2nd favorite place for asada tacos. adobo taco grill still reigns supreme but theres always a loooong line there so this 2nd place is my go to. Big fluffy tortillas, still falls apart if too much liquid gets absorbed. Wouldve liked more onion/cilantro, sometimes its a sprinkling ratio to the meat. Usually its very decent, sometimes tho you get grisly unchewable bits. Complimentary bag of chips but lately theyve been very "stale"like yet super oily to whatever they touch so i pass. The mild salsa is awesome, albeit watery usually, low fire at first but will creep up on your mouth. By asada taco 2 my mouth will be in firey agony so will need a break, then when the hellfire subsides i return for 2 more. I AM ALLERGIC TO PORK! My boyfriend is not allowed to eat pork either, we made an order over the phone and specifically asked to not have pork in our food, a breakfast burrito still had pork. What I had ordered was huevos rancheros and wasn't told it came with pork, Since I am allergic I called the place politely to ask if I may pick up a new plate and burrito since they both have pork. This lady at the register immediately stated asking the cook and arguing with him that why does it have pork and although I am going out of my way to call because I am allergic to it she kept saying "well he says it doesn't have pork" I offered to bring it in and she said "sure ,but I know it doesn't have pork" Very rude so I came in and she started name calling me and my mom that isn't even present. Either the manager or owner (5' 2-4" clean cut male approx in his late 30s or early 40s) approached and tapped my shoulder to say, "Take only what you need." WTF? Did I go overboard? As a bizns owner managing hundreds of staff with multiple retail store chain for 25 years, I pride myself on efficiency regarding supplies and being cost conscientious without sacrificing the experience, especially being in the customer service industry as well as earning 5.0-star reviews in my hospitality business for the past 7 years. I know that I'm not wasteful or hoarding.} I barely got the essentials and this taco sauce police was trying to ruin my day, after a perfect surf session. I was already mellow on cloud 9 to be able to handle this penurious character. I told this cheap sk... to keep his sauce and toppings. I can guarantee that neither my family nor my staff team will ever be eating here again, be expecting them to review your business in kind. I cordially told him that I took the right amount of salsa needed for the 4 paid tacos and chips, contained in 1 quarter of a small sandwich bag which he handed me. So later I can evenly distribute this portion into 4 empty sauce cups along with another quarter of a sandwich bag of misc vegies: 1 spoon of diced onions, 3 thin slices of carrots, 2 chilli peppers, and 4 slices of lime, all mixed inside one-fourth of that bag to be splitted among 3 different staff members. I haven't even tried the rest yet and ate the Al pastor taco on the way home in the car but that was easily one of the best Al pastor tacos I've ever had. Looks like a home for local people who like good food, not full of influencers making reels kind of vibe. I could eat a fish burrito every week. It's nicely seasoned, has beans, rice, not dry and full of cabbage. Also a salsa bar where you can get whatever you want. Their prices have had to go up with inflation (you can see white stickers on their menu), but from a pricing perspective its not through the roof for what you get! For me it is the usual Bean and Cheese burrito, one to eat at the table and one for home later..... and yes, I like the three mashed potato taquitos that had a mountain of shredded lettuce and cheese on top. The lovely missus loves the crunchy hard shell beef tacos with a bottle of the Mandarin Jarritos. We sat down and had a couple of scoops of salsa, but they did not give us any chips. This place used to be our go to spot. What happened? They must have new owners or new management because the last two times I've been there they have forgotten something in my order. The first time, I turned back and they even questioned me about my missing item. The second time, I didn't realize until I got home so I just had to accept the loss.
