I have lived at Millcreek for the past 5 years. I moved into this unit as a first-time single mom without even viewing the apartment because I was desperate to get out of my living situation at the time. Looking back, I'm so grateful I ended up here. Management has changed over the years, but I have never once had a negative experience with the staff. They have always been kind, respectful, and helpful. I've had some frustrations with the lack of parking and some of the community rules, but I also understand why they are in place. Every apartment community has rules, so that's to be expected. They have even given me courtesy more than once when I was at risk of being towed (thank God!)--which was completely on me for oversleeping. I've also never had any issues with maintenance or service requests. Things have always been handled appropriately, and the property itself has been well maintained. Most importantly, I have always felt safe living here. In my five years, I have never had an issue with packages or personal belongings being taken or removed, and I've always felt comfortable having my son here. The only real downside is the late-night freight train, since the complex is right next to the tracks. A white noise machine definitely helps, though, and I've been able to sleep through it. Traffic can also be frustrating when trying to get out of the complex during peak hours. My advice: don't turn right unless you want to potentially sit at that light for 15 minutes! Overall, Millcreek has been an amazing place for my son and me. This community gave us a safe and comfortable place to live while we got back on our feet, and we've made so many wonderful memories here. Me and my wife had a wonderful 3 year stay. The move-in process was very welcoming and we felt right at home. We did some extensive research and found that it was the most valuable decision we made while being cost effective. Millcreek Apartments fit our every need from its location to its wonderful community that it fosters. I enjoyed seeing my neighbors and the occasional visit to the leasing office to turn in my rent. After living at MillCreek Apartments for over 18 years, my husband and I finally moved out last month to relocate to Palm Springs. Obviously much has changed over the past 18 years but other than the annoyance of trying to get in and out of the complex caused by the Sprinter station next door, the majority of changes have been positive. I will start with the positives: *The 2 bedroom units come with a washer and dryer. This is a huge perk. *The management and maintenance staff are top notch and repairs are done correctly. *The management, including the complex manager Natasha, go out of their way to try and accommodate tenants requests (ie, scheduling repairs, etc, when we would be home) *The gated entrance provides security and definitely cut down on the noise at night *The units are constantly refreshed and kept up to date *There are events throughout the year by management to bring everyone together as a community *We ended up living in three different units within the 18 years and Natasha (who has been there throughout a lot of that time) has always been incredibly fair regarding any expenses. Now the negatives: *Traffic getting in and out of the complex onto Santa Fe due to the Sprinter station can be frustrating. *There is a back gate but it is kept locked (probably due to the lack of a key card system) so the only entrance/exit is through Santa Fe. *Parking is a serious issue. We were assigned one spot and we paid a reasonable fee to lease a second reserved spot which totally worked for us but there is absolutely no visitor parking if you enjoy entertaining. Overall, we enjoyed our time living there and we have very little doubt we would still be living there if we hadn't relocated. Considering all that you get for the rent that they charge, it is definitely a bargain. read more

This review is well overdue. I am a current resident here and have been since February. The staff is extremely professional, helpful, and quick to respond. The ladies in the front office are always so polite and ready to help with whatever you need. Ms. Sandra often goes out of her way to have fresh baked cookies available. Ms. Ruby is always smiling and friendly. I can't praise them enough for their upbeat and professional attitude, especially during these tough times. The maintenance staff is fantastic as well. We've had minimal issues with appliances and the gentlemen who work on them are always quick to respond, professional, and respectful. When my husband and I had issues with our fridge, I was pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call after it was replaced to ensure everything was in good order and we didn't need anything further. Throughout my life, I've lived in different complexes and have dealt with many different styles of management. Millcreek definitely stands out. While we still shopped around for places to live, I did notice a lot of negative reviews about this community, so it made us skeptical. But after interacting with the Millcreek team and living here for about six months, I'm happy to report there is nothing bad I can say. I usually don't write a review for an appartment complex, but I have been living here for a good 7 months and so far everything has been great. Management responds really quickly and maintenance is good at coming in to fix problems. Application to an apartment was fast and the unit is great for the price. The only cons I wilould say is finding parking if you come home late since you get one reserved parking per apartment. It is manageable but it can sometimes get stressful when we have to park outside. read more

