I've gone to Dr. Berman's office twice to take my wife for her appointments. His office is located in a nice building on Wilshire Blvd. Parking has never been an issue. There is street parking available, but it more convenient to park inside the building and pay the parking rate. We were never at his office longer than 1 hour so the parking fee has been minimal. His office staff has been fine. Dr. Berman himself has been kind and professional with his treatment of my wife. Thank you Doctor!! read more

His office staff is very very rude and condescending to start with. Three years ago I went to him for chronic clogged sinus issue since can't breath through nose. He did vein ablation that was so useless. He didn't numbed area completely with lidocaine local injection completely and hardly done any ablation. Since then I had another ENT did nerve ablation and realized the procedure from the new doctor was totally different experience, much deeper, more thorough and much better result. Then Dr. Berman prescribed anti snore device to stop my snoring which is to lock my mouth which means I can't breathe. As soon. As he put that device I couldn't breathe. He knows I'm a mouth breather! And the office demanded to pay over $700 for this useless device which they said my insurance will pay for. I saw Dr. Berman for a concern that was completely misdiagnosed. Rather than asking me to take a test to determine if I had the condition, he moved forward with prescribing me a medication assuming I did. I thankfully took the test and learnt I didn't have that condition. I had a follow up telemed call with him to check whether the medication was working. I called to reschedule and in spite multiple calls, they have yet to return my call. Instead they've billed me for a no show fee for the last 4 months. Surprising that they have enough time to pursue a no show fee but not return patient's calls to reschedule appointments. Not sure if this is the office team's disregard for patients or direction from the doctor. Either way, would not recommend this office. read more

This is an old review, I went to see him about 10+15 years ago. I had a chronic cough, his diagnoses was absolutely absurd. He said just stop coughing, its a habit. Dr. Behrman is also an ENT! This review is for my visit with him in his dual role as ENT. After 3 trips to urgent care, their final recommendation was to see a specialist! I decided to actually try to find a doctor through my insurance (Cigna). Usually, since I have a PPO, I just want to find a doctor with great ratings/reviews online, and don't care so much about insurance. But, I went through my insurance and found Dr. Behrman listed as an ENT with 30 years of practice, good ratings, and he was accepting new patients. Great. The staff was friendly before and during my visit, which was perfect because I was so sick and congested, that I could barely talk. The staff was compassionate and I felt taken care of. They gave me parking tips for the area, which was also very helpful. I always welcome tips on free parking in L.A.! While waiting for Dr. Behrman in his consultation office, I noticed lots of plaques and certifications and awards for plastic surgery. I was a little confused and asked the staff if I was in the right place. They confirmed that I was. My visit with Dr. Behrman went very well. He was compassionate, friendly, and listened to my epic bronchitis story, and provided his thoughts and next steps. His estimate of my recovery time was correct. 4 weeks! He was also hooked up to some patient profile database, which I always appreciate. Both dr. and patient contribute to the file and build an ongoing dialogue for care. So my experience was good. This doctor is to be avoided. Has an outdated mentality. Still used metal tools to see the tonsils,instead of using wooden sticks, which they throw after using them. Used an unsterilized tool with stains. The other time he infected your tonsils and I had to take the antibiotics. Today at the second visit to done the same, and denied me using the wooden stick to see the tonsils. I hope he hasn't infected me again, and that I shouldn't get the antibiotic again. He's a friend with doctor (Madison Richardson), and my Otolaryngology doesn't matter, Alessi David who is my current doctor. He speaks ill of doctors Alessi, and he did not even check my ears on the visit, which is fundamental for a diagnosis. In June 2022, I was referred to Dr. Berman by my allergist, Dr. Alan Khadavi, to discuss some sinus infections I had gotten earlier this spring. I have been a patient for 3+ years with Dr. Khadavi, who is in network with Cigna, my insurance provider, and a member of Dr. Berman's medical group who practices in the same office. Ahead of my appointment, Dr. Berman's office staff confirmed that he accepted my insurance, which they already had on file; in fact, I wasn't asked to fill out any start paperwork or show my insurance card before the appointment because I was already in their system. Additionally, WebMD, ZocDoc and HealthGrades all listed Dr. Berman as being in-network with Cigna. My visit lasted 15 minutes, and a month later, I received a bill for nearly $400, which was much, much higher than expected. When I contacted Cigna, I was told that Berman was out-of-network, but his staff and his billing office said that he was in-network with Cigna but that his medical group is out-of-network, which was and still is quite confusing. I thought I was going about things properly by staying in-network. I saw a doctor who worked alongside one of my regular in-network doctors. I inquired with the staff ahead of time, and I researched him online before my appointment. Long story short - his office has a serious customer service deficiency, and the whole experience has been a giant headache. Lesson learned. read more

