that their renters are doing them the favor by renting there. We have lived here for a year and love it! The homes are stunning, the landscaping/pools are kept clean, and the location is in close proximity to restaurants, parks, highway, gyms, etc. I've read other reviews regarding parking- we have 2 cars and visitors every other day and have never had parking trouble. The maintenance manager, (Peter), is always on top of our maintenance requests and gets things done quickly! Friendly staff, easy going neighbors, beautiful homes. We have several friends in the community, and they all love living here as much as we do- definitely recommend! We are so glad we found this place. read more
