Looking for someplace casual to dine, Andrew's American Pizza Kitchen came highly recommended by the couple we were meeting. It was a really great choice! We began with two salads... a small HAIL, CAESAR! made with Romaine, parmesan reggiano, and croutons, and a small PEAR & BLEU made with Butter lettuce, radicchio, sliced pear, gorgonzola, candied pecans, sweet vidalia onion dressing. Both were large enough to share with our significant others. ;-) For our entrées we chose three different pizzas... a large crispy, thin crust DALLAS STYLE PIZZA BOLOGNESE with Signature bolognese sauce covered in mozzarella, provolone, reggiano and creamy, fresh ricotta, a small crispy, thin crust DALLAS STYLE VEGGIE DELIGHT with mushrooms, green bell pepper, black & green olives, red onion, and tomato, and a small SIGNATURE DETROIT STYLE rectangular pizza with brick cheese, Detroit sauce and caramelized cheese edges. All three were different and excellent in their own right! The vibe in the restaurant was very lively and upbeat. While the main dining room was a bit loud, our table was in a smaller adjacent side room that was a bit quieter and made for a more intimate dining experience. The food and service were both outstanding and the cost very reasonable. I had joined the Andrew's American Pizza Kitchen Mailing List and received an immediate discount on our total dinner ticket. not sure why I keep thinking things are going to be better... came here for a birthday lunch. service was non-existent..... no drink refills, no check in, had to flag other server for tea. no acknowledgement of birthday. bill was incorrect. no offer of lunch special. later told " it is on the menu" pizza was cooked but not crunchy on the outside of a deep dish. they did not hire an engineer to install air system. when complained about how cold the restaurant was, we were told the cooks in the back get hot by the ovens. really???? you didn't think about that? we left quickly due to cold temps, pizza getting cold very fast, and no service. third strike. We popped in here about two days before Christmas do a quick lunch. It was our first time trying it and didn't really know what to expect. (I'll also add that I'm married to a New Yorker, so pizza can sometimes spark arguments living in Dallas, lol.) It wasn't busy at all, which kind of worried us. But the service was excellent either way. We just ordered a small pizza - Little Italy - and we did the NY style crust. We usually end up bringing leftovers home, but we didn't really need to so we went with a small. We DEVOURED it! It was tasty and delish. I actually can't believe I've never reviewed this place. We order Andrew's on uber eats ALL THE TIME. This is a house favorite. The Detroit style pizza here is my favorite Detroit style pizza in Dallas. The cheese and the crust is actually perfect. You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. I've tried the Chicago deep dish and the New York style pizza. We're really enjoyed all of them. We also get the cheese bread as well. I've been to the restaurant once, it is spacious! I will say, we do prefer ordering versus eating there. The one time we went, the service was a bit slow and we were the only ones there, but can't knock off a star for that, because the pizza is THAT good! read more

There are two good reasons that I love Andrew's pizza. First the pizza is awesome. They have a lot of crust options ranging from Chicago deep dish to Philly crispy thin crust. I personally love the Dallas style crust which is thin, but not cracker thin. There are so so many fresh toppings. I always love jalapeños on pizza and I appreciate the choice of fresh or pickled. The protein serving is ample and there are 9 cheese choices. The other best about Andrew's is the beer on tap. It's worth coming here for the Dirk beer tap handle! We loved Picasso's when we lived in DFW. My grandson has it on the top of his list. We dined in after his acting class was over for a treat. So many good things on the menu! The masterpiece is my old favourite. Our grandson assembled his personal, particular pizza. We had the spicy sweet for a change up. All great and delivered promptly even with a full house on a Friday. Our server was great and patient! It was our first time in this location since moving out to E Texas. The pizza is bland and boring. We've been here about 5-10x but after last nights order (coming out to $80 for takeout before tip) I'm ready to call it quits. I think my favorite aspect of the pizza is the flavor of the sauce. The crust though seriously lacks taste. I even did the Dallas butter crust upcharge, which sounded like it would help add much needed flavor, but they forgot to add it. Cool. There was barely any cheese on last nights pies. And with each topping being at least +$2.50, those BYO pizzas get overpriced quick! I just can't justify the value. I tried to dress mine up with seasoning salts and hot sauces at home. Shrimp were cooked perfectly, plump & juicy. The garlic toast was great too. The chicken sandwich was also perfect and the breast was not at all dry. The fruit cup was not the usual honeydew melon & whatever was cheapest. It had pear, berries, apples--outstanding. I had pizza there before and it was fantastic. Firstly our waiter, which I didn't get his name, was great and patient with us since it was our first time, and he guided through all the pizza options etc. We got a white detroit style, a small dallas style pizza, and the tortilla soup. The Detroit style was by far my favorite, while the dallas style kinda just reminded me of frozen pizza tbh. My dad said the tortilla soup was good tho. I had heard that this was one of the best pizza places in DFW, but it didn't live up to that description. They have several different styles of pizza on the menu, such as Philly, Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Dallas. I was with a large group and none of us had heard of Dallas style. We ordered several of the styles to try them out, but when you have people at the table who previously lived in Chicago and NY, you have quite a challenge. The Chicago style had the tall crust but it was only filled about half way. It looked like a fallen soufflé. The Detroit pizza came out at the end of the meal because the kitchen forgot about it. Overall, it just wasn't a great experience. Most everything tasted fine, but the rest of the experience overshadowed the food. It's not likely I'll be back. read more

