Andy's came to diagnose my malfunctioning refrigerator ($150) and within 10 minutes determined it was the sealed system. I was quoted $ 2400-2600 to fix the refrigerator. Instead I called the manufacturer of the refrigerator and although it was out of warranty, they had someone come out and look at it for free, and was quoted $540 to fix. Unfortunate that Greed & Dishonesty exist in the business world today. Andy's sent their tech (Bill) over for an estimate to repair our Garage Refrigerator ($135). Long story shortened,,,,, Bill at Andy's quoted $580 for replacing an evaporator fan. Not On my watch, I said.... After dismantling the interior back wall of the fridge, it was found to be frozen. It didn't need replaced, it simply needed to be thawed out. (fyi, I found the replacement part on Amazon for $25) SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you Bill. This took all of an hour to do. read more

Today, I had Andy's Appliance & Repair out for a Samsung refrig/freezer noise. Bill, the tech that responded to the call was very professional, neat, wore shoe covers. Very quickly, he discovered that everything, including the drain was frozen behind the interior cover. He restored drain function. Additionally, recognized that two lines were too close together and the thermistor that should have been in a line, was outside of it. He was able to separate the two lines and place the thermistor unit where it should be. Bill had the problem identified and resolved within an hour! I used Andy's for a warranty claim for my refrigerator. They took their time scheduling the appt and ordering parts. They did provide good service, but made a mistake with their diagnostic and had to wait even longer to get our fridge fixed. I felt they could have been much more urgent to correct their mistake, get the part overnighted, and put us on the schedule asap, but we had to wait another 5 days. read more

Bill at Andy's Repair is a lifesaver. The first time he assisted me was with my GE stove right before Christmas about 2 years ago. He is knowledgeable, professional, polite, trustworthy, and most importantly, honest. I was able to get my baking done thanks to him. I insist upon having him for my needs. He came out 2 weeks ago because the ice maker on my GE refrigerator had stopped working. He diagnosed the problem immediately and was honest about the cost of the replacement. Because the price of the part was half of a new refrigerator, I did not opt to order it. He suggested a counter top ice maker which I had never heard of before could meet my needs. Not happy with their service at all. Called to have our dryer looked at when it stopped heating. The technician came in and charged a $79 service fee as we expected however he diagnosed the heating element as being bad w/out testing the voltage. In fact we have the drier stacked and he never even removed it from the washer and all that was done was the removal of a screw that holds the exhaust in place which WAS NOT returned causing the exhaust to fall out. I was not It there because I was traveling and am afraid this was a case of a technician taking advantage of an opportunity to pull a fast one on my wife. We were given a quote of $420-$430 for replace the shorted open heating element and warn bearings but he never even opened the unit! We recently purchased an LG Dishwasher and after 3.5 months it wasn't working and showing the LE error code. We called LG and they assigned Andy's Appliance Repair. The technician came out today (Trevor) and he was excellent! Very knowledge, courteous, professional and all about customer service. He made the client experience very good for an unfortunate situation. The machine's board is faulty so we have to order a new one, so we are still in the process of going through the steps to get it up and running, but having Trevor and Andy's Appliance Repair overseeing this gives me a lot of relief since they have been great so far. They walked through the next steps and set the expectations straight away. Will write another review once our machine is fixed. read more

Andy's rep told me "if" the dryer noise comes back the next charge would be $400-$500 for an entire dryer replacement package. I'm sure the rep knew when he charged me $175 that the real problem had not been fixed. So, I called another appliance business for a second opinion and explained the situation. This appliance rep arrived immediately, within less than 1 hour he replaced (& showed me) the damaged part which was causing the noise, & replaced two other parts as a preventative measure. I was charged only $180 and he told me that Andy's took advantage of me-Andys charged me the $175 to only clean out some dust and didn't even pull the appliance out to look for the damaged part. I was advised to call Andy's back and ask for a refund (Was also informed that every appliance repair man has these common Whirlpool parts on their truck & the problem could have easily been fixed right the first time). Well... I called Andy's back. Spoke with Karl & then Eric. They did not take any ownership & no refund what so ever was offered. In fact Eric said "I know my rep & I don't believe he would have said those things to you". Therefore, I was instead being called a liar. GE was here a year ago (ONLY because stove was under warranty)....looked at a burner...tried to tell me I needed a $200 part --- Declined was going to do without the burner. Andy's sent a technician to repair the water dispenser on our two year old refrigerator. The tech was not responsive in diagnosing the issue and did not research service bulletins relating to our problem. After I replaced the water filter based on his recommendation, the problem was not resolved. I called Andy's to report the problem. I was told that the same technician would be dispatched next week. I told the local manager that I was unhappy with the technician's response, so I wanted a different technician. The manager would not resolve the problem, so I asked for a refund. Called them out for a fridge repair, fridge not getting cold. Pulled out the food drawer and behind it was all frozen. Tech replaced a part, said it should be good, did not thaw all the ice that we did not know was back there. 2 months later fan again has build up of ice, but since we are outside the 60 day window we have to pay another service fee, even though its the same problem they did not fix in the first place! Get another company to finally come out and it was the defroster board, the original fix that cost a significant amount of money was not even the problem! Ridiculous that they did not take the time to figure out what was actually wrong by defrosting the whole thing. Waste of time and money. Would not recommend. read more

