Was given an appointment. Definitely recommend calling ahead unless you don't mind waiting upwards of 1 hour as a walk in (based on my observation). There is a language barrier with certain nail techs as I asked for a round shape and received a rounded off square shape. I'm quite easygoing so it didn't bother me. Besides, the work was well done. Both myself and my man were content with the results, though I did have one complaint. The nail tech I was assigned made my nail bed bleed when they were removing my cuticle on my thumb and it was quite painful. Typing this review 4 days after the fact and it still stings. Honestly with all of the glowing reviews I was expecting more. I sat down in the most uncomfortable chair for a pedicure, the massage options were broken and the massage that I could turn on was for 2 minutes and then it stopped. I had to ask for pillows because of how uncomfortable it was. Then, the pedicure was rushed and she cut me twice because there were people waiting. My massage was literally a minute long and this was one of the worst pedicures I've ever gotten in my life. All of the other nail tech's were very detail oriented and it seemed like maybe this one was new. Every time she would cut me I would say ow and she wouldn't stop. I'm really disappointed in this place, especially because it's so close I could walk to it. From the moment I walked in the place was humid, hot as a sauna, and lit by fluorescent lights. Not exactly relaxing. The ladies were extremely rushed, did a really poor job on my nail paint (left gaps, dinks, uncovered sides), left gel to harden underneath them, and didn't provide a good experience. They were in such a hurry to get home that they cut out all the music and tvs and left me in awkward silence for about 25 minutes before I was done. After just moving to Austin, I had been searching for my go-to pedicure place. The search is over, because I've found it! When you walk in, the mood and atmosphere of this salon is comfort. The floor is pristine, chairs are beautiful and very comfortable, and the music is soothing. This was exactly what I was looking for. The staff are very attentive and helpful--I was offered coke, water, diet coke and they got me into a pedicure chair immediately. The pedicure was the best I've ever had--they were running a grand opening special with 20% off all services, so I upgraded to the Milk and Honey pedicure. It was great--absolutely the best foot and leg massage of any nail salon I've ever been to. The honey scrub and paraffin wax left my feet feeling like a baby's bottom. After over 15+ minutes of leg and foot massage, I felt completely relaxed and like a different person. I'll absolutely return, this is by far the best pedicure in Austin! read more

Lan does PERFECT Gelish manicures that look so good, people often are like, "Really, those are your nails?" She's an artist. If you like little designs or embellishments on your nails, she's again really good at it. They have a regular & deluxe pedicure, so pick your price, but it's typical nail salon price for the basic- I can't remember exactly, but they do have them posted, which not all places do. There are 3 women who work here all the time and all three are so sweet, so attentive & oftentimes really fun. Anderson Day Spa is convenient for me, it is literally across the street so it makes sense for me to go here. Prices are decent, color selection is pretty good and the service isn't bad at all. I also like that they have the plastic liners for the foot spa as sanitation is a key factor for me (it should be for everyone). They have never been all that busy when I've gone in so I haven't ever had to wait. To sum it up, this isn't the kind of place you drive across town for but if you live in the general vicinity then it is a worthy option to check out. read more

