First of all it's totally cute inside with a retro feel! There is also an ice cream shop that is attached to the restaurant. Convenient and great treat after eating next door! Since we had already shared a breakfast earlier we got the biscuits and gravy. Very good with generous amount of gravy and not too peppery! Quick service in a busy atmosphere! Beer and wine available. DEBBIE was so sweet..she brought alittle bacon for Wilbur my dog! ( I only gave him a tiny bit...he's a puppy!). They had some delicious looking pies as well! 3.5 rounded up because Sabrina L (according to our receipt) was excellent. We arrived a little after they opened on a Wednesday morning. There were already two tables seated and a few tables filled right after us and we were greeted immediately, given menus and offered drinks. She was the only server and was super chill and efficient. This is straight up a road side diner. I ordered the I-5 traditional breakfast of two eggs (over medium - which is not always done right, sadly, but they were perfect here), 4 bacon (so good), hash browns (not salted...which is fine because then it's not over salty, but they really lacked any flavor), and wheat toast. Randy ordered the B. A. T. Benedict (bacon, avocado, tomato) that came with hash browns. Hollandaise was bland so that was a bummer. Randy felt the same about his hash browns. The server was nice and refilled coffee timely. It had a classic diner feeling. My husband had eggs Benedict and it was good. The hashbrowns were crisp and seasoned. My Denver omelette however had raw peppers and onions in it. It was super disappointing. I had to pick out the vegetables. They should have been sautéed. read more

When traveling interstate 5 in either direction this is a must stop, the food is just like mom's house makes and the folks here are really friendly. We walked in on a busy Sunday morning. It took a bit of time for the dirty tables to get cleared so that we could have a place to eat. But once we were seated our waitress was great. She apologized for us having to wait so long. The cafe is cute with a lot of knick knacks on the walls. When the food came it looked and smelled delicious. The portions were huge even though I got a mini omelette. There was plenty of parking and it is literally right off of the freeway so easy access. read more

Service is always great. Clean. Food a big disappointment. We both order same time. His food hot and correct. My stone cold. His eggs hot. Mine lukewarm. His pancakes hotvwhere butter melting. My waffles hard as a rock butter wouldn't even melt. I like this cafe alot but this is not a good sign. I asked server why? She said he probably cooked his later. Why? We sit at same table. Im so upset bc I really needed to eat. Oh well, what do you expect? I expect good food n service for paying the prices. Taking half off my plate doesnt count...I didn't get to eat. My go to for breakfast food if I am going to my property in Redding. Went up twice this week with 2 sets of friends and each one loved it! I always get chicken fried steak and eggs with home fries ( I asked to have additional onions and peppers added). Their chicken friend steak is the bomb! My friend ordered the same and like it too. Another friend got the steak wrap and a mini breakfast which was not really a mini it was a nice portion. The steak wrap was delicious but some homemade salsa would have been icing on the cake. Service is handled by some older ladies and is good and fast. It is exactly the service I would expect. Ambiance is nice and spacious versus crowded and annoying. Best place to eat if you are between sf Bay Area and Redding! read more

Traveling up and down the 5 as much as I do, you get to know all the good and not so good places to stop and eat or use decent restrooms. the I-5 Cafe and Creamery is one of the better places to stop and is located right off the freeway in between Sac and Red Bluff. Easy parking, even if you're driving a big rig or pulling any trailers. Service is fast and friendly, just treat the servers like you'd like to be treated and everything's fine. The food is pretty standard road side diner food, chicken fried steak, burgers and yes, they even have salads. I got a burger and it was pretty good, decent meat and good fries, what more do you want? My main thing is the service is fast and efficient and you can get back out on the road with minimal delay. I'll stop here again. Look for the Orland exit! read more

This location has a sit yourself sign. We sat for more than 10 min no menus on hand, waitress walked by us with menus on her hand looked at us and kept helping other customers. Another couple walked in, she greeted them and brought them water and utensils while me and my family were still waiting on menus. We had to leave as it was obvious we were not welcomed and we would not be served. We took our business elsewhere. read more

