Not only were the photos fast (you're in and out in 20 minutes) but we got TONS of great shots in a variety of poses. She made the toddler in the family look like a child model and managed to make him smile a genuine smile for every shot he's in. Magic! My husband's sister lost her job due to COVID, so she's temporarily playing nanny to her cousin's toddler. There's so much about the pandemic that isn't great, but having so much family so close by for once is a small silver lining to this whole thing, and we wanted to document it by getting some family shots. Even though it was an overcast, humid day, the pictures all came out great and are cheerfully gloomy, with rich dark green backgrounds and pops of color from our outfits. We had trouble choosing our favorites! She even rolled with the punches when I brought some fans with other cousin's faces on them so they could "be" in the photo we send to Grammy and just acted like that was a fine and normal thing to bring to a shoot :).

Even…read morebefore the photo shoot itself, from the very beginning, Nicole has been so personable, caring, attentive, and calm. She really knows -- even more than I did at the start -- how important professional photos are for preserving the essence of a special day. So with just two weeks to go until our micro wedding, my husband and I hired her. Our first meeting to get to know each other and go over the order of the wedding day was incredibly important to feel comfortable with each other and to get to know what kinds of photos we'd want. The wedding day started at my family home in Maryland (party of 9) and then we drove into Washington, DC for an outdoor virtual wedding with the courthouse officiating. It of course rained almost all day, but Nicole was prepared for all eventualities and knew what to do to make sure we got the best photos. She is full of great ideas! In the end, we were actually grateful it rained because it offered us the best lighting and the least interruptions from passing tourists. We are so looking forward to the photos she captured and love her classic editing style. We only wish we got one with her in them because she now feels like a part of our family after sharing our special day with us.

She arrived exactly on the agreed upon time and she patiently waited for our daughter to wake up from her longer than usual nap. Our daughter was not in the best of moods (read real pain in the neck) when she woke up (and unfortunately throughout the shoot) but Macarena was incredibly kind, good natured and understanding in dealing with her. We walked to the nearby park and Macarena came up with very creative shots and props, such as picking up bright coloured flowers along the way and making my wife and I throw leaves on our daughter. She took numerous photos that day and she did an excellent job editing them and making our family glow and shine on an otherwise very grey day. Macarena has a profound understanding of families in particular children. We feel she really managed to captured the essence of our family - as if she had known us for a very long time!
