Recently I took a gold chain in to Anderson Jewelers on Eisenhower Drive to be repaired. When I went to pick it up they gave me a completely different one back. I questioned it and they said it was mine. The chain they gave back to me was very thin and light so I immediately knew that wasn't the chain I brought in and I said as much. The one I had left there was much thicker in density. I've had that chain for 45 years so I was positive it wasn't mine. My advice is to take a picture of the item you are leaving to be repaired like many other jewelry stores do. I was also quoted a price for the repair but when I went back they charged almost double what they originally quoted. I went back a second time to ask if they had found mine but they kept saying the one they gave me was the one I brought in. They were almost rude about it so I will not be returning. I had been a long time customer at another jeweler in town for many years, until recently when they really disappointed me with a huge estimate on a repair (on something I bought from them less than 6 months earlier). That combined with the fact that I have dropped major ching with them and they still look at me with disdain when I enter. So I decided to check out Anderson. It will be my new go to spot. They did the repair for 1/3 the estimate of the other joint, and did it in 2 days. They have a good selection and reasonable prices. They also buy gold on the spot. My only complaint was employees not wearing masks, which I found odd. But yet very nice people. I will be back. read more

Attempted to have a watch repaired by them, but even the person that called me with the estimate sounded shocked at the price. I made one phone call and located a jeweler that offered an estimate (with a guarantee) that is nearly one third of what Anderson quoted. Oh well, I did try to stay local. Definitely not a middle-class-friendly establishment. read more

I've had Anderson do a few repairs to things over the years and they've always done great work. Last week was extra nice though. I had a pair of very nice diamond studs reset into a lever back setting. They turned out beautifully and I am 100% sure I got my same diamonds back. (Something other jewelers don't always do.) But the best part? I drove into Savannah at the very end of the day to pick them up. I called and let them know I was coming. I got stuck in traffic near the store and just when I was ready to give up - Will Anderson called to see if I was still coming. He kindly waited until I got there, gave me the earrings and closed up after I left. He told me he was 4th generation - and with that kind of gracious service on a Friday night, I suspect Anderson's will be around for a long time. Thanks! read more

Rude and snotty. Just looked at me. Way overpriced for silver Tiffany ring sizing and refusal to size a ring. Will never spend one dollar there! I worked in a jewelry store for many years. I would never treat anyone to feel the way I felt. Only one lady was kind to me... Also re-repairing a bracelet they had already repaired and broke first time trying to wear it... At least at no charge. Hoping my mother who is a regular will pick it up for me so I do not have to feel like a poor lady with no money to spend... Savannah, GA... I left my watch to have a new battery put in. When I went to pick it up, I gave my name and said I wanted to pick up my watch. The employee didn't say a single word - just picked up the watch and threw it on the counter. I picked it up to look at it, and then he announced in an unpleasant tone that it was $10. I pulled out my credit card, and he announced in a surly voice "$20 minimum for credit cards!" (I had not been told this when I dropped it off. Fortunately, I happened to be carrying cash.). His entire manner was unpleasant, and he acted like I had ruined his day by coming in. read more

I have bought several things from Anderson's...also several repairs. I brought in a gold chain to be soldered ($25) and it broke several weeks later after wearing it once. I was told it was a different link and that the chain was inferior ( although I was not warned if this when I initially brought it in). All I got was a shrug....very disappointing! I will not return. read more

I brought my brand new engagement ring to them to be resized. I've never done this before, so looked to them for their expertise as jewelers. Upon their advisement they resized it to 6.25 from 7. I picked up the ring the next day, put it on and then later realized I couldn't get it off. It was stuck on my hand for 2.5 days until they reopened the following Monday. After waiting the weekend I came back to them to have it cut off. In doing so a pavé on the band fell out. They handed me the cut and broken ring and expected me to leave! I asked them to put the ring back together and help me find a solution to make the ring fit. The entire time they seemed utterly disinterested in helping fix the problem with the owner walking away from the conversation and refusing to talk through a solution. A few days later, handing me the "fixed" ring, they said I could expect the diamonds to fall out again, worried by this statement I took a closer look to see they had bent the millegrain detail, placed the pavé incorrectly and scuffed the band. I had to ask them to redo the pavé and polish the band, which they did VERY reluctantly, and then the owner had the audacity to argue with me about the whole debacle. It is extremely disappointing that around such a happy time, these people took no effort to properly advise me, or to fix their mistake or to even be gracious about everything. Now I have a ring that still doesn't fit and is damaged. I don't know if it is a lack of skill or professionalism or both, but be warned, they are not pleasant to work with and lack integrity. read more

They are crooks and should not be trusted. I went there one the Saturday before Christmas to sell some old jewelry; a necklace, two sets of earrings and a ring, just to make a little extra cash for the holidays. The guy at the counter tested and examined each piece individually and informed me that all of the diamonds were CZ's and could only give me $100.00 for the entire lot for the weight of the gold. I figured it was not worth what I expected so I just left the store disappointed. I informed Tanya and she remembered that I purchased the earrings for her from A & C jewelry many years ago. I told her we should go to Levy Jewelers to have them appraised and they did there own tests and confirmed that the diamonds are real. He estimated the diamonds worth at almost $3000.00 alone. I was excited and astounded at the same time so I went back to Anderson's to talk about the mistake that had been made by an employee at the store. I asked the person who helped me earlier to see if I may talk to the manager and he informs me that he is the Owner of the store. I told him what Levy Jewelers determined and he re-examined each diamond and tries to scratch each piece with a tool and looks at me and says he made a mistake but he is not really purchasing diamonds at this time. I was so taken aback by his lack luster apology and nonchalant attitude that I just collected my items and left the store fuming with anger. I'm sure he can make quite a lot of money exploiting people that come into his store not realizing what treasure they have to offer but not n this case. Please pass this along and forward to everyone you know that this guy is not trustworthy nor should you do any business with this person in the future. My next stop will be the BBB. If you have any other suggestions on how to get the word out, please let me know. Do not let this guy take advantage of another person. read more
