I could not be more pleased with my experience with Anderson Florist. I ordered 3 arrangements, 2 florals in vases and 1 plant basket for a vigil at Bentley University. I ordered online after hours the night before the vigil and then left a message about needing them delivered before 2:00 pm. I asked them to call me in the morning if this would be a problem because I could pick them up instead. The woman who called me in the morning, Amy, was amazing! She was so caring and sympathetic to the situation and assured me the flowers would be delivered on time and would have extra pink in honor of the young student whose vigil it was. Amy called me several times throughout the morning giving me updates and working with me to ensure the arrangements arrived to the correct location and on time. I was told the owner, Liz, may actually have been the one to hand deliver. The floral arrangements were big and beautiful!! The perfect splash of color on stage. We ordered a funeral spray from Seattle and then went in to add some lilies to it once we arrived in Waltham. The spray was created by the owner, Liz, and it was truly beautiful. They delivered the spray to First Lutheran and was there in place when we arrived for the service. Their price seemed more reasonable than others we'd checked. They are kind and talented! Worst customer service ever. Received Holiday floral arrangement in poor shape. Dead or dying flowers, greens falling off the arrangement, candle which was bleached, looked like it had been sitting in the sun for a year. Called the shop to inform them of the problem and asked them to correct it. They told me it had been 4 days when it had only been 2.5 and they could not do anything about it. I selected this florist because of its proximity to my family. The process was unnecessarily complicated as they called three times after I had been verbally told that all was fine. They were disorganized, incoherent and rude. There are other florists in the area that are better put together. I selected Anderson because I was given a choice by Teleflora. I was told everything was fine and then was called three times. Then I was called by the driver and he asked if he could leave the flowers. When Teleflora called to apologize that the flowers would not be left, I was aghast that a driver would take back the flowers and called to confirm. Teleflora tried to get them to follow through. If you want a nightmare, speak to three different employees and be told all is fine when it is not- go ahead. read more

I needed to order flowers very last minute for both a sister's graduation and a sister's birthday which were both on the same day. I called up Anderson Florist because it was the closest one to the university in which my sister was graduating. The woman on the phone was very pleasant to speak with. I told her what it was I needed and she was very helpful in guiding me to make a selection of what was within my budget. I arrived an hour later and both the flowers for the graduation and birthday were ready to go. They did a great job and the flowers were beautiful and smelled it too! The woman at the counter was very friendly and remembered talking to me on the phone. I was amazed that they were so busy on that day because of all the graduations in the area, yet were able to put things together for me in about an hour so they'd be ready for when I picked them up en route to the graduation ceremony. My parents wired a mixed bouquet of flowers to me for my birthday through Anderson, and the flowers were absolutely beautiful. They used a great combination of color and variety, adding some of my favorites such as hydrangea and gerber daisies. They were meticulously packaged, with each flower having a little plastic water-thingy on them. I was impressed. Rarely do I get flowers delivered to me where the 'wow' factor was so huge. Went here for roses on my anniversary. I called in ahead of time so they would be all set for when I got out of work. When I got there, the roses were BEAUTIFUL. A friend from out of state sent me an arrangement. Rude delivery! Flowers cold damaged. Arrived home around 7:00pm. A few minutes later someone was at my door, ringing the bell frantically. I opened to find a woman shouting at me and pointing to the street. I couldn't understand what she was trying to say. In the dark, I had no idea what it was all about. It seemed like some kind of emergency. A moment later her coworker arrived with a floral arrangement. Apparently they had been calling me to arrange delivery and had left a message. The flowers must have been in their car for hours, because some of them were already dead and the rest died within two days. There must be a better way. read more

I'm very upset I even have to leave one star for this "establishment." Ordered flowers for Valentine's day through teleflora, and this was the company they must have sent the order to. I specified I wanted the flowers delivered before 2, seeing as though the recipient works at an elementary school, and that's when the school closes. Flowers were never delievered on Friday. On saturday morning I get a phone call, asking if they can deliver the flowers, since they were unable to on Friday. Are you serious?! where was my phone call on friday?! Not to mention the school is closed, but I ordered my product for Friday NOT saturday. The nerve. I went to Anderson Florist yesterday to get roses for my parents' anniversary. I think I've walked by this place a hundred times and never been in. The florist working the floor helped me choose the best roses for my money and arranged them beautifully. I went with Anderson's Florist for my wedding bouquet. I had a consultation with a gentleman and left instructions on the colors of our weddings, the colors and types of flowers I wanted, crystals to go on the base, and even a color swatch of the orange our wedding colors were based off of. When I arrived the day before our wedding to pick up the flowers, the bouquet was RED and there were no crystals. My sister was the one to pick up the bouquet and did not realize that the colors were off. When I came home, I noticed the colors were all wrong and called Anderson's to see if I could bring in the bouquet and have them fix it. The person I spoke with on the phone was very rude and adamantly insisted that I had never specified what color orange I wanted and that there was nothing they could do as they were closing in an hour. My Mom had to march down there with OUR OWN orange roses, which we luckily had plenty of extras from the centerpieces, and had to demand that they fix the problem. They stated that in the florist world, the brick red roses we were given are considered orange. The worst thing about their bouquet was that even after placing it in a vase with water overnight, the flowers were limp and brown (theirs, not our) by the next morning and my bouquet looked like crap on my wedding day. I started using Anderson Florist about 6 years ago. I live in Denver and wanted to send birthday flowers to my mother in law's office in Waltham which is how I stumbled across them. Considering I only call once a year and wouldn't consider myself a "regular" customer, they always make me feel like I am! Not only do they remember me but they also remember my mother in law! They have consistently sent her the most beautiful bouquets and have accommodated every request I've ever had. (I.e. Not sending anything fragrant, color choices, timing) They have excellent customer service and are so knowledgeable. I will continue my annual order because they have without a doubt proven to be an amazing florist. I would give more than 5 stars if I could! read more