Don't hire! Tried to sell me parts I didn't need, when lower priced parts would have fixed my problem! I hired Andy's appliance repair to fix my dryer which did not make heat. The service man came in the early afternoon of April 13th. He diagnosed the problem as a bad heat coil, and also said the dryer was making noise because of a bad pulley wheel. He quoted me a price of $680, which I found to be very high. He told me the price was $250 for the heater core and $75 for the pulley arm. He also said they could not start work until next week. I have in-laws coming into town and so I needed the dryer up and running prior to that. And wow! $300+ for the labor, why did I go to college? Frustrated, I took the dryer apart again. I found that there was nothing wrong with the pulley arm, but it was loose. I found a different screw to secure it and that fixed the problem. I also found a whole heater assembly in Omaha ready to install. I picked that core up and returned home. Less than an hour later, I had my dryer working again. I felt a little frustrated about the whole process at this point, but nothing compared to how I felt after I got out my multi-meter and tested the core. It had continuity when the technician clearly documented his claim that this circuit was "Open." Worse yet, a small and inexpensive fuse on the body of the assembly did test "open." For those of you who don't know, open means that the circuit is broken and cannot conduct electricity. Their technician could have taken his $117 for a service charge, charged me a little more for a fuse and had me back up and running that afternoon. Yet I had to run around and do it myself. And I purchased a $200 part that I apparently did not need, because I relied on an estimate that was either incompetent or fraudulent! If you ask me, it is hard to picture this being an honest mistake by a trained professional when 5 minutes of YouTube videos will show you how to check the fuse. I guess some of these folks think their customers can't do these things themselves, and we have to rely on them otherwise we wouldn't hire them. Really, we are smart people with busy lives who hire these folks to take one more problem off our plates. It's so frustrating when instead they create problems for us. I do worry about folks who don't have the baseline I do, who might not know how to check the work of these contractors. They could pay way too much to fix a problem. I presented the issue to Dan Eckles, the Director of Operations for this company. I sent him videos of the continuity test and the open circuit in the fuse. He shared this with another employee and called me back on the morning of the 15th. He admitted that this "looks bad" but he initially claimed he could not reimburse me for a part that was not purchased from the company. He told me that he could reimburse the service fee and also he would offer me a coupon for my next service with them. I told him I had no use for a coupon from them because they had lost my trust. He then offered to pay for the part after I negotiated hard with him, but he then hung up on me when I said I also expected to be reimbursed for the time the bad estimate had cost me. Dan was fairly professional through our exchanges, I know he's just a business man trying to manage a business but I think ignoring the cost of my time doesn't really make this right and hardball negotiating like offering a "refund and a coupon" was disappointing when they are clearly in the wrong. Also, it was a little childish to end negotiation because I had the audacity to ask to be compensated for the time this company wasted. Especially considering that their opening offer to fix it was "a refund and a coupon" Now the only recourse I'm left with is putting a stop payment on my credit card. Don't believe what these people tell you about their $99 service call. You will be charged the FULL amount if you have a warranty AND this company will also charge the manufacturer for all parts and labor. They refuse to be honest on the phone telling me "we only have a few minutes to explain". How long does it take to say "YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE $99 FEE WITH NO REFUND IF YOU USE YOUR WARRANTY EVEN IF YOU USE US TO DO THE REPAIRS"?!? Well obviously it doesn't cost them in time-but it will cost them in people choosing other companies to do the diagnosis and repairs, so they will lie to you to get your business! Complete incompetence. Not only did they waste my time and money. They are condescending and have no real intent in fixing the issues. I waited for over 2 weeks to have a simple part replaced and the technician didn't even bother to make sure that the cycle completed itself took the money and left I had to track down all of my receipts I had to do all my own follow up and when I ask to speak to a manager they're never available I've now been put off for 3 more days saying that they'll get to me when they can I have no washing machine and I'm out $300 this is by far the worst repair establishment I have ever worked with if you have any sense at all report them and keep them out of your home. read more