First of all, you must recognize that you are in a large complex that is right next to the train station. Expect noise and no extra parking. These apartments are decent. There are things I don't like such as the lack of central AC (would pay more in rent for that perk) flooring/bathroom light covers that fall constantly or the 300 page lease (at least that's how long it feels) but they are reasonably priced for the area and for what you are getting. The staff is friendly (the maintenance guys are awesome and quick to jump on any issue), and they have made quite a few changes to the complex, like adding a playground, cleaning up the pool, etc etc. What I appreciate is that they are always looking for things to do for the residents, which I have never experienced in any of the complexes I have lived in before. Goody bags on your door on your birthday, first day of school they have breakfast at the gate for those on their way out-it's simple, but kind. My kids like to go visit the office just to get a cookie or a piece of candy, which is another nice little thing they do. Overall, it's okay. Not where I want to be for more than a couple of years, but not as bad as some of the other reviews make it out to be. read more

While it was an okay price for the area, it did not include any utilities so it pushed us over budget. Overall great customer service and fantastic help from Ruby! I don't recommend living here. Like many of these reviews, I wouldn't give these apartments one star if I didn't have to to write this review. My husband and I lived here for one year and could not wait to leave! We are so stoked to be out of there. 1) Parking SUCKS, good luck finding a spot if you get home from work after 7pm. You're going to find yourself parking at the sprinter station across the way which isn't too safe if you're walking late at night. I never felt comfortable leaving my car there, but I didn't have a choice. They make you fill out a survey to "improve" their parking policy, but nothing is ever done and nothing will ever help. They simply do not have enough parking. 2) Bugs everywhere. It's disgusting. 3) Stray cuts running around and screaming at night. 4) Office is very hard to communicate . Better yet, they don't communicate with each other. If you call to answer a question one person will say something and another will say something completely different. It took more than a week for someone to show up to do maintenance on a leaky faucet. Don't bother. I do not recommend! :) read more

My gf and I have lived here about a month now. Having issues with my gfs old place had me look further into reviews here. Many are old and out dated. For example the management team seems to be relatively new compared to some of the reviews. The current team has been very friendly and informative. Yes parking isn't ideal. So far I've had to park at the sprinter once. Which really isn't a bad walk at all. And Ruby made sure we understood fully the obligation on our part and theirs concerning parking. There are complaints about the train. Personally the sprinter doesn't bother me that much. However, the freight train that comes 2-3 times a week in the middle of the night is quite bothersome. I would like to point out that I knew there would be some noise from the sprinter that was expected. I do not hold it against Millcreek at all. They didn't build the train there and we chose to move next to train tracks. If this is something you can't deal with then don't move here but I thought it unfair of past reviews to hold it against Millcreek. Moving in walk through was great and Ruby made sure we checked everything and was thorough with the inspection. Maintenance is submitted online. And we were taken care of promptly with the kitchen light going out. They definitely do try and instill a sense of community which I haven't really participated in as of yet. In summary thus far management and maintenance has been five stars. I gave four because it's only been a month. There are things that may make this place unsuitable for some people (train, parking, weirdos outside of the complex itself) this is not something to hold against Millcreek. read more

There's a washer and dryer in every 2 bedroom, maintenance is very quick to fix any issues big and small, management is quick to reply and extremely friendly. They have a kiddie park with a playground and field, pool, and onsite laundry mat. It is all gated and security patrols the lot at night. The neighbors are friendly and I like it here. read more

