I wanted to share my experience with this establishment, since it has been so remarkably below the bar of patient care that I've ever experienced in a dental practice. For reference, I have worked in the medical field for almost 20 years, so things like bedside manner register for me. Last week, I was seen to investigate some tooth pain. I was given a de sensitizer to hold off one of the teeth that was hurting (there was 2). The other tooth was written off as possible referred pain (it was not). As the other tooth pain emerged and has sustained for 4 days, I have been completely unable to furnish any help or meaningful communication from Chesterfield Smiles. Dr Moreno apparently went out of town, without leaving any systems in place that would deal with patients with dental emergencies. After a delay, I was called in an antibiotic, for pain that is not presenting as a gum infection (saturday). Sunday I was able to call, and reached a call center, of which the lady was polite, seemed to care, and said something would be called in after sharing with her the pharmacy details. Monday, after checking with the CVS, there was no prescription. Calling the office, Cameron was completely unhelpful, saying that there are no notes from the call yesterday. She fixated on a lack of notes, and that Dr Moreno was out of town. Providing some definitive treatment and relief to me as a patient, was not a priority. I am extremely disappointed in the patient care, and lack of attentiveness, and subsequent pain and lack of sleep over the past few days. This was fixable. Think twice before booking! read more

DO NOT GO THERE!!! Terrible lifetime health DAMAGE was done to my wife's upper molar. Dr. Moreno cut down a healthy molar No. 3 in her mouth and replaced it with a wrong crown. He failed to provide a good fitting crown of correct height and shape that she could bite on. He does not know how to use CEREC machine that mills crowns. Dr. Moreno lied that he would make just an mini-invasive overlay but he decimated original molar. Chesterfield Smiles clinic staff is rude careless and inhuman, especially dental assistant Dani. Dani treated my wife in a very condescending and humiliating manner, while being upset, scraping the prepared tooth, without doctor license and she made the tooth very sensitive. She did significant health damage, too. They kept us in a small cubicle for 4 days like hostages without food, they were unable to figure out how to do it correctly and did not know how to save data in CEREC memory. Since Dr. Moreno`s "treatment" my wife is on liquid or soft diet, unable to chew and she has to take opiates against pain. They triggered TMJD pain. Criminal dentistry! It was a very traumatizing experience for my wife. I was present and witnessed the entire treatment of my wife. A half a year after Dr. Moreno failed treatment around Thanksgiving 2025, my wife still has a hole/space there and she still cannot chew till now, May 2026. Worst dental office I've been to. First visit there was for a cleaning. The assistant rushed through it and didn't even floss. She tried to get me to leave before seeing the dentist. Then I went there for a filling and then had to come back since it wasn't filed down all the way. It still isn't right and hurts to eat. They left the desensitizer on way too long, and I got severe chemical burns that damaged the taste buds on the inside of my cheek and tongue. They also tried to bill my insurance more than what I signed the paper in office for. Avoid at all costs :( read more

I highly recommend this business. I made an appointment through my insurance. The dentist had to leave on emergency. I took off work that day for the appointment. So I was kind of frustrated. The company called me and asked if I could come to the next day. They were very professional, courteous and prompt with me. Things happen. I had to reschedule it 3 times on my end. . They were amazing. They understood my request. No one was ever rude or demeaning when I had to keep rescheduling. So the next day when I got there they apologized again for the first appointment. It made the time go by much faster and was actually a learning experience. They also had technology that seemed much more modern than any dentist I had ever seen. Due to a dentist who frankly screwed up, 2 years of pain /issues, I've been to 5 dentists to get things corrected. You can't find a better staff and dentist to address any concern possible. I've been unfortunate to have dentist induced problem that cascaded and I tried any dentists to get it corrected properly. I'm lucky to have found this place. They have specialist for each step, and the dentist is more involved than anywhere else I've been. I had one great dentist before, but he was not in network and he told me he was.. So I got it partially fixed, but have an ongoing issue. Finally, a dentist who can solve my last challenge properly, after 6 other dentists couldn't! Impressive that they make their crowns in-house, as an option, where you don't have a temporary tooth and is complete in under 2 hours, and they could have done this on my first visit! They have the latest tools and digital x-rays, 3d scan, and laser guided cleanings for advanced gum issues that require deeper cleanings, if that happens for you. They have 4 months zero interest available in case the bill is more than you can afford at the time. You have a personal television with remote to keep you company, a caring staff, although I wish it was mounted higher so you can view your favorite cable channe while leaning back during each step. Dr Mainhurst is great and so are all of his staff. I had to get a cleaning because I have not had one for over 3 years and also had a few cavities that need fillings. My first visit was covered by my insurance completely. But Elizabeth that handles the insurance and schedules appts also told me ahead of time what my bill would be for the next visit and let me know if anything changed. She is very polite and has a good sense of humor. I love coming here because I know I will get treated nicely and that I will always know what the cost of something will be before the procedure. Met with Dr. Dakoda and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The front desk staff were friendly, the X-ray technician was very friendly, and Dr. Dakoda was both knowledgeable and caring. He took the time to show me my X-rays and explain the issues with my wisdom teeth. I left feeling well taken care of and confident in the next steps. They do not clean your teeth thoroughly and the hygienist didn't even floss on my last visit. She literally just dabbed toothpaste on some of my teeth and that was it. They don't do a good job explaining what needs to be done and it seems like the staff constantly keep leaving. Dr. Mainhurst was good but then he left and im getting close to leaving myself. They do have better technology than I have seen in other offices and can make a crown on the spot. Other than that some work needs to be done. read more

