This is an amazing escape room experience created by someone who has clearly done their research. And what a difference that makes in the overall game play, theme, and player immersion. Tom Anderson is doing what he loves, and it's hard to not feel that infectious passion he has for the escape room culture when coming here. This business isn't housed in the flashy of buildings or a destination town, but that doesn't matter. What matters are the creative worlds you step into once the door behind you is closed. You'll forget where you are and you'll forget who you really are (am I bank robber? am I zombie apocalypse survivor?). The only thing that matters? Getting. Out. Annnnnd, even if you don't, there will still be a friendly smile escorting you out of your failed game and offering you some candy! As with every escape room I IMPLORE YOU to do this with friends. Escape Rooms usually only suck when you get thrown into doing them with people you don't really know (and can't yell at, push over, and literally fall down on top of, and still be cool with when the game's over). Escape Room 207 is a perfect place to get your toes wet in this immersive gaming experience. Tom (owner/operator) has created some amazing puzzles paired with great themes. It is clear that the puzzles are well thought out and have continuity (trust me - this matters). Escape Room 207 - This is too funny!!! - Escape Games Near Me - Topsham, Maine

Like the product of a rocking one night stand between Saw and Indiana Jones, the better escape rooms are twisted mindgames that lead to secret rooms and puzzles, some frustration, and ultimately either extreme satisfaction or bitter defeat. Maine Escape Games in South Portland has been the shining example of doing these right. An escape room in Portland (that I'll leave unnamed) is the utter disaster that happens when you do it wrong. Fortunately, Escape Room 207 is every bit the equal of Maine Escape Games and well worth the easy commute to Topsham. Bluntly, owner Tom has killed it. It's just so impossible to describe without ruining the surprises. It will take all of the brainpower and communication you can muster (so get a group...no strangers!) to escape from these devious rooms. We somehow burst out with 3 minutes left and without killing each other in the process. Like a wise man once said, winter is coming. Escape Room 207 - Escape Games Near Me - Topsham, Maine

The short version: I LOVE it! If you love escape rooms/puzzles/mental challenges...go! The longer version: I don't write a lot of reviews(which I'm trying to get better about), but I do go to a LOT of escape rooms. Escape Room 207 is my favorite in the area. I've recently done the Wonderland and Date Night rooms. But it all started with the Bank Heist room... We went to that on a whim as 3 adults and 1 child. Now, I don't know about you, but when I take a child/children with me to an escape room, it changes the dynamic. I want them to have fun, so I let them try the codes/locks, take a little longer to explain what a puzzle needs us to do, etc. Basically, I don't go "full-steam". After doing Bank Heist, we realized the quality of these escape rooms! It was eye opening. We knew right then that any other room we do here was going to be adults only! The competitive piece of me just had to be let loose on the other rooms without having to worry about someone else's level of involvement. (Sorry kids!). Wonderland: So months later we went back as a group of adults to do Wonderland. And it was fantastic!! We were a group of 5 fairly experienced escapers. From the start there are multiple things to work on so we all had something to do. And that keeps going through most of the room. There's not that single-threaded route to all the puzzles that some rooms have where you all have to stand around one activity. The puzzles are of a great variety. And some were things that I hadn't seen before. I love those "aha" and "that was cool" moments. I highly recommend this room, but know that it's not going to be easy... but it will be fun. Date Night: Last but not least, I did date night with my husband. This is for ADULTS only ... and that's not just my rule :). It's only for two people and you are handcuffed together trying to find the key before your parents show up for a visit. This was a fascinating new aspect for doing an escape room. It really makes you work together as a team. One person can't start looking here while you look over there. You have to do everything together! I loved it. It changed our strategy not to mention inhibited our movement. And again there were original and creative puzzles to solve. Conclusion: Love it! While you don't feel like you've walked into a movie set... that doesn't matter. The creativity and originality is so impressive! In talking to the owner Tom, you realize how much he enjoys this... And are also in awe that these ideas came from his brain. I can't wait to go back for the next room. read more

