They couldn't find Federal Blue Cross Vision in their computer despite having a major Federal employer in the area! As a healthcare professional my self, masks are stupid! They are dirty, nasty -filled with bacteria! MERSA has gone up 80% since mask mandates and many other bacteria skin issues. These nasty things are handled over and over. If they want a mask, they need to supply one with the adhesive across the nose and eyes region so glasses don't fog! They make them to be worn in procedures for those who wear glasses!

I make requests that are also not that easy to fulfill. You see, I have a brain that doesn't always work along the straight-line others expect. I order my steak burnt crispy outside, pink and juicy inside, my eggs just so; thus, I appreciate people who take the extra step to make me happy. This week, I wanted something special done, based on the layout of my office and my personal preferences. At first when I asked, I was told, it just wasn't something that is normally done. It seems there are rules. I didn't have the right documentation, and "they just don't make it that way." It wasn't going to happen until I met the right guy who also wanted to do the right thing. You see The Doctor was in and he said the words, "Well, sure, I can approve that." Since then, I found that this doctor has surpassed that standard of community service most of us would think of as just doing the right thing.

On 15 May 2022, Dr. Seely wrote me a letter stating, "...and am formally discharging you from my practice". He then continues, "(you have) a very serious and potentially blinding condition and in my opinion need to be under the care of ophthalmologist." I was FIRED from his practice, I think, because I CANNOT wear a mask. He did not indicate that in his letter to me, so I am assuming this is the reason. I am 79 years old, with breathing issues & heart issues & I cannot wear a mask. I politely offered to wear a shield, but that was not to his liking. They demand that every patient wears a mask. She now has her own practice. I couldn't be more happy. I had a contenscious issue with her at one point. It turned out I was wrong and she was right. I am glad she knew best. Shocked to say the least! Too many patients and not enough care givers. I called and spoke to Elizabeth but nothing could be done she said as that was the decision. WHY and how was that choice made? I am almost 73 and quite healthy so maybe I don't give them enough business or that I am just elderly. This facility has been where I have been going to for the last 30+ years first with Dr. & Cynthia Keys (amazing care providers) and then when ownership changed with Dr. Marie Hebert and Shannon a FNP (or PA). They both left the practice (surprise) and I was then informed (weeks ago) Rachel Hebert FNP would take over as my provider. Now I receive this surprising & distressful news just when I need to be taken care of. Has anyone else been notified about something like this? What a shoddy way to handle the precious healthcare of people.
