I was seen at The Vancouver Eye Care clinic by Dr. Sayge M. Heintzelman for swelling of my left…read moreeye. I explained to her that it has been two weeks since the swelling started and it has not gotten better. She looked at my eye and explained I have some clogged oil glands and recommended that I apply warm compresses and prescribed me an antibiotic due to possible infection. We discussed other options such as "topical drops" or draining the oil glands if my eye got worse. Two days later the swelling in my worsen towards evening time, so the next day I called to make an appointment to see a doctor. This time I was seen by Dr. Shauyene Hsieh. She walked into the exam room and asked me to explain what was going on, so I explained to her what was going on with my eye. She looked at both my eyes and said she is going to order me allergy drops, after I had already explained to her that I have been using allergy drops, warm compresses, and been on antibiotics for the last 2 weeks. I asked her if she can order me "topical antibiotic drops" she proceeded to laugh at me and said "topical" and antibiotic drops drops are the same thing. I felt humiliated, not only was this doctor not listening to a word I was saying but she was now laughing at me. I felt as if my medical needs were not being addressed and I was being rushed out. I explained to her that Dr. Heintzelman said that if my eye got worse that we can look at other options such as Topical drops. She snapped back at me and said it was not included in her notes and continued to ignore what I was saying. At this point my husband could see that I was getting frustrated so he asked her about steroid shot to drain the capped oil glands. She was very short with him and asked him if she should repeat the treatment plan which we just went over. It's expensive to see a Specialist. If I could have avoided seeing one I would have, but since I was in pain I had to come in twice in one week. There should never be a reason why a patient who is paying to see a provider be treated in such manner as I was. A patient should not feel afraid to ask questions because they are afraid the Provider might get upset with you or laugh at you for not using the correct medical terminology. Dr. Shauyene Hsieh was unprofessional, rude, and uncompassionate. She was slamming things down as we were leaving the room. No one should be treated the way I was by Dr Hsieh. It was unethical, and absolutely unacceptable. I walked out of the appointment feeling humiliated and without answers.

I visited recently and they were friendly and prompt. It is very clean too. I did not get glasses as I have Apple health coverage and they no longer take it for glasses, but they do for check ups. I wish they still did. There are onlt two place that do now. Mom warned me not to go to downtown location as they are very small. So I visited the Salmon Creek location. They also have one out towards Mill Plain/ Fishers Landing. I think it is great they now have three areas for wherever it is closest for us. The optomitrist who saw me is Sayge, really good at not poking you trying to get drops in, good humor, and she is not bad on the eyes too. Mom has a different person she sees and was pleased, which means to me that there must be several who are good. So why not try them out?

If you don't want to work there then quit and find another job. It's not our problem as the patient. We just want a copy of our prescription sent somewhere. It's not that big of a deal.

Ate a good meal and had a sleep for 16 hrs. My husband was giving me two kinds of drops I was prescribed during the nighttime and in the morning and pills before I went to sleep as well. I can tell you that I had no irritation or pain at all. If I would have to rate my pain - it would be zero. It was an amazing experience! Both doctors: doctor WILL (LASIK) and doctor TIAN (ICL) as well as all Will Vision team done a significant, amazing, great job. It's now 19 hrs after surgeries were done. I have 20/20 vision, I continue to have my drops every 4 hrs. I don't feel anything that would remind me I've ever had an eye surgery done, even though it was done 19 hrs ago. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this clinic WILL VISION & LASER CENTERS and the best doctor ever JACK TIAN! My ICL went so fast and smooth, I've not even realized it's started and it was done already! SO IMPRESSED! I would rate my experience as 100 out of 10. May the Lord reward you!

It was comfortable, yet formal for the care that patients needed. The front desk answered my questions and advised me what I needed to do. I was able to speak with another guest standing in line for her appointment and she was pleased with the professional care she's receiving. I have literature to read to help me decide which eye doctor/surgeon I'm going to see. I'll be back when I receive a call from them for the next step. Photos on line are 100% accurate.

One day after surgery I notice a marked improvement in my vision in the eye worked on. I have only two comments regarding the experience. First, customers should be reminded that shuttle transportation service is only provided if the patient requests it in advance of the appointment. Secondly, giving patients the option to dispense with the pre-surgical Christian prayer is appreciated. But providing customers with Christian literature as a post-surgery gift may not welcomed by more than a few. While Christian proselytizing might be welcomed in more conservative communities, leaving bibles in the waiting room are a more accepted practice in the Portland metro area.
