My wife underwent a minor but still somewhat frightening procedure involving an epidural-like injection into her spine, to alleviate the pain and symptoms related to a pinched nerve between two vertebrae. Thankfully, she felt she was in good hands with Dr. Kafrouni who, despite looking a bit like a young John Kreese from Cobra Kai, was exceptionally caring, communicative, reassuring, knowledgeable, and clear in his descriptions of the procedure itself, as well as all after-care instructions. Whether this procedure will be the silver bullet that fixes my wife's issue has yet to be seen: the effects of the injection will take days to manifest, and a full vertebrae-replacement surgery is still in the cards if it doesn't). Either way, Dr. Kafrouni's insight into the nature of her suffering, the likelihood of it being transient versus permanent, the symptoms to watch out for (in case of the latter), and the path towards total recovery, in addition to his excellent surgical prowess and incredible bedside manner, made the whole experience so much less frightening and frustrating as it could have been. PeaceHealth as an entity may not be perfect (far from it), but surgeons like Dr. Kafrouni aren't far off the mark.

My good credit is very important to me and I always pay all my bills promptly. Receiving collection threats when a payment has not even been definitively requested is insulting and irritating. I will definitely look for a different surgical center should I ever need such services in the future.

She made me feel very comfortable and safe. The other staff was Beian, and he was just as nice, as well as the final RN before the procedure done by Dr.Polo. They kept asking me if I had any questions about anything before we proceeded to the next step, which made me feel even more secure about the procedure. When I woke up the ladies were so incredibly friendly and made the process as well as having a surgery could be. As someone who also works in the medical field, I was happy to answer the many many times they asked me to confirm my information for safety. They were prompt and on time. I would highly recommend this place for yourself or loved ones. Another thing, I noticed a few of these reviews mention a long wait time. While that may be an inconvenience, it is just because the staff members are working with other patients to ensure their procedures are going as planned, and looking out for the safety of each of their patients. If that patient was you, I'm sure you'd appreciate it too. The medical world is a very unpredictable world!

(i have had heart disease since 2006.) and still, they didn't keep a close eye on my blood pressure they were so concerned with sending me home that they failed to check on how i was. they just had me quickly sign things to get me out. i heard things like "she's the last one here" at 10:35, only an hour or so after i woke up from an invasive bladder surgery! the center instead gave my acquaintance the written aftercare instructions , which she just gave to me in the car to read. and i did have questions about how to help my throat and voice since they intubated me instead of running oxygen through my c-pap non-invasively, like legacy and providence do. scarey experience, but i believe my doctor did a good job on the surgery.

I then had to wait to schedule this until the injection was approved by Moda. Moda approved Efflexa, a certain brand, but this place doesn't have it. So I had to do the work to call Moda, and even the pharmacy where the injection comes from called me, before I got an approval letter for it. ROC said that they don't carry what was approved. What??????!!! Even Moda was confused. I'm just going to go to another orthopedic. I can't even call to talk to someone. Whoever replies to the texts lacks customer service. It has been about two weeks since I was there!! So Moda said to try someone else. Funny, they mentioned to me that ROC advertised Euflexxa. Tell your employees then. I was so incredibly disappointed.

Doctor wonderful was leaving on vacation, so he called another surgeon to fix his screw up. Surgery # 2 removed all of the dead tissue and place a mesh over the large hole in his foot. It took him 6 hours to fix the damage done by ROC orthopedic. All of this has been going on for going on 2 years. No apology. No concern expressed by doctor wonderful. Fast-forward to 10/25/2021. I found another surgeon because what Dr. Gellman did was complete…read morenegligence. I begged him to refer to me to physical therapy for my injury on each and everyone of my visits. I fractured my tibia and fibula in multiple places and required hardware that he put in from my ankle to my knee. He kept telling me it wasn't necessary, over and over again. I even went as far as calling physical therapists on my own and spoke with several about my situation and all of them said yes I needed PT but needed a written RX from my surgeon. My foot did not even sit flat to the ground, it was stuck pointed! I could not even stand straight and he still had the nerve to tell me, it wasn't necessary and wouldn't help my situation, that walking would be what helps my ankle. As of today, I found a new surgeon and he had to go in and fix everything Dr. Gellman did and I had to have another surgery and start all over again. My foot now is flat to the ground and I went through a total of 10 months of physical therapy! Unfortunately the damage is done and I am unable to move my ankle and it is completely fused and all I can do is move my toes. So thankful for my new surgeon and his team that helped me get to where I am today. I am not even sure how this man Dr. Gellman is still in practice! PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SEE THIS SURGEON EVER! BEWARE. I saw him for a fractured ankle this year from an accident. All around not a good experience with him or the staff. It took two phone calls to even get through to his medical assistant to get an appointment after being discharged from the hospital and that was just the beginning of ever trying to get through to anyone. On two occasions I had postoperative questions and it took three phone calls and five days later, I finally received a call from his PA and with the second call, I never received a phone call back. I was just like never mind I'll just wait for my follow up appointment to ask my questions. I still have a phone call and an email from three weeks ago that has never been returned. Terrible. Dr. Gellman was for the most part just okay. At times I wondered if we were dealing with the same injury. He did not at all have a good bedside manner. He was literally in and out in minutes, leaving me feeling frustrated. I left his office twice in tears. At one of my appointments I was trying to understand my injury and my healing process and he said "I am not trying to argue with you." He did not take the time to listen to me and my concerns. He came off very condescending. I knew at that moment that I was going to find another surgeon to take on my care and that's exactly what I did. I found an amazing orthopedic surgeon and his staff are incredible. I'm finally on my way to healing. i wish I would've done this months ago. I work for a surgeon at Providence Hospital and this type of behavior from Summit Orthopedic is completely unacceptable.

Reason being, Dr. Gellman has clinic ONE DAY a week! His MA was very apologetic, after hearing the repeated apologies, I realized it's part of her script.  Ultimately, my husband was seen.  I didn't know how to interpret Dr. Gellman's demeanor; he wasn't rude but he was standoffish.   He asked a few personal questions, then laid out the treatment based off what he saw, it was the most rushed office visit I've experienced.  He did ask if we had any questions, all while ushering us out the room.  After the consult we didn't receive a summary of the visit.   Then came the ordeal of surgery!  Before we left the office, we booked the surgery with his MA.  As the time neared, I thought it odd we hadn't heard anything from the office, MA, Dr., Anesthesiologist, nothing from anyone. After SEVERAL calls/messages left to the MA, I finally got a call back. She confirmed what I already assumed, they had cancelled his surgery. It was poorly handled and upsetting.  We had shifted our lives in preparedness for this surgery, that was now not happening.  At this point we had no choice but to wait and see what could be done.  We eventually got him booked the following week. The day of the surgery, we saw his PA first, whose just as impersonal. She didn't bother to introduce herself properly but did so after realizing we had NO clue who she was!  When we booked the surgery, we were told it would be a day surgery.  That too turned into an ordeal with an unexpected four day stay at the hospital!!  After all was said and done, my husbands medical needs were met, but the experience and interaction  was unpleasant.  Dr. Gellman is knowledgeable and a talented surgeon.  What he lacks is compassion and bedside manners!  I would suggest a training in unconscious bias would greatly benefit him.