After an 8-hour drive returning from Louisiana from a weekend spent with my boyfriend's family, I needed some me-time. I left my slightly bewildered boyfriend at home and ventured out in search of a nail salon. Being an avid Yelper, I trusted my fellow yelp-ees to direct me, and though direct me they did, it being 5pm on Labor Day, the suggested places (and even the not-so-suggested places) were all closed. What's a girl to do for her mani/pedi fix? I had noticed this place driving to and from work and decided to check it out. And they were open! at 5pm on Labor Day! Huzzah! Immediately upon entering, the first thing you notice is the quality of the equipment and finishes. The floor is a gorgeous 12" white tile of some sort, not the usual concrete or linoleum you usually find, the pedicure chairs are all brand new and high-quality, and the manicure desks are wood (or realistic wood-like) finishes. There's soothing spa-type music playing and a muted TV down one end. I was greeted promptly and very politely by the woman at the desk who offered me the menu. The prices weren't too steep - not the cheapest I've seen either, but not terrible. A basic manicure was $20, a basic pedicure was I think $25 (I upgraded). They were also running a 20% off for their grand opening at the time, probably until business picks up (I was alone in the place for much of my appointment). I chose the $45 pedicure which included a hot stone massage, paraffin wrap, and special massage cream. I sat my tush in the cushy pedicure chair to begin and was presented with the drink menu (which makes it sound much more extensive than it was; a list of 6 or so wines), and chose the sangria. I was then presented with a bevy of options for my massage cream, all smelling delicious, and given a quick tutorial on how to use the massage features of the chair. I chose my cream and settled in. Since I was doing both a manicure and a pedicure, two ladies worked simultaneously. This was definitely the most efficient way of getting both done so I wasn't there all night (as it was I was there about an hour and a half), and both ladies were very friendly and talked enough to me to be pleasant without being off-putting. I was buffed and polished and now my hands and feet are soft as a baby's bum, though they smell much better. I even got flower designs on my ring fingers and my big toes. While I was there, another woman came in to get her eyebrows done. Having not had that service, I can't speak to it directly, but they did look nice when she came out, at least. The real test of a quality nail salon is the longevity. It's only been three days, but my nails are still in mint condition. And that's saying something because I usually am brutal to a manicure. I would definitely return to this spa. The prices are a little steeper than what I'm used to, but the service and quality are worth it (especially with the 20% discount). Also, they do add a $0.10 fee to credit card charges. Definitely not unreasonable, just a heads up. read more

I have been getting my nails done at Anderson Nails & Spa for over a year! I have absolutely loved this establishment until recently. I was so excited to find this place! Everyone was always so friendly, welcoming, and does a fantastic job. But my recent experience was not a pleasant one. Kelly did my last manicure at Anderson Nails & Spa. My nails look nice however I did not appreciate her attitude. I noticed after my SNS manicure that it felt as if there was buildup under my nail. She huffed, puffed, and laughed when I mentioned it. She said my nails are too short (which they are not), my nails go well above my fingers. She wouldn't listen. I then noticed nail polish over my fingers on both hands. I simply asked her if it comes off in the shower? etc.. she again sighed with a rude laugh and wouldn't attend to the polish on the fingers. Once I got into the car, I peeled the polish as best as I could off my fingers. Customer Service is EVERYTHING in business. You never know who will walk into your establishment. Word of mouth is EVERYTHING. Customers should always be treated with respect along with everyone who you meet. Had Kelly shown a positive attitude and been accommodating, I wouldn't be writing this review and would have loved to go back to Anderson Nails. read more

I love this place! Have been coming here on and off for years now and I always come back because no one can beat their quality of work! I've used pretty much everyone who works here and they are all fantastic. My shellac stays on for 2/3 weeks, with no chipping or lifting and they are just generally really nice people. Of course they know me by name now, but they are super sweet to everyone who comes in! One time my ankle was broken and in a cast, so they would give me a pedicure on one foot and change the polish and cut my nails on my other, then gave me a discount for the few months when I was on one foot! After reading good reviews, I decided to try this location. It was very clean & the customer service was great. But here is my complain... I've done enough manicures done, I know when I see something isn't right. I never I mean never had someone put nail polish all over on my cuticle. When I saw this, I couldn't believe it... I thought I can do better than her for free. I asked her that she will clean the mess & she said she will. She got the acetone, dip the brush in there and start cleaning around my cuticle. My nail polish was red... my cuticle changed color to red. I was so disappointed I complained to the owner (I think she was the owner..) I showed her where my cuticles are all red. I don't know... I know I am not going here for my manicure. I will try for pedicure to see how good they are & depends on that, they might get 3 stars. read more
