Bear Bear is an inviting, quaint restaurant that serves quality food with homemade recipes. There's more outside seating than in, both in the front and back. The veggie benedict was excellent, and everyone in my party also loved their food. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt, even with our group of ten. I definitely recommend Bear Bear for a fresh and delicious meal.
During our visit to Leavenworth, we stopped into Bear Bear for an early breakfast. This quaint restaurant is located a few blocks from front street. We were warmly greeted by our server upon entering the restaurant and quickly seated at our table. After contemplating what to eat (everything looked so good!) we ordered and enjoyed- Chicken and waffles- wow! What an amazing dish! The real Maple and caramel syrup really made the dish! Eggs Benny with bacon- loved this dish and the scratch hollindaise. We had a wonderful breakfast and we will definitely visit Bear Bear again when we return to the area!
They had an easy waitlist system. The service was average and goood. It wasn't anything out of the normal standard brunch options you'd see on the other side of the mountains. But tasted fine and good. It met our needs and we were pretty satisfied after the meal. The food was a nice simple but cozy brunch experience.
We arrived at Leavenworth after 2 hrs and 20 mins drive. There was one parking spot left at the Park and Ride so we were able to get free parking. Bear Bear was one of the few places opened early enough on a New Year's Eve so we had lunch there. My daughter had their House Waffle and the maple syrup was a full maple taste! Mine was Salmon Latkes. It was delicious! The latkes were very crispy and even my daughter enjoyed it. Service was very quick and there was a long wait especially they will close by noon due to New Year's Eve.
Another stop on our Leavenworth trip was Bear Bear, where we decided to grab breakfast. One of the biggest perks was the location. It's conveniently right across the street from where we were staying. The restaurant itself is very cute and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Since we were hungry and didn't want to wait, we chose to sit outside on the patio. Thankfully, it was an enclosed tent area with two heaters running, which made it comfortable. We were seated quickly and looked over the menu right away. I ordered the Bread Pudding French Toast, which came with whipped vanilla crème fraîche, maple caramel syrup, and fruit compote. The bread pudding itself was good, but in my opinion, the fruit compote wasn't necessary. It ended up overpowering the flavor of the bread pudding rather than complementing it. My cousin ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which I also got to try. It was okay, but not quite what we were expecting. The chicken was more like a chicken tender instead of the usual chicken thigh we've had at other chicken-and-waffle spots. The waffle was very soft and lacked the crispiness that helps balance the dish and hold up to the chicken. Overall, our experience was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. On the plus side, the service was good, and our food came out fairly quickly after we received our hot cider. A decent breakfast option if you're nearby, but not a must-visit during a Leavenworth trip.
If you're looking for a cozy breakfast with warm and welcoming staff, I recommend that you give Bear Bear a try. They have a small indoor seating and covered outdoor seating as well. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server Emily was super patient with our party of 5 and answered all of our questions. Amongst the group we ordered the side Potato latkes with Herb Creme Fraiche, side fried chicken tender, Fried Chicken and Waffle. White Chedder Grits and Greens and Spice Salmon Latkes and the Big Bear Brekky Sando. The side fried chicken tender was a little dry by itself, but the fried chicken and waffles were a perfect combination of sweet and savory. The latkes were crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. The white cheddar grits were okay, but the breakfast sandwich was nice and filling. Over all great customer service and comforting food.
We stopped in on our way through town on a Sunday morning. While busy we were able to get it quickly. Service was phenomenal as well as the food! Cute decor inside. Will definitely eat here again as so many things looked delicious. I order the white cheddar grits and greens and they were TOP NOTCH I added toast with butter and jam as well. The jam was very good!
Came pretty early into Leavenworth excited for a day of exploring, but also hungry and in need of more coffee. We found a parking spot, and headed out with the intention of walking around and finding something to eat. In front of us was a restaurant (this restaurant) so I looked at the menu and was instantly pretty sold. The use of Berbere seasoning alone had me. But, we elected to not go into the first spot we looked and so we walked around and finally I broke it to my husband I wanted to go back. So we did and glad we did! This one gets a 4 star for all the reasons. Interesting and creative menu, delightful service, delicious food and drinks. This isn't a place that's good for what it is it's just great outright. We split the white cheddar grits and greens, that had a berbere spiced chicken sausage. Incredible - so many wonderful flavors that went together magically. I could eat that on the daily. And we also split the banana toast crunch - basically banana bread French toast crusted in Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Amazing! We learned it's not part of the normal menu - it totally should be. Lights out! I got the Klondike drink which was basically a boozy peppermint hot cocoa. Very very sweet - but YUM. I wouldn't get it again because of how sweet it was but that's just me - not the drink. Would love to relocate this place right down the street lol it is that good!
My favorite meal is hands down always gonna be breakfast and since this place was so close to where we were staying, it was a unanimous YES when we suggested trying out this cute restaurant! We got here right when they were opening and Danny (not sure if he is the owner but he was awesome!) was setting up the sign outside but told us we were welcome to come on in. We had a wheelchair and a stroller in our party and he said he would get the back ready so we would be able to use that entrance to get the wheelchair in. He pushed some tables together since we had a bigger party and made sure we had a place for the stroller and was so accommodating and kind. The space here was so cute and welcoming, there were cool pictures posted up on the walls along with some great quotes too! Not only was the service and decor incredible, so was the food!!! Danny told us one of the specials was pumpkin waffles and since that is my jam, i had to jump on that! But so many other things looked so good too so i ended up getting a few things! We def ordered a lot of food and you could say we enjoyed it because we ate everything. Oink oink is right!! Check out all my food pics of the breakfast sando, eggs Benedict, French toast, and all the other deliciousness we ordered!! Bear bear also serves lunch so you can swing by for that meal too! Place is small and you're most likely going to have to put yourself on a waiting list. But it's well worth the wait. Was seated outside and thankfully there is a covered gazebo with heaters because it was raining pretty hard. I was skeptical on ordering the PBH Waffle (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called) and glad I did. With every bite, I was left wanting more. Service was great and our server was all smiles. Highly recommend the Bear Bear.

