Dr Swainhart is a wonderful person and excellent dentist! He worked me into his schedule today at lunchtime for a second opinion on an infected implant by another dentist who is no longer practicing. Dr Swainhart said I needed to see a specialist. Dr Swainhart called Dr Zachs at Canyon Ridge Endodontics and asked him to see me today. Dr Zachs was able to remove my infected implant today at the end of his schedule and place a bone graft! Unbelievable service and patient care by very professional doctors. My first visit with Carefree Smile. Dr. Swainhart was recommended by residents of the Cave Creek / Carefree community and I am so thankful. Since residing in Arizona from New York, I have had 2 dentists with not so great experiences, my 3rd dentist who treated my dental issues for several years retired, then my 4th dentist - well, back to the not so great experience. So I just kind of avoided going to the dentist ... until the tooth pain began and I figured I probably shouldn't put it off any longer. Reluctantly, I went to my appointment accepting my fate of another not so great experience, but if my tooth pain could be improved by 50%, I'd be fine with that ... but was I ever so pleasantly surprised. What a great group this is. From the smiling faces that greet you upon entry, to the dental assistant, to Brody the adorable rescue dog to the Dentist himself. I was taken right back and greeted by Kristi. She took my xrays and was both kind and professional. I then met Dr. Swainhart. He was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. He reviewed my xrays with me and explained the cause of the present concern as well as what could be future concerns. I requested an estimate which was very fair for the treatment I was in need of. After consenting for care, Dr. Swainhart and Kristi got to work. Tammy administered the epinephrine or novocaine and I was numb. And she injected the area to be worked on effortlessly and painlessly. - not my whole face, neck, jaw, ear, nose, head and foot - just the area to be worked on - she was so proficient. One cavity filled and 2 crown molds later, I was done. And here I am 2 days later and still with NO recurrent tooth pain. So I will be back in 2 weeks for the permanent crowns to be placed. Then again for a full cleaning and polish. I know this is a bit of a long winded review, but most people don't care to go to the dentist ... so to those people, please re-consider and give this outstanding practice a try - you will be very happy you did. read more

Wow! What a great dental visit. Was looking for a new visit as we transition some of our medical providers to Arizona. Dr. Swainhart was recommended by a neighbor and so glad I took her advice. The initial visit was 90 minutes which included the most thorough cleaning I have ever had. I needed a follow up appointment to have some dental work done and they fit me in that afternoon to work with my travel back to home schedule. Friendly staff. I can't say enough about what a great experience and service I received here. Its refreshing to find a dental practice that actually cares for their patients. The staff is top notch and Dr. Finocchiaro is as nice as they come. I felt he took a genuine iinterest in my dental needs needs without trying to " up-sell" me things that were not necessary. There was a flat-panel computer screen in front of the exam chair that displayed a digital rendering of my teeth and the hygienist entered her notes on it as she did the exam and cleaning. Like many people, I loathe going to the dentist. Childhood trauma at the hands of a dentist comes rushing back each time I smell the smells and hear the sounds associated with modern dentistry. I've been to a few dentists in the Valley and most give lip service to "we know a lot of people don't like the dentist." Everyone in this office demonstrates genuine empathy- even Dr. Swainhart says he doesn't like going to the dentist. This group does everything possible to ensure the patient is comfortable. Dr. Swainhart and his staff are kind, gentle and fun to be around. They ask questions to really get to know you. (In other offices, it has felt like they were checking a box to attempt to build rapport as opposed to here where it feels authentic.) I feel they genuinely remember me and are happy to see me when I show up twice a year. I have had an older filling replaced by Dr. Swainhart and he did a great job. The receptionist takes care of the insurance billing and even printed out my Met Life benefits sheet for me. I also recently had my teeth whitened at Carefree Smile. I wasn't looking forward to the process as much as I was to the results. But Gina, a Zoom specialist, made it really easy and the time flew by. I have been a patient of Dr. Finocchiaro's for more than 30 years, in fact I was one of his first patients after he finished dental school!! I have stayed with him all these years because of the outstanding care he provides. He is a gentle and compassionate dentist. He is honest and his integrity is remarkable. Unfortunately for me, he has had to do extensive cosmetic work to my front teeth and but thankfully they look incredible. I have been seeing Dr. Finocchiaro since I was a little girl. I have honestly not had a cavity since I was 10 years-old. A couple years ago, I had invisalign done to straighten my teeth. It was so much easier and less embarrassing than braces! He made it such an easy process and always kept me on track with my progress and made sure that I received my new retainers on time. His staff is also really friendly and always make me feel welcome. His hygienist, Kelly, is wonderful, I always leave with my teeth feeling very clean and a confident smile. Our family loves Dr. Finocchiaro! I personally have been seeing Dr. F since I was a child, and he has always been exceptionally thorough and detailed in his services. He has a wonderful bedside manner, which eases the anxiety that is often associated with having dental work done. Now that my own children are old enough, they too get to see Dr. F and he is so gentle and patient with my kiddos. Now they look forward to seeing him and will ask him questions about the cleaning/x-ray process (which he enthusiastically explains to them).