Welp! didn't come here for about 4 years, due to their epic screw up of allowing their whole restaurant to fill up, and not communicating that they didn't have enough staff to handle it that day. After waiting 45 min with no one taking our order, we walked out and swore to never come again. Well, out of desperation yesterday, I went there with my fiance, as he'd never heard of this place, yet he's from this area. I knew their food was good,it was just a matter of If we'd even get it. We didn't have time to dine in, nor wanted to, being uncomfortably busy again, and I got a "egg, cheese, and potato burrito"..ordered exactly as such., to which the hostess asked if we wanted the Vegetarian burrito they have, for which my fiance said "sure,just egg, cheese, and potatoes", as we both figured she was just using that as the item to enter into their system for ease of charging us, opposed to trying to figure out charging separately for each filling we asked for. Got our order and we're about to head out on our 2 hr 45 min trip and realized my burrito was filled with vegetables I didn't ask for and also was allergic to, hence being extremely specific about the 3 whole ingredients we asked for. Had to go in and get refunded, which is the first time in my life asking for a refund for restaurant food, but the damned thing was $17!!!!!! For an average burrito! Not even the standard taqueria size, but larger than a basic Taco Bell burrito. The price for the size was astronomical, and I was not about to pay for that crap they made that I couldn't even eat. I give this place 3 stars and not less just based on the servers friendliness and quickness. The food was over priced and wasn't of great quality. We went for breakfast on our drive back home and it was just meh. You have to sit yourself which is fine and it was pretty busy. But for the price of the food I was expecting it to be better. This place has really gone down the gutter in the last year or so. My family and I went in for a nice Saturday meal and they missed so many things in our orders. I asked for cheese on my eggs and they forgot. The waitress brought out cheese for me to add it myself, but it was cold and I like it melted on the eggs. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and it arrived at the end of the meal. All of our food was cold. The atmosphere is weird. I'm a resident of Orland and I eat here frequently and the service is great but I was in there today. I had a waitress named Sabrina and she was very RUDE. we seated ourselves, waited 20 min at least then asked for a menu. Sabrina the waitress put her hand up and said " I'm busy right now " then left into the left door opening. another waitress overheard her telling us to wait and brought menus to the table promptly and took our drink order. Sabrina abruptly brought our two drinks to the table slammed them down and threw the straws drown (I thought the drinks were going to spill). I talked to the other waitress and left. read more

Quaint, Cozy & Clean!! Traveling thru California & made a stop for Fuel at the Pilot station across the street.. did a quick Yelp Search and came across this Gem off the I-5 Corridor. I made a beeline to the restroom while my husband selected our seats. Restrooms are clean & well stocked, seating is "seat yourself style". We were pleasantly greeted and our drink orders were taken promptly. Our waitress Betty was on point! She has the perfect combination of sparkle & sass! I had the breakfast tostadas... SO refreshing & delicious!! My husband had the pastrami burger & enjoyed every last bite! Will definitely stop again the next time we pass through !! read more

The last couple times I ate here was not as good as the first. The Western Burger that I got today was one of the greasiest burgers I can remember eating. Onion rings were also too greasy, I use all of my napkins blotting the extra oil so I could eat some of them. read more

I had breakfast here the other day on Memorial Day. The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the food was actually pretty good once I finally received it after an hour, and our young waitress was had a very pleasant personality and was friendly. However, there was no communication while we waited for an hour to let us know that the food was delayed due to a large party that came in immediately before us. I don't mind waiting. I use to be a waitress so I understand that if a large party comes in it might take longer to receive my food. But PLEASE at least communicate that to your guests so that they know why there is going to be an extended wait. My BIGGEST feedback and complaint is for the old server woman who was extremely rude to us. After waiting an hour for BREAKFAST, we asked her on an update for our food in which she responded in a nasty tone they were doing the best they could and then immediately turned to another booth just a few feet away and started to complain about us to the other customers!! I know she thought she was whispering and talking quietly, but I heard every word! How extremely unprofessional. I don't normally leave reviews on places, but I feel like that old waitress needs to understand that she shouldn't negatively talk about customers to other customers, especially when she's in ear shot of them and still sitting right there! I don't feel we were out of line asking for an update after patiently waiting for almost an hour for a simple breakfast, so I was honestly shocked. If I was the owner of this restaurant I would fire her. Not only was she rude, but I watched her just stand around for most of that hour and complain about her job. If you don't like your job, THEN LEAVE! Would not come back to this restaurant simply because I don't want another experience where I might encounter that old waitress. If she leaves or is fired, I would happily return. The breakfast was pretty good otherwise, but I don't appreciate being talked negatively about by one of the employees. read more