Dr. Berman is nice and welcoming. However, please run away as fast as you can if you're looking for a quality septoplasty or rhinoplasty. I had both done about a year and a half ago and can truly say I think he made my nose worse. My left nostril is TINY and the bridge of my nose is SO bumpy (how is that possible??). I also have a bit of a swelled/droop tip. I waited over a year to post this review, as I know it takes a while to recover, but I am so deeply unhappy with the entire process. Stay Away from this doctor. The Doctor is a scam. Their office will not do the proper work for any medical procedure. Their office manager is very aggressive and has a condescending attitude. The doctor has no idea how the system works. They charged me upfront for my copay in the amount of $30.00 for a future appointment and never submitted the proper paperwork for my neck MRI. You will regret seeing this doctor and their office. I called them multiple times for my neck MRI authorization, but they were not willing to help me. I have filed a compliant with California Board of Medicine. I am hoping either they will discipline this doctor or preferably take away his license. These type of doctors are a health hazard to the society and the people. DONT compromise your health and happiness by seeing this doctor. Stay as far away as possible. The doctor will take your money for future services which would never be rendered and throw you under the bus. Your health and treatment will be seriously jeopardized if you see this doctor. He charges you for senseless deposits and fees without giving you the service and doing the proper work. When I have gone to see this doctor, he did not even take a look at my CT scan, and just ordered an MRI without sending the clinical notes to the NIA. I called Andrew Berman's office multiple times to no avail and the office manager, Marlene stated "we don't care about you and what would happen to you". I'm not sure who is at fault for this experience but I'd avoid this office at all cost, for the office admin needs better training and or the doctor needs a tad more empathy for his patients. I made an appointment that I deemed urgent for I recognized my hearing was declining. The male office attendant made no attempts at getting me in sooner than the week out appointment given, however a female office attendant called the next day and made me a next day appointment. My insurance made me go through hoops to get the authorization to see the dr and after spending the entire day getting the authorization completed, the male office attendant canceled the next day appointment I so desperately needed. He then makes me another appointment that was later than the initial appointment I had scheduled. Mind you my hearing is steadily declining and it means nothing to this doctor's office. Fearful I come to the office to see if I can be squeezed in because it's an emergency. I wait for about an hour and then I'm told I still won't be seen. Considering the circumstances and how my appointments were fumbled by the office, some flexibility could have been made. Just stay away from this office. They could care less about your actual health. Update: As of today, the doctor himself called to cancel my pending appointment, stating that I could simply go to urgent care. Again, further proof that this office could care less about their patients. I'm sure this phone call was encouraged by my unsavory review, and if this office truly cared about my well being the phone call I received from Dr. Berman would have been about me coming in to be seen/and or a telehealth appointment, instead of calling to cancel my appointment. I'll report this experience to the board, for no patient deserves such treatment. So once again, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR. read more

This is long overdue- but since the office just called me to remind me that I owed $20 additional from the visit that was a complete waste of my time I should explain how useless this visit was! A complete waste of time. I was not even brought in to an exam room. I was in a consult room. He talked and barely looked at the issues I was having. Tried to get money from me for some procedure to reset my crystals for the vertigo but I had no faith it would work since he explained it rapidly and it was related to out of pocket $$$$$. Also the front desk seems to know very little about payments or anything. My insurance adjusted the bill...probably because they knew I was overcharged! They had me pay the difference of $$ which I did!!! Now they called so say I owe a copay!!!! When I called to pay the front desk stated NO you have nothing due but shortly after called back. In essence of time I paid the clerk the additional $20 to avoid more confusion. I had asked her to void it but she said she had no authority to do so and that the doctor Berman NEVER waved fees!! It would've been in the best interest of all to wave the dang $20 bucks because as I told the gal she just reminded me how useless this appointment was. She proved to me this review was needed. PLEASE find a doctor that will give you all the needed attention and that has a staff that is organized and knowledgeable of billing procedures. I got my tonsils removed by Dr. Berman 10 years ago after getting several infections over and over, and since my surgery I am doing so much better. I went to Dr. Berman today for a consultation. I was kept in the waiting room