Your Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies are twice as big I do suppose, when a business decides to accept credit cards for payment, that is their choice; but to pass on an extra charge to the customer, is totally unfair. What happened to Butterfields?!? First, I noticed that the benches out front were filthy and covered in melted ice cream. So much so that I decided to stand. The store itself seemed dirty which is an immediate turn off. The employee behind the counter was incredibly unfriendly and said nothing to us when we walked in, and could not even be bothered to turn around. Eventually we had to tell her we were ready to order. She didn't know what a root beer float was. One of my kids asked for sprinkles but she still didn't put them on her ice cream. We had to ask for straws for the floats because they hoard them behind the counter and then act annoyed when you ask for one. This used to be such a cute little ma and pa store. Finally made the decision we will not return after our last visit. Not sure but maybe new ownership but they are obviously having a hard time running a business. Portions have gotten dramatically smaller. Cost has increased and now surcharging me to use my card. Will not allow 2 flavors in a pint so they would rather me order a large for less money and get two flavors. Too many other options just as good-Andy's, The farm, Handels and even cold stone will move to the front of the line. This review is long overdue from multiple visits. Service here is always pleasant and ambiance is homey. When you walk in your smell waffle cones, candy, greatness. We come here often during the summer months with our grandkids. They love the choices of flavors mainly the superman. We enjoy the vanilla or coffee with jimmies on top! They have gotten stingier with their portions since the first time we tried them a few years ago. In the past, a medium double scoop would overflow the waffle cone. Local to Parker, the Butter doodle ice cream is a classic flavor and a must have in our house! There are many flavors to choose from. The cones are dipped in chocolate, sometimes they also have sprinkles. The case in the front is filled with ice creams to take home and drinks in case you want to make a root beer float. It's located in a strip mall with Kingsoopers. There's plenty of parking. The staff here has been friendly. And there are some places to sit inside. I definitely recommend giving this ice cream spot a try the next time you have a craving. read more

We have been coming to Butterfield's for the last five years. There has been a marked decline in their service over the past year. Employees are no longer cheerful or helpful. They all look like they're there to just collect a paycheck. We're lucky to get greeted when we enter the store. This evening, we got there 45!minutes before closing. The man behind us in line had two daughters with him and one of them ordered a milkshake. One of the workers said, "we're not making shakes tonight." It was clear that they were cleaning up and didn't want to have to clean up the shake machine again to make one for the customer. Just plain laziness. I understand that they hire school- age kids - this is likely their first job - but these employees are simply not friendly at all. This is a poor reflection on the the new owners: they will apparently hire just anybody with a pulse instead of getting enthusiastic, friendly employees who make customers feel welcome and valued. We will go across town to another great place for ice cream in the future: Butterfield's isn't the only place in town. Their ice cream is good, no doubt, but not worth the disappointing experience and lack of customer service. It's a shame that the new ownership just doesn't understand the importance of customer service and retaining customer loyalty. read more

Stopped by this evening with my husband and toddler. Service was quick and friendly, we tasted a few before we settled on our flavors. My daughter got the mango sorbet and I've never seen her eat anything that fast! I got the almond coconut chocolate one which was a perfect mix of all the flavors and my husband got the mud pie that had a cappuccino chocolate mix which was delicious! Bathrooms were out of order which wasn't ideal with a toddler in tow but otherwise good place for ice cream, we will be back for more! read more

This world is getting better and better as more little shops make their own ice cream full of yummy chunks of goodness like I love them. Been eying this place for a while now and finally the time and place arose. For $6 you can get 3 generous scoops - the only challenge is narrowing it down to 3! Based on how delicious the options were that I chose, I suspect that any choice would be satisfying. We went for the chunky chocolatey options - caramel Oreo, s'mores, and and turtle. There's a reason the caramel Oreo is the most popular flavor. It is quite good. But every single one was excellent. My only issue was that they put it in a pint container, which means the scoops are stacked on top of each other and you cannot try the flavors at the same time easily; you have to eat one layer and then the next and then the next. Also they still don't allow samples even though we can fly without masks - I guess maybe ice cream places have decided that is a decision to stick with post-COVID? but I sure enjoy trying things to make sure that I want them. The last review I gave, I said that the ice cream was great and I complained that they were still not giving out samples which was something they started during the pandemic. We were just in there today and clearly virtually every business has discontinued practices they started during and because of the pandemic. Well not Butterfields. But now they have a different reason for not giving out samples. They don't give out samples in order to reduce waste and overhead...so it's really about the money...not the customer service. We loved coming to Butterfields with there fresh homemade ice cream and waffle cones. But in the last few months this establishment has gone downhill. The first time a few months back we went and they were out of 90% of the flavors. Very disappointed and the girl said new ownership doesn't know how to make all the flavors yet and to boot they had no waffle cones. We go back next month and this time the girl was taken back that she had paying customers because she was to busy giving free ice cream to her 10 friends that came in. She was taking pictures of herself and them to post on social media and not one of them paid for ice cream. We were up next and she was so unfriendly and we left after getting our ice cream - no tip for her for her lack of customer service and us witnessing her giving free stuff away which annoys me bc someone owns this place and she's stealing. Today we come back wanting ice cream at 6:30 after dinner to the establishment being closed! Why weather is fine and it's early! We go to Google and now it says temporarily closed! Now, I can eat ice cream, I am no stranger to a 2 scoop cup, but wow, 2 scoops is too much! I'm wondering if this is Parker's best kept secret because today it was about 95 outside and this shop was deserted. Part of me thinks that maybe it's the unfriendly staff member that drives people away? I'm the only one in the store and I get two items, double scoops and she barley cracked a smile. Then I see the loyalty cards, (didn't ask if I already had one or anything) I grab one and ask her to stamp it - it's for a free single scoop or $4 off after 10 visits - and I get 1 stamp. I spent over $11 on two ice creams, that should have warranted at least a second stamp. My hubby got a waffle cone, salted caramel and espresso chocolate chip. I have eaten their ice cream before and it's delicious. However, I went there 5 minutes after their hours posted in their window and on Google said they were open. The door was locked, lights off, no one was inside, and calling their number posted in their window and online rang for a minute and then automatically disconnected. I waited an additional 5 minutes to see if anyone showed up and no one did. If you're open later, you need to update your hours everywhere.