We went to Leavenworth last weekend for the July 4th weekend! We wanted to try at least a couple of brunch spots and found this place! It's in downtown Leavenworth and it's a small place with an outside patio/deck to eat. The inside is small with one restroom but it was air conditioned and nobody was in so it was nice! All staff is nice! We enjoyed our lavender lemonades! My mom had a side of potato latkes and my dad had the bear burger with really good sweet potato waffle fries! I had the miso mushroom melt with a side salad and this tasty mint cilantro dressing and dukka nuts which I've never heard of it! It was delicious! We'd shared a cream and berry jam waffle! They do have unique brunch items which are typically not brunch but something different I would say! It was really good! I'd definitely like to come back for the other items. read more

Just a short walk from our hotel, Bear Bear caught our eye as we walked around. We were able to sit on the covered patio to enjoy the warm weather. Lots of food options from savory to sweet. We got the eggs Benedict and the Cheddar Grits with sausage and greens. Everything was delicious and portions are generous. Such warm and friendly service - love the staff here. Our coffee was always topped off and they checked on us throughout our visit. We left full and happy. Great place for a filling brunch! read more
Recommended here by our hotel front desk. We visited on a Sunday in March before 9am and there was no wait (quickly filled up after 9). It's cozy inside. Portions are modest. We got the chicken & waffle (singular) and big brekko sando (should be called petite). Liked the spice on the chicken and the sauce on the breakfast sandwich. Had to request a refill on coffee. They unfortunately do NOT offer a military discount (all of the other shops we had been to this weekend had honored military, so was just a little surprised is all. Paid for metered parking in front. ($4/hour). Better than our hotel breakfast, but that would have been free. read more

This is a cute brunch spot you can't miss out on. I have been twice now and even years apart visits it was just as good as I remember. The service is very fast and the bear theme is adorable. Not to mention all the food being amazing! Definitely worth checking out when visiting Leavenworth! read more

Service was great. I put ourselves on the waitlist and we were seated as soon as we arrived. Great start to the day! We had the latkes and biscuits and gravy. The latkes were perfect. I wasn't crazy about the biscuits. But take this option with a grain of salt. I've had biscuits that are dense but softer than what they are serving. Still a delicious dish. Like most places in Leavenworth the decor is cozy and you feel like you're in their cabin serving you breakfast. Mmmmm so nice. read more

