We highly, highly recommend Andrew McKinney for buying and selling in Boston. TLDR: knowledgeable, accessible, accountable, friendly, well-connected and well-regarded. My wife and I were referred to Andrew for our first-time home search/purchase in January 2020, could tell from the initial consult that he'd follow our lead on where and how we wanted to search, but he'd also be a valuable source of expert advice when we asked. As we searched Andrew worked well with our Zillow/Redfin searching, accompanied us on viewings in Arlington, JP, Roxbury, West Roxbury and Roslindale, got along well with our sometimes-well-behaved three-year-old son. Andrew was patient as our search evolved and moved south towards Roslindale, his advice was always backed up by other clients' experiences, and while he probably knew where we were going, he wasn't at all pushy as we realized ourselves what neighborhood best met our needs. Turns out Andrew is also very well-connected and well-regarded with other Boston brokers so when we zeroed in on Roslindale he used his network to find us a wonderful pre-market opportunity in March 2020. Three months into our new home, we're just thrilled. Andrew's work didn't stop at finding our home, he had advice on our offer, our contract, shopping for and getting our mortgage squared away, selecting an inspector and attorney, closing, and all the other home-buying chores. Andrew helped us sell our Boston (South End) apartment and we would recommend Andrew to anyone who is looking for a good real estate agent in Boston. We were physically located in California and hence were remote sellers (which presents challenges) however Andrew went above and beyond to provide his service. We tried previously selling this apartment earlier with another agent but could not, however with Andrew we sold this apartment at a fair value. Andrew was instrumental in finding a good buyer for the apartment. He helped us with the prep to make ready our apartment for the sale (including getting plumber or other service providers necessary to complete the buyers punch list). Our apartment was rented and occupied before the sale and Andrew independently coordinated with our tenant to figure out ideal showing times etc. We did not have to coordinate this with our tenant from California - convenient for us and efficient overall. Our buyers financing fell through the first time which presented anxious moments to us but Andrew was calm, helpful and proactive pursuing with the buyers agent, the new financing team etc to provide us updates and ensure that the next set of lenders were reliable (with they were). He also introduced us to the right real estate lawyers (Walter Pawlowski - who like Andrew was very good).
