The Androscoggin Riverwalk is a good size walk and is well lit for those who prefer to walk late at night, especially if you work all day. You can access it from several points including adjacent to TD Bank, at Great Falls Plaza area, across the street by Grittys and down by the two parks along Main Street. The start of the Riverwalk is within easy walking distance of the Hilton Garden and on the other side of the river is the Hampton Inn. If you feel adventurous you can head towards the falls and there is a trailer that leads to an observation deck that overlooks the falls themselves. On a day where the locks are open, you may get some over-spray, but the observation deck is where they launch the fireworks from every 4th of July. The path does connect with the railroad bridge bringing you back to the Lewiston side at Rail Road park where they have concerts once in a while as well as the yearly Great Falls Balloon Festival. The next time I get down the Riverwalk, I will be sure to get some photos and post them of some of the views you will experience.

After having rented from Paddle Maine 2 summers ago (which p.s their rental process is seamless, simple, well organized and inclusive-ie-they knew we would need paddles and PFD's too) my certain someone couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had. But the price of paddle boards, like all sports equipment, can start moderately high and quickly skyrocket. Back to the point...I needed a gift, I wanted it to be a great surprise. I stopped in to paddle Maine on a whim and I am so happy I did. I asked tentatively about this board we rented (thinking perhaps id get him a gift certificate). The man there was responsive, knowledgable and joy of joys suggested perhaps I'd like to buy an old rental. Yes! So he called their sister store (Seaspray) and had the two best boards pulled out for me. Before I left, he recommended a paddle (and appreciated my ability to pay a minimal price). Off I went. The boards were out front and waiting for me to choose. The young man there showed me how to change the fin and arranged for me to get it home (cause VW beetles don't exactly accommodate an 11' board on a whim!). They cleaned it up, gave it a good scrub and off I ran to figure out how one hides away an 11' long gift. Truly, they care about their product. They're friendly and happy to help. They're not judging the marginally informed nor the people in lower price brackets. If you want to rent an easy beginner board, but a fancy pro fiberglass board, need a new leash, wetsuit or wet bag...stop in to Paddle Maine or Sea Spray. You won't be disappointed.

I work with adults with disabilities, out in the community. So this is a very special spot to come for some fresh air and exercise! To make it even more special; every April they do a painted rock Easter Egg Hunt. You follow the trail, and find the eggs hidden in nature. Don't take them! Leave for others to see. There was a good amount of signage. BUT My biggest issue was they split the difficulty into only 2 levels. Absolutely bullcrap. That was by far the most difficult trail I've ever done. There should've been at least 3-4 levels of difficulty. If I had know it was that intense, I never would've gone. While the amount of signage was good, it was too vague. I read that it's 2.2 miles, but based on the signage I believe it's about 2.5 miles. The wood plank bridges were unsettling as heck to cross. The tree roots are sticking out of the ground and they grew out weird directions so lots of places to trip. Lots of areas where I had to jump down and strategically plan my descent otherwise I would've broken an ankle for sure. This is NOT for beginners. Maybe not even intermediate I'd say. I'm not in the best shape, but I've always been able to do intermediate level trails. The scenery at the very top was absolutely not worth the hassle. Definitely have to be careful at the top because it's absolutely a hard drop off cliff with lots of pointy trees and rocks. I'm giving a 3 because even though I hated it, it's probably a good trail for advanced to expert hikers. I need you to tell me if it's going to be that intense BEFOREHAND

Tom Anderson is doing what he loves, and it's hard to not feel that infectious passion he has for the escape room culture when coming here. This business isn't housed in the flashy of buildings or a destination town, but that doesn't matter. What matters are the creative worlds you step into once the door behind you is closed. You'll forget where you are and you'll forget who you really are (am I bank robber? am I zombie apocalypse survivor?). The only thing that matters? Getting. Out. Annnnnd, even if you don't, there will still be a friendly smile escorting you out of your failed game and offering you some candy! As with every escape room I IMPLORE YOU to do this with friends. Escape Rooms usually only suck when you get thrown into doing them with people you don't really know (and can't yell at, push over, and literally fall down on top of, and still be cool with when the game's over). I've had the pleasure of doing a couple rooms here now, and - I think this is a sign of an exceptionally run business - I can't wait to come back. Escape Room 207 is a perfect place to get your toes wet in this immersive gaming experience. Tom (owner/operator) has created some amazing puzzles paired with great themes. The rooms are well themed and have some unexpected surprises - including one that I haven't seen anywhere else. I'm looking forward to returning here in the future to try out his other rooms. Definitely worth the drive out of Portland proper. Check it out! You won't regret it.
