Ordered a hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge. We noticed after driving away there were no pecans. The only hot fudge sundae on the menu has pecans. We returned and asked where were the pecans? The somewhat arrogant employee said because we did not say "hot fudge sundae with pecans" it was an extra $1.50. We have NEVER said hot fudge sundae with pecans on the many times we have ordered this sundae. So this is either a scam, bait and switch, Andy's gotcha for getting more $$. read more

While it was 92 degrees at 5 PM on a Friday, we were hot. The jumbo cup of custard ($4.69 + tax) was just right for us. My wife had chocolate and I had vanilla. The sweetness and creamy texture were just right. My wife said that the did not skimp on the chocolate flavoring of her custard. We did not have to wait, we were served at a window promptly. I can't really tell the difference between frozen custard and ice cream. Regardless, both are yummy and Andy's Frozen Custard is pretty good! I got one of the concretes and it was pretty good. Growing up down in TX and loving my Blue Bell Ice Cream, I was skeptical of the whole "custard craze" of the northerners I met while in Missouri. But, Andy, you make some damn good Custard! There are lots of options on what you can mix in, I've tried a few different things but in the end it's all about the original custard. Try a few before you settle in on a favorite, it's cheap enough to make it a regular stop around town. Avoid the largest size... trust me... it's too much for one person! I felt obliged to write this, but please note that I have not had the chance to have Ted Drews. Yes, I also now live in STL. I should get on this. So - when people try to tell me that their home-town has the best ice-cream, the New England snob in me comes out. I am also generally a fro-yo type fan. But what? Custard? This is like an in-between New England Ice Cream/Froyo. It's sweet, but not overly sweet. Just get a simple Sunday and when the minor league Cardinal hits a home-run, I think they have dollar sundays if you were at the game. So - I've converted. I grew up with this establishment, I remember the family sitting on the tailgate taking in the July weather and seeing the lightening bugs all around, it was amazing just to taste the frozen custard specialties, such as the Key Lime concrete, or the the ever classic strawanna. I have grown out of my fondness for chocolate since I was young though and for that I have limitations, unfortunately even since I was young they have never released a strawberry custard or any other flavor of the sort, it's either chocolate or vanilla and a ton of topping options, of course there's other things like root beer or Italian ice, but I do have to go elsewhere for flavors. I still go back there for seasonal concretes like their Key Lime, or pumpkin, and even blackberry. But if they had more flavor options, like strawberry or something else that's still classic then maybe I could rate them higher. But one thing is sure, they still have my heart and my wallet regardless of how clearly out of touch they are. James Brownie Funky Jackhammer. So good. Get it! It is concrete with brownie and peanut butter chunks swirled around with a center of hot chocolate fudge in the center. So tasty but definitely bring a friend to help finish it....it is waaaay too big for any normal human being to finish it! Although it was cold outside, at least to a West Coast kid, like myself, I knew I just had to try it! My girlfriend and I went through the drive-thru and were tempted by so many appetizing treats. It was so difficult to choose, but we ended up choosing: - Small Concrete w/ Health Bars & Butterscotch ($4.89) The custard itself is amazing! Then I got a bite with the Health Bar and custard, and it was the perfect pairing! The Butterscotch was quite good as well. - Small Concrete w/ Strawberry & Cookie Dough ($4.74) My girlfriend ended up choosing this combo. I tried a bite and was amazed that they actually use fresh strawberries! It was fantastic. Tip 1: The small size ended up being more than enough, so don't be tempted by getting a bigger size. Some people might actually benefit by sharing a small size. Tip 2: Since there are no seats inside, just park your car in the many parking spots that are available and eat there. read more

Over the past couple of years, I've become a big fan of frozen custard, particularly concretes. So when I saw this place near my hotel (despite it being around -10 degrees outside), I knew I would have to stop by and try it out. I went with my standard concrete mix - M&Ms and coconut (yes, seriously - try it before you knock it). It was ready blazingly fast. I had barely finished ordering it, hadn't even dug out my cash yet, and it was already being handed to me. Not quite sure what to make of a concrete made with such speed. The end result was ok, but not as good as the concretes I've had from other custard places. So decent and edible, but I doubt I'd return here when there are so many other custard places in Missouri to try. read more