Fortunately, I didn't have the tragedy of living in this disgusting apartment, but I had friends that lived here and I actually even started the application process to live there. Natasha is absolutely the rudest, most disrespectful, disgusting, lazy person I've ever met. She is a liar and she doesn't care about anybody except herself. Carol is probably one of the sweetest older ladies I've met and she genuinely spent a lot of time and hard work getting myself and my family approved to live in these apartments, while Natasha was on vacation. It took over two weeks for me to get approved due to Natasha being on vacation, even tho Carol told me that Natasha would be "working". It doesn't make any sense to me that the final person to approve your lease would just disappear on vacation for 2 weeks but oh well. I was an active duty Marine at the time trying to move in and due to some personal issues back home I ended up in a debt and with a low credit score, while explaining the situation to Natasha even tho it wasn't her goddamn business but she wanted to know, she makes a snarky little remark "yeah sometimes people make decisions that affect them and their families" it was the most backhanded remark directed at me, and it made my blood boil. Being in the military, I don't make a lot of money, so I had to get a paper approved for my lease to get my housing allowance early. Just the way Natasha wrote up the lease confused everybody but she wanted to act like I was the dumb one after asking her to explain it several times. She's a selfish crook and only cares about money which is cool but she definitely shouldn't be in any type of leadership. It took several days for my housing allowance to get approved but she literally wanted me to put down half of the first months rent plus a few other fees which were over $2,000, I tried explaining to her that I was waiting for the Military to approve anything and she said "oh just borrow from somebody" like who the hell am I going to borrow $2,000 from. This woman is literally the most rude out of touch person I've ever met, just read her replies to the bad reviews and good reviews, fucking stupid bitch. I've been living here for over 3 years and I love it. My apartment is beautiful!! 2 bedroom, 2 bath, washer and dryer. I've never had any issues here and the 2 times I had to call maintenance they were here within 24hrs to fix it. Natasha, the manager is very friendly and professional. Every year on my birthday I come home and find on my door a little bag with a "happy birthday" note and some goodies. Yes, parking is limited but you do have your own parking space. I am a current resident here, I have to say I am happy with my apartment, being that it was me and husbands very first place and was given an opportunity by these very nice ladies to lease an apartment here. I am not originally from Vista so it has taken us some time to adjust to the area. Our apartment is very close to the train tracks so occasionally you will here the sprinter swish by and also the late night freight train ... it doesn't bother us but I can see how it could be a nuisance to other residents who might have small children. I would love it if there were Central AC .. the unit is in a strange area next to the fireplace but at least there's AC. I DISLIKE the washers and dryers in the laundry mat .. they don't wash very well and the dryers forget it, we just wash elsewhere this is the only downside in my opinion! Otherwise we love our apartment and the ladies in the office are all very friendly... the pool has been closed right in the middle of summer which sucks but I know they don't have control of everything and that's OK. If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Definitely not even worth the 1 star. We lived here for over 2 years never ever making any problems and always following the rules and making out payments on time. The apartment itself is so outdated. Literally all they do to an old apartment is repaint and cover the holes. We moved in because it was an ok price for what it was. Let me just tell you about our experience and our moving out experience. 1. They will tow your car the second you leave. Without even calling you or anything. Management gets a good chunk of the price for towing. Which is why you see Natasha the Manager and her employees drive nice cars. 2. The apartment is literally right next to the train! They don't tell you this but the fright train comes 1130pm-130am every night and blows the horn as loud as it can and it shakes your whole apartment and you hear it loud and clear because the windows are so thin and outdated. 3. There's so many pests in the apartments complex, we've seen roaches, spiders, mice and ants! It's so gross! 4. The parking... so they give you an assigned parking and 1 permit sticker so you can park in a permit spot. If you have a friend visit they have to park in your spot or they will get towed. The parking here is a nightmare and there way of fixing it is "hey we'll charge you an extra $50 a month for a parking spot. Again them just pocketing all that extra cash. Horrible people. 5. Right across the street is a crack house, we constantly got crack heads and crazy people in the apartment complex. You'll hear them screaming and walking at night. Ugh!! 6. Our move out experience. We left the apartment as clean and fixed and organized as you can possibly imagine, we even hired a professional cleaning company to clean so we can definitely get our deposit back... but guess what it's been almost 3 months and they haven't returned our phone calls or emails. Finally at the 3rd month they answered and said "there's no refund to give I'll send you an email" so we thought "well why wouldn't there be a refund when we left the apartment in better condition than when we got it." So we got the email and they broke it down and added all there "fees" and at the end there saying that there's no refund to give and we have to pay over $200 of remaining balance! These people are nothing but crooks they want to pocket every penny they can from the tenants. Please don't move in here. If you go inside out of curiosity please read this review and watch everything will make sense. If you can afford an extra $200 move somewhere else. These apartments are not worth it. read more

