You can tell this is a local favorite. It was constantly busy before and during our time eating here! Everyone was sitting in the plastic chairs they set out and there was constantly a line. People would have big orders of 10+ tacos and I heard so many people order for others too. Finally checked out Andy's Taco Truck in Westminster after hearing good things, and it definitely delivered. I've had a lot of taco trucks over the years, and it's getting harder to find spots that still offer both quality and value. The first thing that stood out was the price. At $1.50 per taco, it's hard to find deals like that these days, especially when they actually taste this good. The carnitas and chorizo tacos were both solid, and honestly every protein I tried was worth ordering. My favorite item of the night was the loaded potato. Packed with flavor, super satisfying, and something I'd come back for specifically. The al pastor mulita was another standout with great flavor and a nice crispy texture. I honestly can't count the number of times I've been here or how many friends I've put onto Andy's Truck. Most often I find myself stopping by at the beginning of the month when rent is due and my bank account is crying. It's always super affordable, and the food never misses. I decided to come here on a Tuesday night after seeing a reel posted about it on Instagram. I don't fully trust reels, but for the advertised $1 dollar tacos, I figured it wouldn't hurt to give them a try. The truck was easy to locate in the back area of the Asian Garden Mall. There are plenty of street parking so I did not struggle to find parking at all. In the Instagram reel, the person mentioned that there is usually a long line. However, maybe because it was right after the rain, because I did not experience that long of a wait. I was able to park and put my order in probably 5 minutes max. I ordered 4 asada tacos and a can of sprite and paid with my card. The total came out to be $7.10, but I'm sure if I had cash on me and paid with cash, it would have been less since there was a sign that said tax and fee are included with card purchases. The tacos were pretty good. I just was not a fan of the tortillas because they were a bit tough. The tacos were filled with a good amount of asada meat and served with grilled onions. Woo! Man this place pumped me up! Coming from San Diego, a hub for Mexican food, my expectations were somewhat skeptical with the $1 tacos. Honestly, I have no idea how they're able to keep the price so low, but the quality so high. Andy and his associates took our order and made our food in less than 5 minutes. Honestly better than most food trucks here in San Diego. Considering the price point at this economy???? Andys truck is def worth!!!! Andys truck is located right next the Asian Garden Mall with bright lights indicating $1 tacos! I came around 7:20ish and there was a decent sized line so do expect to wait a bit. I opted to get four tacos, the chorizo, asade, lengua, and carnitas. My favorite would have to be the carnitas, it had a good smokey flavor to it! My least favorite would be the lengua as the pieces were more fattier than id like but nonetheless still solid! They have salsas on the side of the truck, I recc loading it up because the tacos itself are more lighter on the seasonings. My favorite thing however is the pineapple agua fresca!!!! My son found this place on social media and kept telling me to go. He said the truck is run by a 16 year old! We went on a Monday around 8 PM. The street is dark with a few streetlights. Quite a few people had already ordered and cars were continually pulling up. Service was efficient, they were focused on making the food and getting it out. We didn't wait too long. My favorite was the chicken quesadilla. Tortilla was fresh, the chicken tasted well seasoned and there was plenty of cheese. The tacos were also good. Corn tortillas, enough meat and vendors inside. Tried Andy's Taco Truck for the first time this past weekend The street tacos are $1.50, which is honestly hard to find anywhere in SoCal now. Portions are generous too. I got the asada street tacos and they were well-seasoned and generous with meat. Also ordered a chicken mulita, quesadillas, and a burrito. Had this place in my crosshairs for a little bit and decided to venture out on a taco Tuesday to see what they were all about. What they got right: The service was fast and the guy helping me was nice. No fuss no muss taco truck vibes. The rest: I read a person's review and they said that the tacos weren't the best around but not the worst. Good for the price you pay. That was pretty accurate. I got 10 tacos and a burrito. The asada was ok. Not the best but it could have been worse. I ordered two pastor tacos and when I got home I looked at them and was like "This looks like chorizo." It was chorizo. And that was just kinda 'eh'. Not the best, def not the worst. On their signage it says $1 tacos prominently, but then they have a smaller written sign that says "Price of tacos has gone up!!!" Didn't even notice that until after I had already ordered and paid. $28 total for the order. There's no salsa bar. They have displayed on their 'extras' menu is "Everything else extra is extra." For the entire order I got 4 salsas. Definitely not enough. And for the flavor of the meats they could give a couple more to compensate for what is lacking. If you're in that area it's probably a decent find but I can't see myself making the trek back there intentionally even though I'm only a couple miles away. All in all it's kinda mid-ground. Hype: I found this place thru IG and heard others in line also come because of tiktok, YouTube short, or IG. I came on a Friday night around 6 pm there wasn't a line to order just a few people waiting around to pick up their food. As I was waiting the line definitely picked up. I ordered an Al pastor burrito no beans (I asked what was in the burrito and was told it had rice,beans, cheese, onions, cilantro, and sour cream) and an asada, al pastor, cabeza, carnitas, and lengua taco. The guy that took my order was very nice but didn't read my order back to me and I think I was over charged because I was charged $12 and I only received 5 tacos (should be $1 each) and 1 burrito ($6) so my total should have been $11... so pay attention to what they charge you and make sure you get all of your ordered. While waiting for my order I was told they ran out of asada so I had to switch for al pastor. The service is nice but on the slower side and they acknowledge it and apologize when handing out orders for us having to wait. When the food came out it wasn't even hot or piping fresh it was lukewarm that was disappoint because I had to wait a while so thought it would be fresh. The burrito was a buss do NOT get it. It was so small and did not have anything inside but very minimal rice and Al pastor and it had a lot of spice flavor in it like it was drenched in chili oil and that the Al pastor taco did not have. All the tacos were just okay. They were missing flavor all of them needed salt and the salsas did not help. If I had to choose a meat the al pastor was the most decent one. I appreciate them keeping the cost low in this economy but I understand why there wasn't much meat in the tacos and you would have to order a lot to be full. Tip: Heads up get ready for acid reflux problems because everything is pretty oily and the reflux hit me quick like an hour later.