We reached out to Andy's Appliance Repair regarding a broken ice maker. The technician came to diagnose the problem. After review, he said he could fix the ice maker and it was his recommendation that we do so. The total charge was going to be about $280. This was a bit over what I wanted to spend but he assured us this would be an easy fix. He came out again with the part and said he fixed it. A few days later, with no ice, we called again and he came back out and we probably need another part. This would be an additional $200. With no assurances, a still broken ice maker and $280 gone, we can't recommend this store. They will no do as paid for and won't make right on their promises. read more

I needed a replacement under the glass ring for an outdated microwave oven. It was no longer listed on most catalogs nor support sites for that brand. I took the old ring and model number of the microwave oven to Andy's. Specialist for parts ordering measured my old ring and was able to find a good replacement from that brand supplier. The only thing different was the color which is not a big deal since you seldom notice it when in place. I am delighted Andy's kept my microwave oven functional. read more

I have had a horrible experience with Andy's Appliance Repair. They have come to my house to evaluate the refrigerator six times (twice in one day) since April 5th and the issue is still not resolved. When Bill came the first time, he evaluated the refrigerator for 10 minutes and thought the issue was the temperature setting (although it has been on the same setting for 6yrs). I had to call him back 10 minutes later to tell him the refrigerator was still not dispensing water. He then thought it was the water pump and it ordered a replacement and installed it a week later and that ended up not being the issue. I suggested it may be an electrical problem and he said he didn't know but did proceed to call LG for assistance and it was concluded to order a new main control system which was installed another week later and that was still not the issue. A new technician came out and immediately diagnosed the problem, the water the filter was not staying in place each time the door was opened. He said there was no way to fix this. If only he had come the first time I would have only paid $99 for the service call. The problem is still not fixed and Eric, the supervisor, told me that the situation was handled properly and "a lay person" wouldn't understand how this works. First of all, I found this comment very insulting and condescending. I have a Master's degree so please do not talk to me like I'm a fool. I have common sense in addition to being well-educated and have paid $538 thus far and the issue has not been resolved. Eric also had the nerve to tell me that we can try a new water filter tip for $25 and see if this works. This has all been a total scam and waste of time. Some of the technicians don't now what they're doing meanwhile clients are paying the price for a guessing game!!! read more

My most recent experience with Andy's Appliance has been more than disappointing and very perplexing. We are repeat customers of Andy's moving out of our home. Our dishwasher required some work prior to the new owners taking possession of the property. This took place on a weekday while I was at work and my wife was at home packing. The scheduling was prompt and courteous, and the technician arrived at the estimated time. My wife showed him the dishwasher and how our vinyl floor partially obscures the bottom of the unit where it is flush with the cabinet baseboards. The service required removing the dishwasher from where it was installed, which appears easy enough if the flooring is peeled back a bit and reset. The work was quick and courteous, again, and the tech was on his way to the next job. My wife never heard anything from the tech until we paid the invoice at the end of the service. When my wife and I sat down to dinner that night and finally got a good look at the dishwasher and how it interfaced with the floor, it was apparent that the tech cut the vinyl floor in a totally random pattern and simply laid the cut-out section of vinyl over the hole. There was no attempt to follow the lines on the flooring or to secure it back in place after the dishwasher was reinstalled. It looks abhorrent. I'm talking comically bad. There is no way that I can physically repair it on my own due to the angles involved. We attempted to contact Andy's to see if we could get some assistance with repairing the damaged vinyl since new owners will move into our house next week and time is of the essence. After receiving the run around and being put on hold and dropped numerous times over several days, my wife was finally able to reach the manager. This is where things get sideways. The manager had the gall to accuse us, the homeowners, of cutting our own flooring in a random pattern prior to the Andy's Appliance tech performing work on our dishwasher because this is what the tech said to the owner. We were told that there was no way the tech would have cut-out the flooring without notifying us in advance. Again, my wife never heard anything from the tech until we paid the invoice at the end of the service. We sent Andy's our photos from the home inspection and appraisal which took place immediately prior to the dishwasher repair, along with the after photos of the irreparable damage. Despite photographic evidence, the manager stands by the tech and kicked things up a notch by accusing us of seeking compensation for a new floor since this type of thing has happened to them before. I can't believe this is the route they took. Rather than a quick apology, Andy's considers the matter closed and they again accused us of being liars as a parting shot. To say that this is an incorrect assessment on how our floor was damaged is a gross understatement. I really have no words to describe how my wife and I have been treated by this company. We realize that we are going to have to quickly repair our floor on our own before moving and Andy's is going to protect their employee by smearing a truthful and hard-working family. It's astonishing. We're being accused of hatching an elaborate flooring-based extortion plot days before we move out of our home. I'm not sure what planet I am even on right now. It's bananas. I suppose this should serve as a cautionary tale that good customer service is actually dead and repairmen are resorting to unbelievable tactics to make simple problems disappear. read more