Very disappointed in this organization. They are more interested in the insurance game than treating the patient. They told me that I needed a filling, it took Dr. Pucel literally 3 min to do it. Turns out it was an existing filling I have had for some time. The age was such that the insurance would pay for a new one. I didn't need a new one, they were just looking for the $. They also didn't say it was an existing one and lead me to believe it was a new cavity. Also, they hand out the fluoride like candy, they don't even apply it, you have to do it yourself. I instructed them we only want it if it's covered. They gave it to everyone in my family and only 1 of us was covered. Just like everything thing else you need to be diligent on your own health. Expecting doctors to be looking out for your best interest is a thing of the past. And to top it off...I find out their staff coded my husband's and I's x-rays as orth vs a routine x-ray. To the tune of $180 each out of our pocket. Of course, they don't provide you with an itemized bill, they just combine it with everything else and ask for your card. When I called the follow week for the itemized billing, they said they would mail them to me, and they never did. I have been looking for a wonderful dental location in chesterfield for a long time. Let's be honest, going to the dentist is NOT my favorite thing to do. While clean teeth is a top priority, the idea of teeth scratching and my mouth being prodded at, is not my favorite scenario. However, I will say I have not minded coming to this location. Everyone is kind, the office is large, spacious and pristine. From Beginning (check in) to middle (X-rays) to the end (teeth cleaning) the process is smooth and quick. Everyone I interacted with while there was intelligent and could answer any question I had and made me feel very comfortable. While I haven't required any further interventions other then my 6 month cleanings, I'm sure I would be satisfied with anything being done there. I felt like Andrea Armstrong DDS, the dentist, cared about me and my experience there and wasn't rushed in and out like most of my previous experiences at other places has been. She took her time and was the one who even cleaned my teeth. If you are looking for a new and wonderful location in chesterfield, I'd give it a shot. I believe they offer great first time cleaning deals as well (worth a peek)! I never thought I'd rave about a dental practice because going gives me terrible anxiety. Run as far and as fast away from here as possible. I had my teeth cleaned, which my insurance covers 100%. I had to argue with the woman for 10 minutes because my insurance plan (Delta Dental PPO) covers this at 100%. She insists that it is only covered at 80% (only if they are a Delta Preferred dentist - they are not they are PPO -100% covered). She also claimed that they would probably deny the claim and I had to pay $102 at the time of service. This is complete BULL. These con artists stole my money. read more

Had a tooth extracted and set up for an implant. It's taken awhile, with bone that had to grow back, then I tore my rotator cuff and surgery for that delayed the implant, then COVID, but they finally got the anchor in and set and in a few days I'll have the implant placed. Over all this time, they changed some doctors, but continuity of care was great. New docs stepped in knew what was going on and what was happening next. read more

New Patients beware! If you are a new patient listen very carefully to what a new patient visit includes. Claim is x-rays, dental exam and CLEANING IF TIME PERMITS. Doesn't matter when what time you make the appointment - seems always has that "time permits" qualification. In my opinion they never have any intent to provide any cleaning during this initial visit. Yes you get x-rays (some seemed blurry), dentist does examine your teeth but most of the time is spent with a "patient advocate" which is essentially a biased sales pitch. Clear intent seems to be to push you towards the highest cost options even if your medical insurance does not cover. If you don't have insurance then new patient visit is $59, but if you have insurance rest assured they will charge you (and your insurer) full fees (which very likely will be significantly higher). Sadly this appears to be run like a franchise business (probably owned by a large private equity fund) were maximizing profit is king vs by a local dentist wanting to proved quality care as the foundation for a long term patient relationship. read more
