My experience at branch orthopedics has been filled with controversy and I'm saying that because…read moreI've had a list then professional experience with the receptionist desk in the billing department the problem with the billing department in the receptionist area they're very unprofessional To the point of being condescending and rude I don't mind express in part of my disdain and problem with them because over the billing they are presenting me a bill and it seems as though they having difficulty submitting it properly so that they can be paid properly because I am insured individual with two Insurance companies so it seems strange that they will be billing me over $1000 for treatment when I have coverage I wouldn't come to the office or any medical office without insurance well that just give you an insight on the receiving part of the business which I believe is a very important part of the business because when this is resolved I will not go back there that won't happen and it's a shame because as far as the medical professional meaning the doctor and the certified physician's assistant to bedside manner is impeccable their treatment plan is perfected and they administer excellent care I had I surgery with Dr. finale and I had the best results and outcome decreased pain after surgery and as I stated he's very caring and knows how to present himself as a professional and get Care in that same manner and is very sad to say that because of the billing department and the receiving end the receptionist area I will not return to that office and it said I have to go and look for another position especially based on the fact that I have a chronic condition that I need orthopedic care continuously so kudos to Dr Finuoli Branch Ortho and the Physicians assistant of branch orthopedics i'm just so sorry to say I really can't see myself coming back when I have to be received and such a deplorable unprofessional manner thank you very much for your care and your expertise I am going to leave my name because I don't mind being known expressing the truth this is Brenda Williams -Payne . The surgery went so well including the general anesthesia and I woke up not being sick or drowsy at all. They were prepared for every little thing at Stony Brook Hospital. I just got home yesterday after spinal surgery and except for some minor adjustments with pain medication I am feeling great. Walking, sitting, standing and showering by myself. I am very pleased with the surgery and especially Dr. Labiak. He kept in contact with my daughter after the surgery to explain everything to her but then also came to see me the next morning. He was wonderful. The wait for an appointment is pretty lengthy but now I can see why. Also the "open" hours for the office are a bit irregular so check the website for hours.

Met with the Physician Assistant, Tamara Hayes, who was awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to speak with me about my concerns and possible treatments. The facility has X-Ray capabilities in house too, which took all of 5 minutes to take and read. Received a referral for an orthopaedic surgeon for follow-up and due to the hard work of Hayes was able to get in for an appointment for the follow-up only a few days later.

I am 69 yrs old and I run Races. I have had cushion gel in both knees, fluid removed from a bakers cyst behind the knee. PRP injection in the left knee. And decided to have the PRP injected into the other. After feeling a pop in my leg, I realized something wasn't right and insisted my Wife take me to Stony Brook hospital. We naturally had to wait in a room in The ER for an easy 5 hours. I had several Residents check my leg and even some mobile X-rays taken and we where all convinced that it was nothing more than a bad muscle pull... and on my own volition, swore I would go to a Physical Therapist the very next day. It was at the point past midnight that I threatened to take the wheel chair and leave... check out or not. I finally got to see the Doctor in charge and as he was ready to sign me out, insisted he take a look at the leg. Within one second he told me I definitely tore my Quad Tendon. Not something I wanted to hear at 12:45AM. He proceed to text a Orthopedic Surgeon at that hour and said to go there first thing in the morning. Again, not something you want to hear at that hour. I said I wanted to check around and look into one who my Wife was scheduled to see later that week for knee problems she was also having. Come the next day, I found I wouldn't get to see him for a few days. It was then that I realized that if a Doctor was looking at my case at 12:45 and making an appointment for me... maybe I should check into this route. Early the next morning, my Son drove me to Doctor Justin Mirza's busy office and he immediately took me in and confirmed the obvious. He was upbeat but still instilled the necessity of taking care of this as soon as possible. He booked me into surgery the day after, made sure I got a quick check up through an Associate that day, and wound up pushing me in for an early surgery, once again, remaining upbeat and positive. After this three hour procedure, I had a full length cast and let's face it, who the heck wants that? I had proceeded to make all my necessary Doctor visits and then some, and can only say that not only is he one adapt, knowledgeable Surgeon, but unquestionably the most humane, caring and funny person you could come across. He even went to great lengths to make my cast as comfortable as possible... but that's another story. Today, six months later, I've had my last visit with him and not only received a clean bill of healing, but also the confirmation of how well the injury sight remains... which I continue to hear from all levels of medical professionals, throughout my therapy process. As a matter of fact, he has somewhat achieved "rockstar" status from my case with these professionals. Granted, my swimsuit modeling career is over, but it was never that lucrative to begin with (sic). While I have to say, I hope I don't need his services any time soon, I am truly glad to the Attending Doctor in Stony Brook, who had the good sense to steer to me in the right direction. He listens attentively to my concerns and seems genuinely interested in my well being. He usually has my back X-rayed in the office to monitor my condition. Dawn C, a licensed R.T., skillfully administered an X-ray today, and Dr. Goldstein interpreted the results. He assured me that my condition is stable despite the recent increase in intensity of my pain. He explained that I likely did something to aggravate my condition and that hopefully the pain will soon subside and, if not, I should make an appointment with a pain management specialist. Dr. Goldstein habitually prescribes physical therapy and medication and makes timely prescription renewals. He also suggests that I apply heat and cold packs on my back whenever necessary. The office staff is professional and skillful. Today I had a pleasant chit-chat with Siobhan, a receptionist who informed me about the pros and cons of different health insurance companies because Open Season on my job just finished. I highly recommend Orlin & Cohen. They certainly know what they are doing!
