I had fears of an eye infection, and sought out an ophthalmologist. Based solely on Michelle's…read morereview I checked out the training of Dr. Lindsey and found we both attended the same med school. That was enough for me. I scheduled an appointment (I was able to be seen the next day) and the visit went smoothly. The office staff was friendly and efficient, and Dr. Lindsey was delightful. Every good thing Michelle said about Dr. Lindsey was true for me, too. We had a good time chatting about faculty we knew in common. My fears of an eye infection were groundless (my discomfort was most likely due to allergies so she gave me some eyedrops). I had her do a full refraction and eye exam since I was already there. She found my current eyeglass prescription was fine and didn't need to be changed, and that my eyes were perfectly healthy (she said they were likely the healthiest she'd see all day). I'll see her again in a year, and look forward to it. If you need an ophthalmologist who is well-trained in diseases of the eye as well as the normal eyeglass and contact lens fitting, then I recommend Dr. Lindsey. Other physicians who are members of the group practice (The Eye Institute of Austin) appear to be equally stellar in their pedigrees.

She listens well and proposes workable solutions for every little complaint - like loading me up with samples of various eye drops to try with my finicky gas permeable lenses. Her staff is excellent, as well, and for as long as I've been seeing her, she's had the same assistant, the same optometrist, the same contact lens expert - the longevity in this office just says something. Also, she hates waiting at the doctor's office, so she works hard to stay on schedule, which I so appreciate. Doctors who realize that their patients' time is valuable, too, are much too rare. I'd recommend Dr. Lindsey without reservation.

I noticed double vision in the hospital. It was in my downward gaze only. I went to a number of neuro-ophthalmologists, but none could help. I went to a free meeting with Dr. O'brien at OCVT and decided to try it. Sylena was my assigned therapist, and I enjoyed my meetings with her and the exercises she showed me. The atmosphere at OCVT was friendly and hopeful! I made some progress on some of the testing, as I healed and exercised my eyes and perception. My double vision didn't change, which was disappointing. Then, in 2023, my double vision somewhat abruptly changed and impacted more of my field of vision, noticeably moreso when I was tired. I went to some eye doctors and tried a prism lens on one eye. The prism helped my vision for driving, but I didn't adapt well to it. In November of 2024, I started another program with OCVT, this time working from home online. I asked for Sylena as my therapist again and was lucky to get a spot on her schedule! We met weekly for a year, and every few months, I had testing at the OCVT office. I was able to see a little better, especially if I wasn't tired. Sylena is a joy! She was very patient with me and worked hard to find exercises for me and to explain things to me.

And unless my memory is failing, his father (Dr. Mitchel Wong) treated my mother's cataracts in the 1980s. I have always been impressed by the state-of-the-art skills and equipment Austin Eye maintains. I'm also impressed that the Wongs have chosen to share their expertise by endowing an eye institute at the University of Texas at Austin. My most recent personal experience with Austin Eye was surgery for lens replacement. While some have derided the facility on Bee Caves Rd as factory-like, I would counter that with the fact that consistent good practices yield consistently good results. I felt well cared for throughout the process, and the results (my excellent recovery and visual acuity) speak for themselves. In the event there had been any problems, I was given Dr. Wong's direct cell number and email. The Austin Eye facility is beautiful, modern, and well-maintained. The same may be said of the older location along Jollyville Rd. I highly recommend Austin Eye for their expertise, state-of-the-art equipment set, and very positive and helpful office staff.

To come back for a checkup thinking part of the initial dole out $3,800 INSANE!! would address my left eyebrow being so arched I look like I'm making a face all the time would be corrected. As well as still having so much movement in my forehead I have more that 4 lines in it still. I have hard lumps on corners of my mouth that when massaged or rubbed it causes extreme pain. Uneven lips. Everyone else including the provider I saw in Florida works give you a touch up to correct the things that looked not right or in this case plain awful/and didn't expect to pay extra money to Sheila to make it right. Not everyone who comes through your doors is a stay at home wife who fills her day with Pilates and Botox for fun. I work very hard and expected ad I asked for to not look like a clown or like I had a bunch of work. Having the left eyebrow raised permanently not for several weeks definitely falls into the clown category. Very disappointed