Excellent service, food quality and atmosphere We decided to grab pizza on a Saturday night and stumbled on this gem. Our server, Josh, was very welcoming and provided us with attentive service throughout our dinner. He thoroughly answered our questions and made sure we had a great dining experience. I ordered this and added shrimp. It is very heavy on cheese even with "light cheese" requested as it includes the "brick cheese " AND mozzarella. This unfortunately isn't clear on the menu so I had to get it remade but they were very accommodating. If I ordered this again, I'd ask for light cheese and no mozzarella. Flavor wise it would have been a 10/10 but the overwhelming cheese brings it to 8/10 Overall I would highly recommend and will definitely visit again to try other dishes. read more

I've driven past Andrews several times but hadn't been until family tried it and said it was great! The pizzas are huge super deep dish and very good! 4 of us easily split a single large pizza with leftovers! I've heard the calzones are also great and they have excellent marinara sauce. There are several big TVs inside (mounted unusually high) and they have a very nice patio on the off chance that there's not much road noise. You can order ahead To-Go or eat inside where I always appreciate the decent size glasses, cloth napkins and real metal utensils! Service was terrible! They were understaffed. They had open tables but couldn't seat any more guests due to lack of help, so all stools at the bar were filled. It was our first experience there, so not too positive. Ended up having a Detroit pizza at the bar and it was fine. Bright star of the night was Blanca!!! We had been wanting to try this place forever because we drive by it all the time and it always seems packed! We finally had the opportunity last Friday evening. We popped in after running errands and did not have reservations. Although the place was packed, they were able to seat us at a table in the overflow room between the main dining area and the patio. First impression, the restaurant is beautiful. I was expecting it to look like a typical pizza joint or a sports bar, but it is actually more upscale with blue lighting, dark wood and upholstery. Very chic! Don't get me wrong, there are TVs everywhere, but that is a good thing! We confirmed they play the sound for big games - like the Cowboys - too! The hosts were friendly and quickly accommodated us with a table. We settled in to reviewing the menu and our server Giorgio stopped by to take our drink orders and explain in detail the various types of pizza they offer. We decided to start with the Italian chopped salad and Giorgio was so nice to offer to split it into two bowls so that we could easily share. The salad was delicious! Served in chilled bowls, the veggies were crisp and included hearty portions of various meats and cheeses. It also came with a tasty herb dressing and the portion size was massive. I wanted to save room for pizza so I ended up taking half of my half of the salad home! We love Detroit style pizza. So, we went with that and topped it with pepperoni, mushroom and sausage. Again, like the salad, the pizza size was massive and so delicious! They make everything from scratch and you can definitely tell from the quality of the pizza. The dough was sweet, the tomato sauce was a bit spicy with big chunks of tangy tomatoes. Tons of cheese that was perfectly crisp along the sides in the Detroit style tradition! Honestly, if I ordered this again, I wouldn't even add toppings because the crust, sauce and cheese were perfection! We ended up taking over half the pizza home. I would give this place 10 stars instead of 5 if I could. It is that good! We can't wait to go back again. Definitely for the pizza and to try other items on the menu as well. Thanks again to Giorgio too because it was freezing in the corner of the restaurant where we were seated and I simply cannot enjoy a meal when I am cold. Found this Pizza spot on Yelp after a late night run to Central Market. I did look at a few reviews from my fellow Yelp Elites (not all friends). However I'll always check out a few reviews whether good or bad to decide on if it's worth giving a place my energy, and monies. I called the restaurant a man named Hector picked up the phone. He was very polite, offered friendly customer service over the phone which was impressive at 16 minutes before closing. Normally places will let the phone ring busy or not in hopes that customer will hang up. I've worked in the restaurant industry and firsthand witnessed some shaking my damn head moments. I was walking around this very spacious restaurant and made my way up to bar while I waited for my Supreme pizza to be prepared. The bar mixologist had a very positive attitude. He started conversing with me about everything under the nights stars. This is definitely a good vibe to go in a watch some sports, kick it with big parties, or just a night hangout by yourself. I lived in Chicago for most of life. Finding good Chicago style pizza in DFW is really impossible....until now. I made my own with extra zesty sauce, sausage, mushroom, on Deep Dish crust and cooked extra. To the Andrew's staff....a home run. It was the best pizza by far since I left Chicago 3 years ago. Dining tonight was hindered by harsh lighting. The LED fixtures seem to be 5000 K or higher. The bluish hue isn't conducive to comfortable dining. During the daytime it makes little difference. Italian restaurants usually use 3000K lights . Other than this negative there is much to enjoy here. read more
