Maybe it was because I got their Concrete S'mores jackhammer but wasn't blown away. Their combination was great! Marshmallow fluff, hot fudge, and Graham cracker. By far my most favorite ice cream shop in the world!!! I adore the zillions of options, new seasonal specials, customizability, and the list goes on. Every spring, I get the blueberry concrete and when that's not available, I love my good ol' Boot Daddy concrete. Staff is different every single time; sometimes friendly, sometimes awkward, sometimes rude, but I've never had a horrible experience. After driving past Andy's I don't know how many times we FINALLY decided to go for frozen custard. It also came as a recommendation from good friends. Although my wife is an only vanilla gal I'm a chocolate guy. She went for a small cup whereas I went for the Triple Chocolate medium cup. It was really really good. But, there is a BUT, for the first time in my 'ice-cream-life' it was TOO much. I know ... that sounds impossible!!! So good!! I am not an ice cream person but I sure love custard. I had the pearl turtle sundae. It's just the very best! The custard is delicious and creamy and those pecans just bring it home! The servings are big. We got 3 different items, the previously mentioned sundae the Texas two step (those strawberries are delicious) and the triple chocolate. Always a solid dessert. Creamy custard, just sweet enough. They have so many mix ins or toppings to choose from. We love when they have the pumpkin pie and egg nog at the holidays! My six year old grand daughter wanted ice cream so my wife recommended stopping by Andy's for a banana split. Yum! Great idea! I incorrectly thought I could get whatever flavor of Ice cream and toppings I wanted from the good old days of Tastee Freeze and Dairy Queen. After my wife and grand daughter order theirs, I asked if I could get 2 scoops of butter pecan and one chocolate with chocolate syrup. Boy was I disappointed when I was told they couldn't do that! Huh?! "Do you want to try one of our xyz banana splits?" asked they guy standing at our window. No thanks, just give me a cup of butter pecan with chocolate syrup, I said. And a cup of ice water. "Would you like extra pecans and whip cream?" Sure. When they brought my wife's and grand daughter's over, imagine the disappointment when it was three scoops of plain ice cream with a couple of cut up strawberries with a few cherries and a lot of cherry juice poured on it and some whip cream. I asked my grand daughter. Didn't you want some chocolate syrup on that? I asked. "Yes!" she responded. I asked the lady at the window. Can you put some chocolate syrup on that? "No, we can't do that. Do you want to buy a little cup of chocolate syrup?" NO! As we drove off I said "I guess we'll go to Culver's from now on!" The total $30 and some change! I've been to all of the Andy's Frozen Custard in the metro Denver area. I love the location of this one in Littleton. It's situated at a street intersection where it's easy to locate. I stopped here this evening for my annual summer treat. They serve a favorite concrete of mine, key lime pie. Their custard is the best in Denver and they use an actual slice of key lime pie to mix in with the custard. They also don't mix it up where it blends too much with the custard. They mix it up enough where you can taste small pieces of the actual pie. Besides one of my favorite treats there, they serve a wide variety of other treats. Again, their custard is so good! Their cones are very good. They make the custard fresh every hour. Staff is usually nice and polite. When I went to this location 3-4 months ago, their power went out and they gave customers in line a coupon to redeem for a free concrete. I returned later and they gave me a free brownie concrete. If you haven't checked out Andy's yet, you're missing out! They have locations in Littleton, Sheridan and Green Valley Ranch. Perfect time of year to visit Andy's. The menu selection here is huge! There is something for everyone. I was very pleasantly surprised with how many different Sundaes they had. Additionally, they did have some seasonal flavors while I was there which was exciting. We had to wait maybe a max of 5 minutes for our order, even though we were the only customers at the window (no worries though). I got the Turtle Split (about 540 calories) which was VERY good, and easy to finish! I usually never get hot fudge on my ice cream, but this one just sounded so good! It could've used a bit more caramel, but I loved the combination of all of the toppings. My boyfriend got the double malt shake (about 1,100 calories) and said it was well worth the calories! It was a little tough to pick just one, but I finally decided on the BootDaddy Concrete - vanilla (or chocolate) frozen custard blended with Oreo, creme caramel and hot fudge. And since ice cream just isn't as good without some kind of nut in it, I added their roasted pecans. If you like nuts in your sweets, GET THE ROASTED PECANS. I.Love.Andy's! I seriously have an addiction to their frozen custard and with the convenient drive through I convince myself more often than I should that I need a concrete for dessert. Favorites? Pumpkin Pie Concrete (they blend a whole slice of pie in their smooth custard). Wow! Best frozen custard I have had in this area by far. Definitely better than Freddy's. The service was incredibly fast and the dessert tasted AMAZING. I got the butter pecan concrete and I would highly recommend! One word of warning: the serving sizes fit the stereotypes about Americans to a tee. I ordered a small and had trouble finishing it. Hubs usually has no problem finishing all his food, but even he couldn't quite conquer his large shake without some discomfort. I wish that there were some picnic tables.
