After receiving a quote of over $1,000 for the bone graft--significantly more than the cost of the same procedure she received last year at her regular dentist for about a third of the price--we were understandably confused. We asked to speak with Dr. Drooger to better understand why the price was so inflated. When he entered the room, his demeanor was nothing short of unprofessional. His first words were, "Yeah?"--hardly a welcoming or respectful way to address a patient's concerns. When I introduced myself as her husband and tried to ask for a detailed explanation of the costs and the procedure, his only response was, "It costs this much because I went to school for 16 years." That was the extent of his explanation--no insight into the procedure, no breakdown of the charges, just a rude and dismissive attitude. We were left in disbelief at how we were treated. He didn't explain any of the procedure codes or why this bone graft was priced so much higher than the one my wife had received previously. Instead, he rushed out of the room without providing any further clarification, leaving us feeling dismissed and disrespected. After the encounter, we expressed our dissatisfaction with his behavior, but unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Although his dental assistant tried to answer our questions, the lack of professionalism and medical explanation left us with no confidence in proceeding with the surgery. We ultimately decided to leave and not go through with the procedure. The worst part is, that I would have probably paid for the overpriced bone graft had we been treated with basic dignity. My wife and I both took time off work for this appointment, only to be met with poor customer service and an unwillingness to address our concerns. We will not be returning and cannot recommend Dr. Drooger to anyone seeking quality care and professionalism. I would strongly recommend anyone considering dental work with Dr. Drooger to do additional research. From what I've gathered, this seems to be a common issue, and many others have had similar negative experiences. It's truly shocking that a doctor would respond this way to a patient simply asking questions about a procedure. Based on his unprofessional bedside manner, I can't imagine he provides quality medical care.

He is thorough, answers as many questions as I can throw at him, gracefully handles my MAJOR dental anxiety without judgement, and his staff are amazing. If you're looking for budget work done quickly, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for someone who does not cut corners (and who wants that with your health?), is up front with payments and treatment plan, and just generally makes a painful and anxiety-inducing situation easier than I highly recommend. His surgical skills and expertise on cutting edge practices are exemplary. 10/10

I've almost always been able to make appointments within my time frames and if they dont have any appts, they will call you if someone cancels to get you in! They also call to see if you want to come in earlier for your appts if they are moving fast or have cancellations that day. I love that!! This is no fancy chandeliered, trendy office, but its nice, clean and comfortable. Best part: they dont hassle and pester you for extra services. He doesnt put on the salesman hat of so many dental practices today. I also have tons of old dental work and over the past 25 yrs, other dentists have tried relentlessly to get me to remove old molar fillings and replace for no reason other than the "look". I never felt this pressure from Dr. D. He asked me if any were painful or bothering me, explained that if I wanted to get them replaced someday i could, and moved on. He is quick and matter of fact, yet is caring and answers questions graciously. He also sometimes answers the phone when you call! The hygienists here are professional and thorough. This practice is exactly what I hoped for: - No gimmicks like offering customers potential awards for a 5-star review. - No tricks like saying they accept insurance, while they are not on that provider's 'preferred' list. - No whacky photographers taking pictures of your teeth just as you show up. - No gimmicky office tours with gifts for nice reviews. - No tricks to make make a person spend more money than they have to. Yes, those things and more happened at another dental practice, so I was hesitant. Bogey Hills Dental was great to me. The Dr. and staff were extremely efficient and made the work seem like they could do it with their eyes closed. It was a real relief to find this practice. She is professional and compassionate at the same time. Hubby said his procedure was completely painless. Dr. Smith formulates a plan during your visit while looking at all your images on computer. She gives you several options (when possible) for the best outcome. She actually listens to your concerns and works with you.

If you must go here for dental work, make sure to get in writing that all your dental work will be covered by insurance as you expect before they do it, even if it was covered the last time you visited.

You have to constantly call and check on everything yourself. They quoted me a price of $1200 for some work after insurance was billed, but I owed $2800. I specifically asked, because I had another costly procedure done in the same insurance calendar year and was going to put off the second procedure until the new insurance calendar year, but was specifically told I would only owe $1200, well $2800 is quite different than $1200.