Horrible place to live with horrible noise, absolutely no parking, horrible traffic everyday, "no dog's", horrible management, extremely rude residents that complain about every little thing. Dead bees litter my home and parking lot daily, train goes by 22 out of 24 hours in the day and a freight train comes at around 2 or 3 am everynight. This place was great at the beginning. The maintenance staff is amazing. However problems started to arise toward the end of my lease. My neighbors got a puppy that was barking nonstop keeping me up all night. Management said they would do something about it but I just barely slept for about 3 weeks. Then when I turned in my keys on my last day, I moved out a month early because of the dog, I was told because I am moving out early and paid the lease through, and somebody was moving into my apartment on the 18th that I was going to be getting a refund of around 500-600$ . I kept trying to follow up on that and finally I got ahold of the manager after being told I would be called back for about 3 weeks. Basically she said I won't be getting it bc reasons XYZ and the person who told me that "misspoke" And didn't have authority to tell me that. Sounds like a whole bunch of BS to me. But whatever. If I could not give a star at all, that's what it would be. I went to Millcreek to apply for an apartment and was provided the application. I completed the application and provided the $100 holding deposit and was left in a waiting game for two weeks. When I contacted them, the office manager Natasha was very rude and unprofessional. I really wanted to say some not so nice things to her, but I was in a position of need. From the start I was told that they were behind on their application process and it would be Thursday before my application would be processed. Well Thursday came and went and no communication. It was finally Monday I called the office to be given the call back in an hour spill and that hour turned into 24. Finally contacting Natasha, I'm told that she wasn't able to process my application in 72 hour. I was referred to Millcreek, although they lived there long before the nasty crew now. I would never refer anyone to Millcreek as long as Natasha is there. She is by far the most nasty person I have ever had to deal with. Beware before going to Millcreek Apartments. read more

I've lived in this apartment complex for 4 years now and I seriously love it here! The location is great--freeway and major stores nearby. There is a gate and security at night for safety. The management is great and very friendly. If you need to contact them they're ready to help and get back to you quickly. They truly care about their residents and it shows when they do things such as community bbq's, movie nights, and coffee and snacks available in the office. The main reason for my review is the maintenance team. Although I've only needed to contact them a handful of times, they are seriously amazing! They come in, assess the issue and have a plan within minuets. They fix whatever needs to be very quickly and efficiently. read more

