All their meat is local, along with produce and sauces. They focus on supporting small business in Northern California. I have eaten here numerous times while working construction or after fishing on the Sacramento River. I have taken many friends here before, that had never heard of it. Everyone is a fan. First time coming to this place, it was recommended by a friend. I order the Tri-tip/brisket, forgot which one, but it's just ok, maybe next time I'll try it without all the other stuff and just go plain meat and cheese. What I wasn't fond of was getting poked in the mouth by, not one but TWO toothpicks. A heads up about it would have been nice, now I have a small cut on the top of my mouth. I also order a side of their potato, salad, that I didn't like at all. I'm not fond of the sweetness of it so I'll skip it next time I try this place again. I've really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt... forget ingredients/skimp on toppings once or twice ok... but it's at the point where I've gotta say something. they ALWAYS forget toppings. and they're usually forgetting the toppings you pay extra for. Doesn't matter if you're the only person in there, they're still forgotten. Today we went in, my husbands sandwich was fine, but yet again they forgot my avocado and onion and the sandwich wasn't cut through. and there was SO much mustard that it soaked the bread in a matter of minutes...Pretty lame :/ read more

I'm back again working this harvest on highway 32, so I'm smack dab in the middle between Orland & Hamilton City. Needless to say during our lunch break there aren't many options in Hamilton so we usually head towards Orland. I lived in Orland for a brief period 2 years ago when I first moved to California and if I remember correctly this is the only option for fresh Deli meat. I decided to give Andy's a try because they offer Sandwiches as well as plenty of great fresh options to take home as well. I heard on Fridays they smoke Tri-Tip outside and man do I have to go back on Friday. I created my own sandwich as they have little cards you fill out as soon as you walk in. I ordered a Super Sub Sandwich on White Bread with BBQ Beef & Smoked Turkey. Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Pickle and Mayo! I went in for a sandwich and ended up a little disappointed and/or confused. Good looking meat market and the smoked turkey did taste fine. The signage and ordering process led me to some confusion tho. The sign reads "all sandwiches include mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion on request". The process is such that you specify what you want written on a slip and hand it to the counter person to make. I took the board that read "all sandwiches include...." to mean that my sandwich would include those items (unless otherwise specified like the onion) and it didn't. I got back to my work site to a dry meat and bread only sandwich and got a little butthurt. I'm not sure if I earned it or not though so I went back after work to ask about it. The counter person couldn't offer any explanation but suggested that he would talk to someone about it. Bread and turkey were both good I just think that I was led to expect something I didn't get. read more

It's hard to find a better sandwich! They're known for smoked tri-tip sandwiches and you must try them. Funny, but I really noticed the pickle in the mix and the perfect zing it added. The bread is soft and fresh, but the star is the meat. You smell the smoke first as you open the paper. All four of my family got the tri-tip and we didn't talk too much as we ate. It was a near religious experience. This review would be five stars in a heartbeat if the counter servers had been wearing masks; I hope they will consider it. read more

I came to Andy's butcher block because I heard it was a very good place for lunch. I came here on my lunch break from work and walked into a clean store. I grabbed the paper and filled out my order and when I handed it to the lady she somewhat questioned what I was getting. In a rude manner she said "You do know this is a $11 sandwich??" And I replied back with, "Yes? That's fine?" In which she still looked somewhat confused by either thinking it was too expensive to pay for or something. I then replied saying it's okay I have money and went ahead and made it. It was a good sandwich, not great but good. If service was better and didn't get questioned like I didn't have money I would have gave it four stars. read more

They have messed up multiple times on my orders on multiple occasions. There avocado is guacamole . That definitely is not the same condiment. Taste completely different. They sale cookies that are undercooked. And are super slow at taking orders! read more