A spoiler free review- Simply special- an excellent experience with our group of four! The owner was super nice and talkative as we waited for the group to get ready. The check in area is on the first floor, while the room we did- Escape from Neverland, was on the third floor. The parallel puzzle construction allowed our group to be working on multiple things at once, and as we got stuck, we rotated or changed who was working on what to get some fresh eyes on it. Don't let their other offerings fool you- this room is totally family friendly! Though some puzzles might be harder for little ones to finish, I could definitely see this as a great room for teens or older who were looking for a good way to spend an hour-fifteen. If you're in the area, make a stop in. This is easily one of my most favorite rooms (40+ under the belt, now!) And I'll certainly be making a stop back here again if we're in the area. An easy 5 stars, everyone should give it a shot. read more

:)))))))!!! This was soooo fun! Our son and daughter inlaw celebrated their anniversary by having bought tickets for 12 of us to go and try two of their escape rooms, the zombie one and the zodiac one and it was a blast. We were split up into two groups and each group did both of those escape rooms. It was fun trying to figure out the puzzles and making it out of one room into the next room. The owners let us know, they have 2 new rooms they are working on and we can't wait for them to be completed!! I highly recommend trying this place out for a very fun filled time!! read more

Escape rooms can go one of two ways... really great or really terrible. Luckily, Escape Room 207, rocks the "great" label. The puzzles are unique and well thought out. If you love escape rooms, this is right up your alley. 207 doesn't try to go overboard with fancy tricks, special effects, or red herrings. I always find it hard to write reviews about escape rooms. I'm not gonna tell you what to expect. I'm not gonna tell you anything about the puzzles. I'm just gonna tell you, this one is awesome. In my most recent escape, my group got out in just the nick of time, with less than 3 minutes left. This is the first room I've been in the forces you to listen to each other... that's all I'll say. WE CONQUERED THE ROOM!!!!! I've been here before, but it was an inorganic experience, so I could review. Now that I've been back (back, back, back AGAIN), I LOVE THIS BUSINESS EVEN MORE. While sometimes it is nice to go to an easier escape room with less experienced people (read: Great Aunt Barbara, who is a little bit less logical and maybe a little excitable), this escape room is for those who want a challenge!! While not irrationally difficult, Tom (the owner/operator) makes an effort to make each room different, unique, and more engaged! Expect the unexpected!!! It is really clear that a lot of thought and organization goes into each puzzle. There aren't really a ton of red herrings and there are a lot of varied puzzles. I will definitely be back. This is well worth the 25 minute car ride and multiple trips to try each room!!! read more

Possibly the best escape room I have ever done. If you are near Topsham, ME this place is well worth it, Wonderland was amazing. This is their hardest room, we had two very experienced puzzlers and two newbies and managed to escape the 75 minute room with 4 minutes to spare. escaperoom207 did a great job, the room looks great, the puzzles were fun and interesting, there were also a few twists along the way, good times Would certainly do another one of their rooms when I am in the area again. read more

This place was a challenge and a lot of fun! We visited here on 3-18-17 there were 6 of us in the group, it was only the second time I have ever done an escape room. Some members of our group had never done an escape room and one member of the group has done 4. We all had a great time here!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful!! They will give you hints if you get stuck, up to three during the course of the game. This is something everyone of any age would have fun doing. I would highly recommend that you go check Escape Room 207. If you're looking for a fun and challenging activity that everyone can participate in, this is a great place to visit. Escape Room 207, WOW!! We had such a great time. The room is fun and challenging. There are some very cool aspects I've never seen before. I've done 4 other escape rooms in the past. You're able to get 3 clues if you find yourself in a bind and need a little help. The owner is super friendly, fun and encouraging. I've done a handful of different escape rooms at different locations at this point and Escape Room 207 is truly fantastic! Recently completed the Wonderland room which has been my favorite. I have a group of folks that I do escape rooms with and have been a majority of the rooms in Maine at this point. We have done all of Tom's rooms and they are really great with diverse themes. You can see how the business has evolved from the first room as well to the newest addition in Wonderland, which was our favorite. Date Night is also great because sometimes you can't always get a group together for a room. If I were to share anything that I did not like about the rooms is that some of the rooms involve more math than I would like - but realistically when looking at an escape room and puzzle categories - math is part of that equation (I just happen to prefer more logic and connective type puzzles). We have done several of Tom's events in the area as well including the Amazing Race and dinner theater. Tom is a really nice guy and puts a lot of effort into what he does, and look forward to continuing to go to his rooms and events for many years! read more