Horrible moving out experience. We left the unit sparkling clean, and everything just the way we got it. We had it professionally cleaned as well as the carpet, and they still want to charge us for the replacement of the carpet and a cleaning fee. I was expecting to Get the full refund back since we invested so much time and effort into leaving the apt spotless. I called and called for about two months with a "I'll run this with the manager" response. Finally after almost 3 months after moving out they have the audacity to still want to charge us over $200! We've never had such experience when moving out from an apt. Another thing, over the years we lived there management won't hesitate to tow your car. I had my car towed a couple times and had to pay $300. The towing guy says management gets their cut every time they tow a car, so they're always looking for a reason to tow you. Horrible!! So far, I like living here. The management and maintenance staff have been very friendly, courteous, and professional. They respond promptly to calls, emails, and requests. It seems really quiet within the community and I haven't had any problems with parking, even for my guests. I don't even hear the sprinter but maybe my apartment is further from the station. The apartments are very cute and spacious, and overall I found them to be well-maintained. Maybe a lot has changed in a year? Either way, I have not found what the previous reviews say to be true. I absolutely hate this place! DO NOT MOVE HERE. I ignored the reviews and i truly regret it. Lived here for 2 years and thank god our lease is almost up! First night we moved in was a nightmare! It was in a downstairs apartment(we requested due to having 2 toddlers) and the place looked great during the day but once we came back from shopping for food at 1am(time we finished unpacking) the place was COVERED in cockroaches! The walls, windows, our couches, our beds, EVERYTHING. We we're so disgusted and horrified. We couldn't even put our kids to bed and it was a freezing cold night. We we're moved to a hotel for a week(while they bombed it) and still tried to put us in their! I requested a different building/apartment and since the lease was already signed. The Staff is terrible/rude and watch out if you ever want to bring family or friends over! They MUST be parked in a guest parking spot and out of all the apartment complex there is only 10. If not your cars WILL be towed(Good luck trying to find some). Also watch out for the NEW staff,(Asian & black chick) they will give you attitude and care less about your concerns/complaints. Kids are always playing outside, running in the main street with no supervision and they don't even bother notifying their parents. Their is a loud train that will wake you up every night or every hour. And if you have a problem in your apartment, they will say they fixed it but you will see they didn't and you will have to pay. I lived at Mill Creek apartments from March 2016 to May 2016 and it was the ABSOLUTELY WORST 2 months of my life...I would have given Mill Creek Apartments 0 stars if it allowed me to...so I gave them 1 star under protest! My apartment was constantly over run with ear wig bugs and spiders and I would have to CONSTANTLY knock MULTIPLE bugs off of my front door daily before I could go inside. (I wish I could post pictures of the bugs on my front door as I had MANY pictures taken) My apartment had a constant musty/moldy smell in it and I was accused of having a cat while I was living there because the smell was so horrendous when I moved out. I was told dogs weren't permitted only cats, however, I witnessed approximately 6 - 8 dogs in the 2 months I lived there. The patio screen door was NEVER functional, although when I could get maintenance to come fix it, as soon as they would leave, I would try to close the screen door only for it to be broken again...maintenance attempted on 3 different occasions to fix it and when I moved out it still wasn't fixed! The manager Natasha was very nice and easy to deal with, however, Chris was the most incompetent individual I have ever met and unfortunately she is the one you will mainly deal with. Parking is HORRIBLE!!! My son and I worked crazy hours and when my son would come home at 1 or 2am from work, he would end up having to park at the transit center next door and was constantly being harassed by transients...I feared for my son's safety when he came home late from work! In addition, the so-called security gate was never functional....in the 2 months I lived there, it was broken more than it worked...so much for our safety and security! The washers and dryers in the laundry room were FILTHY...I would have to clean them before I could use them...I ended up just taking my laundry to a laundrymat because the laundry room was so nasty! I could go on and on with negative comments, however, I'll simply say...RUN, RUN IN ANY DIRECTION BUT IN THE DIRECTION OF MILL CREEK APARTMENTS, suffice it to say it is the NASTIEST apartment complex I have ever encountered!! read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!! When I first moved into this complex I thought that all of the negative reviews were just disgruntled individuals who were complaining just to complain. After 19 months of living here I have realized that I could not have been more wrong. The interiors of this complex have appliances that are advertised as "brand new"..maybe they were brand new in 2001. The management staff is subpar at best. They show no concern or sense of urgency when something is wrong. I had to wait 2 days for maintenance to address a potential gas leak. They will charge you for every single cent they can squeeze out of you. They will tow YOUR OWN CAR from the spot that YOU PAY FOR every month! I cannot tell you how many residents, myself included, were wrongfully towed and had to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket as a result. The parking situation is terrible and management has made no real efforts to fix this whatsoever. When you move out, they will rob you of your security deposit no matter how much effort you put into cleaning the apartment and completing everything on their move out checklist. Of a $500 security deposit, I received less than $90 back. Mind you there was no damage done to the apartment whatsoever. When I moved in there were several things listed on the pre-inspection to be fixed that never were. The rent is significantly higher than it should be. You can get a much nicer apartment in a much nicer area for less money. I was a resident of this complex for 19 months and never once had any rent payment issues or complaints filed. I can honestly tell you that these bad reviews come from your average run of the mill renters, not already unhappy complainers. I must say that I have lived here for 7 months and the experience until now has been pretty good. Today, however, I step out to go to my car and to my dismay it was gone. I called the office and they nonchalantly told me that it was probably towed because there was no sticker in it...it is a brand new car by the way. They didn't even have a record of it being towed nor had any attempt been made to notify me as the resident. Both the experience with the leasing office as well as the towing company has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately for me I am still under lease or I would be leaving this place in a heartbeat. Stay away if you don't want your property taken!! read more

I like that there is always good events for the residents. Everything that needs to be fixed is fixed the next day. Today we have movie night in the park and tacos. I love living here! read more
