Everyone at my party was raving about how gorgeous it was and how amazing it tasted. This was actually the fourth cake Sonja has made for me, and every single one has been flawless. The very first cake she ever did for me was back in 2008 for my best friend's bachelorette party. I brought her the invitation, which was a corset design, and she recreated it perfectly. I mean perfectly. Every detail was spot on. I was blown away then, and I'm still blown away now. She's also made two baby shower cakes for me that were just as beautiful and delicious. So when I finally decided to celebrate my 40th birthday, I didn't even have to think twice about who I wanted to make my cake. I knew it had to be Sonja. She is so easy to work with, communicative, and truly gifted at what she does. Her attention to detail, creativity, and talent are unmatched. You can tell she pours her heart into her work, and it shows in every single cake she creates. If you're looking for someone who will bring your vision to life and create something that tastes just as good as it looks, I cannot recommend Celebrations by Sonja enough. My friends said it looked like a child decorated it. We hoped the flavor and texture would save it, but it didn't. The top of the cake was dense and supposed to be lemon-flavored. Most guests who tasted the cake couldn't tell the flavor. The bottom had a lovely strawberry flavor, but the texture was not consistent. Two guests bit into floury clumps of dough. The frosting was wonderful at least. We communicated our disappointment and were offered a 15% refund, although that interaction was disappointing as well. I hope others who use this baker have a better time than we did. We all have off days, and it seems like this lady has talent based on her other work. I'm sad it didn't work out.

But, this year for our anniversary, we pulled our specially reserved small cake out of the freezer, following Carla's instructions, and it was SO DELICIOUS. I was stunned a cake could be that good one year after being made. I believe we got the pumpkin spice, cream cheese frosting, and the filling that Carla recommended.