A must go to try something you love with a twist! My egg Benedict with a delicious hollandaise sauce that has a light yet perfect zesty kick that perfectly complements the dish, sided with crunchy potato puck! My fiancée's mushroom melt that has no words to describe its supreme taste! A MUST TRY! And finally a delicious yogurt fruit bowl that had the right portions of fruit to yogurt combo with a perfect berry jam! Definitely Recommend! read more
This was a great brunch spot! I ordered the smoked salmon latkes with a poached egg on the side and my boyfriend ordered the biscuits and gravy. The smoked salmon latkes are outside of my normal brunch repertoire, but this dish hit the spot! The latkes were pretty thick, but very crispy on the outside. The smoked salmon had a sweet / savory flavor and went very well with the whipped cheese. The serving size was generous! The biscuits and gravy also had a rich flavor, with a good amount of protein. Our server was friendly, made a few order adjustments without issue, and our food was out quick. We loved sitting on the patio with some shade and a view of the mountains! read more

Came here while visiting Leavenworth with a group of 6 others. The place was busy on a Sunday morning but the wait wasn't bad at all. We were sat at this picnic table on the side of the restaurant which I can appreciate because the place itself seemed a bit tight and we were a bigger group so it was nice to have our own little area. A couple of us in the group ordered the cold brew coffee and it wasn't great. It tasted like drip coffee really. I wouldn't recommend the coffee here. But to eat I ordered the Eggs Benny with bacon. This breakfast dish was delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly, the bacon was crisp but not too crisp... hit the spot! The latke was probably my favorite part though!!! So light yet crispy. I loved my choice. Everyone else in the group seemed to enjoy their dishes as well. This was a great breakfast spot, I would recommend it! read more
The ambiance was cozy and friendly. We sat indoors and it felt like we were in a cabin. They have outdoor patio seating as well. We put ourselves on the waitlist and was seated in about 10 minutes. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, ricotta frittata, waffles, and salmon egg benny. Food was good but none of the dishes were stand out amazing in our opinion. Maybe we didn't order the right items? I'd recommend for the cozy ambiance and friendly staff. read more

Came to Bear Bear on a Sunday morning after hiking the Enchantments with a big group of friends. They opened up a table in the back for us so we didn't have to wait long, thank goodness! The menu is great, there's so much variety. My friends and I all found items on the menu that intrigued us. Unfortunately, I felt like the service was off for us. I had a couple of strange interactions with our server. I ordered my mushroom melt with a poached egg (confirmed with my table that I did say it clearly), but it didn't come with the egg. I checked with the server to see if the egg was captured in the order, but she insisted that I had not said I wanted anything else. I had also ordered a Berry Spritz, but she came back a bit later and asked if I had decided on ordering the drink or not. Maybe it was just a series of miscommunications but it left a bad taste in my mouth. The final straw was with the side salad that came with the mushroom melt. The menu does not say that the mushroom melt comes with a side salad. I was surprised when the side salad came out with nuts on top, which I am allergic to. I asked the server what mix of nuts was in the dukka nut and she kept insisting that she had no idea. I could have pushed harder to see the packaging, but in the end she went to get a new salad with no nuts. tldr; service was fine but I felt like some of our interactions could have been better. The food was great, and I really enjoyed the meal itself: - Strawberry Waffle: 3/5, waffle was a bit dry - Bread Pudding French Toast: 5/5, this combination of desserts is SO good. - Latkes: 4/5, I'm so glad they have this as a side. The creme fraiche is delightful. - Miso Glazed Mushroom Melt: 5/5, really enjoyed the amount of mushrooms and how cheesy the melt was! - Berry Spritz: 5/5 Despite the service, I liked Bear Bear and would come back for brunch again if I were in the area. read more
Adorable October vest, German style bar and grill. They offer a variety of bratwurst and sausages, as well as other dishes. On Fridays and Saturdays they also have live music which really added her experience. We stumbled in here on a Saturday night without reservations and we're able to be sat with no problem. I ordered the reuben sandwich and my fiance ordered the Jaguer platter. My two friends also ordered some other pizzas. Our server was also incredibly nice and it tentative to us, and also knowledgeable about sharing popular dishes. Overall had a great experience. Very cute spot to go for a German/ Octoberfest theme and good food! read more

