For example, I just had an old cap break in half over the holidays. Dr Thompson fixed the problem but also addressed a cavity on the adjacent tooth. But this was not an easy one to fill. He literally had to do Microscope Dentistry. He had to do the filling carefully so he did not cause harm to the nerve. Dr Thompson takes great pride in doing the best possible for his patients. They want all money up front before you even get the service done. I don't have thousands of dollars just sitting around to pay in full even before service has been done. They are NOT flexible at all with creating a dental payment plan. They just expect me to whip out a credit card and charge it. Like most working people I work paycheck to paycheck. I believe because of the swanky Scottsdale location, they just think everyone has that kind of money lying around. I am sad because I really loved that office.

I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. I am mainly seeing Chelsea and Dr. Gillian DeGennaro for composite veneers, I have done a few other consultations and they were the most caring, open and honest about my treatment plan. We ended up doing Invisalign first - but you can truly tell the entire office cares about the results and making the patients feel comfortable.