They're the best. I go there for flowers for my wife. The bouquets are as varied as you'd like. Lots of unusual flowers. Also they're very fresh. Probably the saddest bouquet of flowers I have ever seen. 10 tiny, cheap tulips (saw the same for $4 at Trader Joe's today- really... jammed in a vase with a little bit of cheap greenery. Sent as a gift through Telefloral so I assume the sender paid at least $50. I called the store and to their credit they offered to bring 10 more tulips and that the ones I received were so sad and ugly because they were probably left outside at drop off. Delivery guy brought me 10 more tiny, lame tulips. I give up. Maybe if you go in the store they can produce a decent bouquet, but this was a total rip off. read more

I would not use this florist. The last 3 times that flowers were purchased here they died within a matter of days. Flowers should not die within 2 days. Completely unacceptable. Not to mention the prices they charge are very high. The last time it happened, I called and asked for a refund. The lady over the phone told me that they do not give refunds but can remake the bouquet for me. I explained that the occasion has come and gone and I don't want another bouquet that will die in 2 days. She finally agreed to give me the money back. The next day, my husband went in to get a refund and she again told him the same thing that they do not give refunds but she was making an exception this time. After she refunded his card, she then proceeded to tell him that he can no longer do business with them. Very very very rude customer service. DO NOT use this florist. Just awful! read more

I'd recommend Anderson Florist for several reasons. They KNOW how to make an amazing arrangement of flowers. They are very creative and meticulous with the way they create bouquets. I really appreciate them for their expertise. I worked there for a couple of weeks during Valentines Day last year as extra help behind the scenes, and I never saw them selling flowers that were "sad" or "droopy". If anything, they had very high standards for the care of their flowers. If you need a quality florist that is reliable and family-run in the Waltham area, go see Anderson florist! read more

I recently received a number of different bouquets, and the one from Anderson Florist by far lasted the longest. They took care to individually place each stem in florist foam, so it helped to keep the shape of the bouquet well after a week and kept the flowers thriving compared to just a vase full of water. Bottom Line Up Front: if you live in MA and are looking for a florist I DO NOT recommend Anderson Florist in Waltham. I feel inclined to share my extreme disappointment with Anderson Florist in Waltham, MA. My parents sent flowers to be delivered today using next-day delivery (which you know is not cheap!) to my 2 year old daughter because she hasn't been feeling well. The florist attempted to deliver mid-morning/afternoon but my husband and I both work outside of the home and nobody was there to receive them. I called the Florist at 5pm after work once I received their voicemail to explain the situation. The first response I received was 'when can we reschedule for tomorrow during the day'. Apparently they don't often deal with customers with both parties working outside the home?!?! After a lengthy discussion, the girl I spoke to finally offered to deliver them at 630pm (after the store closed) but apparently expected me to praise her for doing so and made it clear she was not pleased to provide what I felt was a reasonable response to what must be a fairly common problem... Nobody being available during the day for home delivery. Tensions escalated and she threatened to cancel the order multiple times. She then hung up the phone on me. I will say, there are always two sides to a story and I recognize I was not as pleasant towards the end of the conversation as I could have been, however I cannot imagine hanging up on a customer and found it to be completely unprofessional and rude. I called back repeatedly and eventually spoke to her brother. He was much more helpful and professional but stated the order was cancelled and it is now the responsibility of the florist my parents used in Ohio to find another local MA florist to deliver a different arrangement tomorrow. I am simply shocked that in this economy a Family-owned Small business doesn't 'get' the importance of customer service. One disgruntled customer will tell everyone they know about their negative experience, just as I'm doing right now. My family has owned their own Family-Owned Small Business so I am an advocate for Small-Businesses, however the service and attitude I received tonight would NEVER have been tolerated!! The lack of professionalism and customer service is very disappointing and this company will not get my business again. Shame on them! They ruined the surprise, the gesture, and have generated a lot of unneeded stress and re-work to order with another company. Sadly, had they just done the right thing and delivered the flowers, I'd be their biggest supporter but they had a choice to make and chose the wrong one. Anderson florist in Waltham is one of my favorite place to get flowers. I highly recommend it to everyone out there that love flowers. Flowers are beautiful and Im very impressed with the arrangement they put together for me. I asked all my friends and family to send me flowers only from this shop because I love everything about this place. The people that work there are very kind to me and helped me picked out flowers for my wedding too. My wedding bouquet was amazing!