Such a cute place. Breakfast with a view we appreciated being able to have our pup on the patio. Service was great super friendly and quick. I had the sausage and gravy with a side of bacon. Portion sizes are great. The husband got the bread pudding and a chai latte. read more
This mornings search for a dog friendly brunch took us to Bear Bear and let me just say Wow Wow! The outdoor seating area is nice with heaters. Our server was nice and attentive. I truly believe that I had one of the best things I've ever eaten. For brunch we ordered a side of the potato latkes with an herb creme freiche. For my main heavenly entree, I had the Miso glazed mushroom melt and all I can say is OMG! My husband had the 5 spiced salmon with latkes. He loved every bite. If you get the chance to do so, do yourself a favor and dine at Bear Bear and please have the mouth watering Miso mushroom melt. You won't regret it! read more

Excellent patio seating so that we could enjoy a quick bite with our dog. Service was very quick and accommodating. Spiked hot coffees were perfect for a brisk cold day. Food was good albeit a little pricy. My 5 spiced smoked salmon was very delicious, and the portion was HUGE. My partner had the cub burger which came with waffle sweet potato fries. Fries were crisp to perfection. My partner described the cub burger as "a burger if healthy people made it" which he meant as a slight but many would see as a compliment! In any case, he ate it all and didn't even leave me a bite to taste so must not have been too healthy read more

Bear Bear definitely gives off the vibes of a small mountain town diner. Brunch here was good, and overall my group and I were satisfied, however nobody was overly impressed with anything. Food was good, service was good, and overall ambiance and feel of the place was cozy and comforting and comforting as well. I do wish they had some more coffee options, rather than just regular drip coffee. The eggs in the Benedict were a bit too undercooked, and the whites were still raw. Honestly my favorite thing was the salad that came as a side with the mushroom melt. That salad was delicious. read more

We started off our day in Leavenworth on such a high note here! This food was absolutely amazing, I loved everything we got and am still dreaming about it. We got the shakshouka, potato latkes, and cream jam brioche. Everything had such well developed flavors! The shakshouka had a nice masala kind of flavor, the latkes came with such a yummy dressing, and the brioche fruit was so delicious and rich. Service was also great, our server was super patient and sweet! And the seating inside was so nice and cozy. We did wait around 30 mins but it was fine to put our names down then go walk around - and the food was worth the wait!! read more

One of first places to open in Leavenworth in morning (8 am). Nice patio seating overlooking the street. Note, I did not see an accessible ramp to the facility ... just a set of stairs from the street. Outdoor patio is dog friendly, but only 5-6 tables out there so it's smart to get there right when they open at 8. It gets busy pretty quick. Menu is inventive. I had collard greens and white cheddar grits with sausage and a poached egg. Recommended by my server; probably wouldn't have tried on my own! Delish. Highly recommended, out of the ordinary breakfast. They've also got a bunch of other stuff including chicken and waffles that was popular at the tables around me. I may go back to try the salmon latkes ... another unusual, welcoming option. I added a yogurt bowl with banana, homemade granola and raspberries. Very welcoming and effective service. Food came out of kitchen quickly. Highly recommended early breakfast in Leavenworth. About $25 pp. Very reasonable read more
A great breakfast spot in Leavenworth! I highly recommend joining the wait list since there's a wait however I'm not sure if this actually improved our wait time. I checked in with the hostess when we arrived and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Other people arriving were also quoted 30 minutes. We went and walked to the park and got to the restaurant about 10 min after our table ready and they were still able to seat us. We sat outside in a covered area with heaters. Our waiter was very kind! I ordered the breakfast sando and asked for sourdough instead of the bun. The egg patty was a great serving size; the bacon was thick and amazing! The white cheddar and aioli when together well. The potato latkes were crispy on the edges and seasoned very well. The crème fraise was very light, fresh, and lemony. Definitely recommend these. Not pictured but the bear burger was delicious as well! The burger patty must have been smoked because it had an amazing sausage-like flavor. We shared the PBH toast for something sweet. There was a thick serving of peanut butter and lots of banana slices. The crushed peanuts and powdered sugar were a nice elevated addition. Definitely a nice sweet note to end the meal on especially since it wasn't too sweet. read more

Awesome brunch spot in Leavenworth. Walking distance from downtown. Small venue inside with some tables outside. Waiter service offered or order at the cashier to go. Extensive menu including some great vegetarian options. Breakfast and lunch including waffles, breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, etc. Friendly staff. Overall worth checking out for breakfast if you were in the area! read more