for one hour and 40 minutes. When I was finally escorted to his office, he kept me waiting for another 20 minutes while he fussed over some data entry with his front office person. When he finally got around to me, he not only had no apologies, he was arrogant, totally uninterested in getting to know me or what I was there for, he didn't look at the referral notes or CT scan from my referring doctor, and to add to the already negative instincts this visit caused, when I arrived at my doctors office 30 minutes later, yes he had kindly faxed over the results of the office visit- another patient's records!! I know everything about the patient before me! Fortunately, my doctor had the good taste to shred the fax and refer me to someone else. Would have and should have walked out after waiting for one hour, but figured, hey emergencies happen, patients have questions and things get backed up. andrew berman has lied to patients and misdiagnosed them in multiple cases just like in mine. he didnt even have or review my medical records when evaluating me. he claimed my medical issues that were already diagnosed by my primary ent were an idea in my head. he put i had an "ideation" that something is wrong with me. as if i just made up these medical issues! how does someone make this up or make up breathing issues or nose issues that have already been diagnosed by my primary? I' m giving Dr. Berman two stars, and that's being generous. The first thing he wanted from me before even asking the purpose of my visit was getting his $50 copay. He was VERY impersonal. His bottom line is money, not the patient. I seem to be suffering from an ear infection that has lasted two weeks. Doctor Berman didn't even do a culture of the stuff he pulled out of my ear, just gave me ear drop to use, which did not work. It was actually for kids not adults. My second visit he asked for money first, then asked about my condition, then looked in my ear and said it's getting a little better. He washed it out, then put in Boric acid and told me that I would have to come to him for two more weeks and have this done. He never explained what was going on. I looking for a Doctor that is detailed in there observations/Find and explains what a patient has and how it was caused through after the culture comes back and the next recourse. Dr. Berman is far from detailed and explains nothing. Well, I'm not going back. It's a money game with this Doctor, and he does not care about his patients just the lining of his pockets. Do not see Dr. Berman for tinnitus. That is what I came in for (two times), and it was clear this was not his specialty nor competency, though he seemed extremely confident. The first time he told me it was ear wax, cleaned my ears and sent me home and told me it would go away in two days, and if it doesn't go away to I get a hearing test. It did not go away, and I proactively got the hearing test and came back with the results. Based on what he read in the test, he said "You have fluid in your ears. Take Flonase and Sudafed. Come back in two weeks, I need to check your nose if you are taking Flonase". Hmmm, this started to sound like a red flag...a follow up appt. just to check my nose because of using Flonase? The alarm bells rang that he did not really know what he was doing to help with the tinnitus, but he certainly knows how to get you back into the office to bill for more appointments. I never went back to Dr. Berman after that. I took it upon myself to see a different ENT from Cedars who was excellent, gave me a hearing test, and said that based on both tests I did not have fluid in my ears (he showed me on the chart how it shows I do not have fluid). This made me super annoyed that Dr. Berman put me on Flonase and Sudafed for two weeks for no reason. I also went to House Clinic as a precautionary measure and once again, based on the same test, the doctor said I do not have fluid in my ears. And both of those doctors were so much better in terms of actually being a doctor (answering questions, asking me questions about my history, etc). Then when I saw my insurance bills, Dr. Berman billed me for a completely different procedure (of the larynx) and then proceeded to blame his billing staff for this, which I know was not their mistake because his office manager looked at my chart and said "It says here you had a laryngoscopy". I said, "No, he cleaned my ears." Dr. Berman called me to apologize for the mistake and it took a few more weeks for that to be cleared up. All in all, I would say while he may be very competent in certain areas, my impression was that he downplayed my problem, tried to get me to keep coming back, and then billed me for something more expensive. I went to see Dr. Berman for an ear lavage, a simple procedure that I had done many times before with other doctors. But he used a long and sharp needle-like tool that I had never seen before and hurt me in the process. When I left, my ears were still as full of wax as when I came in. Due to sketchy billing I will never be using this doctor again. He was not very personable either. 1) They never mentioned a start up fee of $75 which took several calls to figure out what it even was they were now charging for 2) The hospital he scheduled me at for my surgery over billed me by almost $1k 3) The hospital and my doctor who both had my insurance still hired an anesthesiologist not covered by my insurance and then expected me to pay the huge bill and proceeded to call me and hound me for payment when it was their fault. 4) They still continue to bill me improperly with invoices that have no reference to what the hell they are for.
