I was greeted promptly upon entering the business. I had made an appointment but was early. I was still seated within minutes for my pedicure. I didn't catch the technicians name but she was young and very gentle. Even though I was just getting a basic pedicure, she still used a sugar scrub to exfoliate my calves and massaged my feet. I can only imagine how much more pampering their other pedicures are. I also appreciated the fact that the cutting tools were all in a sterile pack. My manicure was done at a table by Lily. I got solar nails for the first time, and she recommended getting the gel polish with them. Even though part of the process uses a dremel, she was very gentle and proficient. She also made sure I was happy with the nail length and shape every step of the way. It took 3 tries to get a color I was happy with, and she was perfectly patient with me. I wanted to get pretty nails before celebrating my 50th birthday this week, and thanks to Joe's Nails, I have them. read more

I have been coming here for years-they have always done a great job. My recent visit wasn't good. I was paying with a couple of gift cards as I have done many times. When checking they did not seem to know how to check the balances-After a-lot of back and forth, they supposedly figured it out. Almost as soon as I left, they were calling me to come back and pay more. I had left the gift cards so there was no way to verify what was correct. They refused to refund the money for a terrible (the worst) SNS job they did for my daughter. They insisted it could easily be cleaned! So why did they not clean it before she left? Found this place on Yelp! Came in for my 12pm appointment. Place was pretty packed. Guessing since it was Easter weekend. I was quickly welcomed and asked if I wanted something to drink. Decor was so cute. I was so nervous, because I'm always clenching my teeth when I'm going to a new place. I stopped by since I was in town for a quick trip. This was my last good mani/pedi before my deployment and I found Joe Nails! I requested a gel mani and a regular pedi. Jenny made sure my shape was to my liking, which was nice. She topped off my mani with a neck and shoulder massage. She made sure my nails were sealed off nicely even though they were clear. I appreciate that because other shops use clear as an excuse for a quick job, but she made sure color was applied nicely and my shape was what I wanted! The woman didn't spend too much time on my massage, but my color was beautiful. I appreciated the extra services, but I would recommend taking a little more time on the additional items like massages. Otherwise, it feels like added fluff but not quality. It's a family run business, which I truly admire. Wife runs operations. Husband manages customer flow, and parents are also actively working. Update 7-30-21: I came to have a gel manicure. Surprisingly the hostess has a very dismissive attitude like she doesn't want to work. Then she charged me $5 dollars just to take the remaining of my previous gel manicure which is only a few edges plus $37 for a new manicure. I told her that her charges were very expensive and she told me Ok you can go somewhere else; so I did. I can't believe this businesses charging so much for things that are not a big deal. They weren't the most welcoming when I arrived, but I mentioned I only wanted a pedicure and eyebrow waxing. I believed the lady that did my pedicure didn't speak English, because she wasn't answering when I spoke. I got a classic pedicure and they used hot stones to massage my legs. The stones left a burn on my leg and the pedicure didn't last a day. The quality of the pedicure is DIY. The owner saw that I already had a full set and I explained that I got it done from a nail tech. He told me that it looked terrible and I should have went to them to get my nails done. I'm not sure if it was jealousy, but that was definitely a turn off as a customer. I got my eyebrows waxed and they didn't follow my natural arch. It isn't awful, but it's not what I was looking for. I recently moved to Austin and have been going to another nail salon here in Avery Ranch based on reviews. I don't really get my nails done a lot because within one week they start lifting and catching in my hair, which is very annoying.. I have very flat nail beds so I have been told it's the reason that they lift very fast. It is something I got used to when I get my nails done. I went in for a full set and nothing about it was great. There was a line left on my thumb that was visible due to the acrylic not being done correctly. It also wasn't evenly laid towards the bottom of my nail leaving it very uneven. The paint job was decent however it started coming off just 5 days after I got them done. Was looking for a nail salon and yelp reviews led me here. I didn't have a reservation, but fortunately I came in early in the morning and they were able to fit me in right away. They were very kind and did not act like I was inconveniencing them by showing up without a reservation. The size was similar, if not a tiny bit smaller, to most nail salons, but it had a very cozy and charming aesthetic. They offered you a beverage too. I appreciated the little pillows in the chairs for the manicure stations. It made sitting there a little more comfortable. Overall, I really liked the atmosphere. Mimi worked on my nails today and I went with the gel manicure. She did a great job and I'll probably ask for her again. I don't have any complaints or criticisms. I have been going to this salon for 8 years, used to love this place when Jenny was there. But recently in past year or so the quality of service has gone down. I used to get the french tip gel nails from Jenny before and they used to last for at least 3 or so weeks. But this time the manicurist struggled big time to get them right. They switched half way since he was struggling too much, but I don't think the other person knew any better as she kept doing them wrong and ended up starting over many times. I remember how they used to do it before and this time they used the different technic that was not right. My white tips are now peeling off just in two weeks. I've gone 4x now, but took a 1 year break in between visits. I was previously unimpressed with their SNS application. This time Nam took his time, nails were not too thick and quite smooth. I'd go again, but only request him. I'm picky on the outcome / so I left very impressed. I'll say the pedicure was meh - it's not relaxing to have orange slices bump up against your soaking feet. I was trying to zone out, but found the sensation disturbing. The finished pedicure was fine, it just wasn't relaxing. He cleaned the pumice in the water alongside my feet by scrubbing it against the bowls side. He also removed the plastic bag to let the water out while my feet were in said water (hygienically speaking that was disgusting). I also think the pedicure chairs could use a refresh. read more

(Ive never paid that much for a set that hardly had any detail in it but their excuse was the "lenght". My daughter got her nails done for senior pictures. She immediately complained about her cuticles being red and they nicked her finger. This resulted in a Staph infection. She had to have it drained and be put on Oral and ointment antibiotics. We have been going to Joe Nail for years. I was surprised they commented that we cant prove it happened there. They offered to take the fake nails off for free. ($5 charge normally). We spent a lot on the nails, plus doctor visit, and prescriptions. I was not rude at all. But seriously the money on the cost of the manicure should be refunded. My daughter and I have gotten pedicures here for years.
