i previously worked at the location, and consider my experience there as top two among jobs i've had, so i'll recognize that there might be some bias in the review. food - nevertheless, the frozen "do not call me ice cream" custard receives consistently rave reviews, regardless of any bias i might hold. and while the custard tastes good in many variations, tonight i'd ordered a concrete, and my mom did the same,mine a medium and hers a small. my choice was the seasonal feature on the sign out front, the stone cole concrete, and hers was another seasonal treat, the gooey butter cake concrete. we each tasted a bite of each others, and though i'd say the gooey butter cake concrete had a little better taste, the stone cole was tasty too, and helped me learn there is a guy who drives a car with the restaurant logo. service - the order "runner" who took the order while we were in the drive-thru line was efficient and friendly. and while i would have been more the surprised by the drive-thru order "runner" asking our order at the car, the experience was reminiscent of experiences doing that role at the restaurant. furthermore, the worker at the drive-thru window was kind and efficient also, and another worker inside the store who is a former co-worker, appeared to be leading the team well from the dipwell position. ambiance - although the weather today was chilly, rainy, and not ideal for outside walk-up patio eating, that is a dining option i like about the restaurant. and that said, the "runner" taking our order in the drive-thru line supplied a similar fulfillment as the personal interaction of ordering at the walk-up patio station. ambiance - read more

Each time, we drove through the drive-thru because we were not going to wait in line with our talkative toddler, who might interrupt strangers' conversations. The frozen custard tasted delicious but this location needs to improve their food portions. I talked to the staff member that took my order regarding the portions and he was an absolute dick about it. They need to hire new staff because that was outrageous. I was looking forward to having a late-night snack after work, and came across the 51st store and Yale, usually I'm near the 101st location and haven't ever had any issues, granted, maybe it was just a bad day, but I arrive at the 51st and Yale location to place an order, I get to the window and ask if I can pay with tap, only to have the window slammed in my face by a young man with tattoos and red eyes. Once I had waited a little bit I was able to get ahold of him and let him know I have other ways to pay, I was able to put in my order and did receive a perfect custard, but the service was very subpar. The Jackhammer represents Andy's mastery of custard indulgence. Other places will mix-in hot fudge or warm caramel in their Blizzard-like treats (like DQ), melting your custard in seconds. Andy's creates a posthole in your cup of custard and fills it up with warm, fudgy chocolate, caramel, etc. Time is still of the essence when eating, but you at least get to enjoy a few minutes of warm fudgy chocolate contrasted against creamy cold custard before it melts together. I am a HUGE fan of the malts they offer with it but a concrete with espresso and almonds is also something to write home about. I prefer the drive thru here as the seating at this location is limited to a couple of outdoor benches, which are almost always in use in the summer months. It is fun though on occassion to order standing up through a window. I like the nostalgia of it. This location is only a couple years old and is in a busy part of tulsa but is easily accessable. Loved the walk up counter, where it was easy to order from a large menu next to us, which was two sided since it was also the drive thru menu. I grew up on this stuff and glad that there is another location that is closer to my home than the one located south on Memorial. While there is no interior seating location, the parking arrangements are much better here. It also maintains more of the original atmosphere where you either had to eat in the trunk of your car or sit down on the curb of the concrete, to enjoy your treat. I get really tired of telling people how to do their jobs. Tonight is my last night eating at Andy's for a while. I always order the Snowmonster and I pay extra for extra chocolate chip in it. Tonight I get it and their is barely any chip in it (as if its the regular) and when I ask did they put extra chip in it, they say yes (which they always say that) but the cup doesn't look like it at all. Its hard to argue or go back and fourth with the employees because you are always scared that if they take your cup or food back; they may spit in it or do something to it. It's just sad that the employees can't tell the difference between regular and extra. This has been an ongoing issue and as of tonight I am just tired of trying of paying extra and my order is not right. I love the Custard and the Snowmonster but I am so tired of my orders not being right.
