We waited about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all given how popular it is. The atmosphere immediately transports you to Bavaria. Servers wear traditional attire, and the walls are adorned with German beer steins, murals, and lush greenery. So after three visite over the years, always excellent food. My wife's favorite is the Cordon Blue Schnitzel, which is stuffed with smoked pork and swiss cheese. A unique entree to say the least. Be careful because that cheese is still moten HOT when you eat. Flavors are great and the dish is more filling that you expect. I like the Beef Goulash, with a side of German potato salad, it's the right size entree. Seasoning is just right, and very tender pieces of beef, my second favorite item I finally tried the seasonal smoked bratwurst plate. This was a little lighter then the beef goulash, so I had room for dessert. This smoked bratwurst had a thick skin, so a knife was deployed to cut it, but the flavors were on point, just a little smoke and great flavor. Now the best of all part, dessert. The black forest cake was incrediable light and brandy infused cherry tasty. Towards the end I ate more of the cake then frosting, but a delicious dessert. So far the only one I have tried. The seating in the "wine barrels" is a bit of a unique experience, and the second night they have live music. He was singing in German a variety of songs on his accordian. I really liked the dessert but it was actually from the gingerbread factory. pretzel with alpine cheese: the pretzel is unsalted and doesn't have much flavor. the add on of alpine cheese (+$6) was necessary and the cheese sauce was very cheesy and flavorful. fried potatoes (side): the potatoes weren't crispy and just okay. It paired well with the alpine cheese though. bavarian beef goulash: the beef was tender and overall light in flavor. it was a good dish and was reminiscent of my time in Europe. Every time we come to Leavenworth, we always come to this restaurant for a reason. Their food is definitely a step above the other nearby places, so for us it's worth the wait. They do a proper giant pretzel, it's actually big and fluffy with dipping options like mustard and cheese.
