Rick N - Breathing easily now thanks to Dr. Nasseri

My name is Rick N and I am an allergy sufferer. I've suffered from allergies to all sorts of things since I was 9 years old and every time I was given the "Scratch Test" as a kid, it was discovered that I was allergic to something else in the new panel . My allergies aggravated the nasal tissue, causing more and more problems. What a mess. Deviated Septum, Huge Turbinates, Swollen Tissue, Nasal Polyps Yikes!!! No wonder I couldn't breathe. - I was introduced to Shawn Nasseri, M.D. - Under Dr. Nasseri's care, my nasal problems began to slip away, one by one and even though I still had the allergies I was able to breath more freely. I am forever indebted to Dr. Nasseri for keeping the breath in my life, even when some of my medical conditions might have seemed scary for me. He's warm and friendly, while being caring and effective. Smart as only the best are, without being arrogant about it. If he sees this - Thank you Dr. Nasseri. You are a gem.

I traveled from out of town to see Dr. Larian after consulting with two other doctors in my area who did not impress me with their knowledge or recommendations. From the moment I met Dr. Larian, I was immediately impressed by his bedside manner, friendliness, and professionalism. He took the time to thoroughly explain my condition, discuss his recommendations, and review possible outcomes. He answered all of my questions with patience and respect, and by the end of the consultation, I knew without hesitation that he was the right provider for me. His credentials and experience certainly speak for themselves as well. Following surgery, my recovery was more challenging than expected, and I encountered some unforeseen issues. Throughout this difficult time, Dr. Larian was incredibly supportive and attentive. He stayed in close contact, monitored my progress, and continued to support me until everything was fully resolved. That level of care and commitment truly meant a great deal to me. Today, I am fully recovered and extremely grateful to Dr. Larian for the excellent care he provided. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, skilled, and genuinely kind physician. I would not hesitate to see him again if ever needed. Thank you so much Dr. Larian!

Until this situation, I had nothing negative to say about the practice, which is exactly why this experience has been so disappointing. My mother, who was visiting from Europe and had never been a patient at this practice before, became ill. I called the office hoping to schedule a same-day appointment for her, but was told there were no openings, so I booked the next available appointment on her behalf. Her condition then worsened, and I had to take her to another doctor for urgent medical care. Given the circumstances and the need to focus on obtaining medical treatment, the appointment at Dr. Zadeh's office was unfortunately not canceled in time. What happened afterward shocked me. A $500 charge appeared on my credit card. When I scheduled the appointment by phone, I was never informed that there would be a $500 cancellation/no-show fee, nor was any specific cancellation fee disclosed to me. This was particularly concerning because the appointment was for my mother, who would have been a brand-new patient and had never previously visited the practice, completed any intake paperwork, signed any financial or cancellation policy, or agreed to any such fee. When I disputed the charge with credit card company, the office responded by citing a signature they had on file from me. However, that signature came from a patient intake form that I had completed and signed specifically for my own treatment as a patient of the practice. It was not completed or signed on behalf of my mother and had nothing to do with her appointment. My mother had never been a patient at this practice, had never completed or signed any patient intake paperwork, and had never agreed to a cancellation policy with this office. I also tried to resolve this directly with the office. Unfortunately, I found the secretary I spoke with to be extremely unhelpful and hostile toward my concerns. Rather than acknowledging why I was questioning a $500 charge that had never been disclosed to me, there seemed to be no willingness to discuss the circumstances or consider any reasonable compromise. I specifically asked to speak with Dr. Zadeh and was told that he would personally call me back. I never received that call. I cannot know whether my concerns were ever communicated to him directly, but I was left without any meaningful opportunity to discuss the situation with him. I want to be fair: I understand that missed appointments inconvenience a medical practice, and I accept responsibility for forgetting to cancel. I would have had no issue paying a reasonable cancellation fee of $100-$200. But charging $500 -- the full cost of an appointment that never took place -- when that amount was never disclosed to me beforehand is something I cannot consider reasonable. I have never written a negative review before, and I genuinely do not enjoy writing this one. Two months later, I am still disappointed by how this situation was handled, particularly after having been a patient of this practice for several years and consistently paying out of pocket. If you are considering becoming a patient here, I strongly recommend asking for all cancellation and payment policies, including the exact fees, in writing before providing your payment information.

His appointment cost was only 25 dollars more than my local doctors and I didn't have to wait. After several vocal tests and inspection, found I hadn't lost my voice but had a "lesion" on my vocal cord! He stuck all the cameras and the scopes all around my throat and through my nose and everything until I saw a freaking PICTURE of this thing in the screen. Soon we scheduled the surgery, and I am recovering as we speak (no pun intended). His staff is pretty cool and very accommodating, and Brandon, his scheduler is pretty cool and always dresses nice. The nurses are kind and prompt as well. I had a question once and tried to call outside operating hours and Dr. Raffi even called me on his personal cell phone promptly afterwards. He turned a $200 appointment just for a basic checkup (for one initial bout of vertigo) into a high insurance cost surgical appointment by scraping out a 7mm tiny, paper thin piece of wax in one ear in under 20 seconds and calling it a "removal of soft tissue growth in ear canal" and then, if that weren't enough, he went into the other ear with a tweezer saying there is "a little hair" in here and then fumbling the tweezer when I asked to see it, dropping the invisible hair that it supposedly held. That "little hair" was charged to insurance as "removal of FOREIGN BODY in ear"!!! He did this while I was in his chair without any explanation and just said "stay still". Did he take advantage of me because, as a long time patient, he knew I trusted him and that I had excellent 100% coverage insurance? Who knows? Many people do not pay attention to their insurance notifications, so he likely gets away with it. While I am well aware that many doctors are struggling with cutbacks in insurance payments, it is not fair to the patient to UPCHARGE/UPCODE insurance companies while permanently ALTERING A PATIENT'S PERSONAL MEDICAL RECORDS IN THE PROCESS!! In order to justify the SURGICAL charges to my insurance, he manufactured a RARE ear condition which I DO NOT HAVE and have NEVER HAD to explain the "growth" he supposedly removed from my ear canal. (No cutting, no blood and no stitches, just a 20 second scrape I didn't even feel) Then, he altered his chart notes to reflect his findings. If you go to this doctor, ask him to tell you what he is doing and why, BEFORE he does anything and read your insurance notifications as soon as they come in! You don't want your medical records to reflect ear surgeries that you didn't need and never had!!
