I've used Andy's before with no problem. Today I called to schedule an appointment. I told them that it would be need to be 4pm or later. The scheduler told me it would have to be 3 - 5pm and I'd need someone there at 3pm. She couldn't schedule me for 4pm. Last year I was told that many of my sprinklers were showing signs of wear and they offered to replace them. It was going to be expensive, so I passed on that offer. This year, the technician was Alvaro Fernandez (I think!). He also noted the wear on my sprinklers. But he went a step farther and looked for a cause and found it! It turns out that my sprinkler system did not have a thing that controls the water pressure and it was very high. He explained that the high pressure wears the sprinklers out. He put one (whatever it is called) on and got the pressure down. I sure do appreciate him finding the cause of my sprinklers wearing out. read more

A TOTAL jive company.... bait and switch like nothing I've ever witnessed before. They run advertisement campaigns on social media, so a consult appears free, then swap it on you last minute, now it's $79. I needed a basic job done, not rocket science. A simple trench drain in my 20' drive way. The guy on the phone, who acted as cocky as a used car salesman, lying STRAIGHT to my face while trying to convince me how honest he is, tried to explain why the only drains they sold cost $3000-4000, like it was Jesus himself who created it... it was just asinine to be treated this way, like I was a complete moron who had no common sense. These guys may very well do a good job, as some of the reviews state... however, I can GUARANTEE you, all the good reviews, those customers paid more than they should have. So inform yourself, make some calls and get other quotes, because this company, they do NOT run a straight-up business at all. read more

We've been in our new build for 5 years and never had a single issue with our irrigation system until recently, when one section of our front yard (Zone 1) kept running even after the cycle ended. We called Andy's Sprinkler, who charged about $100 for a diagnostic visit. The technician quickly discovered the issue -- a valve that simply needed to be flipped -- and that solved the problem. However, during their "diagnostic check," they presented us with a list of recommended repairs totaling around $500. We agreed, trusting their expertise. Less than a month later, one of the sprinkler heads in our flower bed -- which had been working perfectly before their visit -- suddenly stopped spraying correctly and was just dripping water. We called Andy's to explain the situation. The sales rep assured us they'd send someone back out at no charge to assess it. But before they even came out, we received a call from their employee (Kavin), telling us it would actually cost another $500 to fix. This was incredibly frustrating since the issue appeared only after their previous work. At this point, we feel taken advantage of. What started as a simple service call turned into hundreds of dollars in "recommended" fixes and now another proposed $500 repair for a problem that didn't exist before their visit. I want to see if they can do a specific repair that I am looking for, but not to the tune of 125$ just to have someone tell me what I already want to have done. Andy's technician quoted over $1,000 to replace 3 valves for the zones that were not functioning. (they were "Clicking" when activated, but the heads wouldn't come up). After the visit I started to think about the "clicking" of the solenoids, and wasn't convinced that it was the valve but thought it was electrical. When I opened the control box I noticed that the clicking 3 zones (4, 5, and 6) were all routed through to the same 3-station plug in module. I replaced the PCM300 PC 3-Station Plug in Module...Bought it on Amazon for $30.00 and that did the trick. Now zones 4, 5, and 6, are functioning properly. I emailed and called the company and asked them to void the service call invoice because it was so mis diagnosed. Then they had the tech call me which was awkward, so I explained the situation again and why he was wrong. He committed to scrapping the invoice. Then, a week later they resent me the invoice as a reminder to pay. I called again to refute, explain the situation a 3rd time....and I don't have the confidence that they heard my concern. It seems they can't get out of their own way, tried to swindle me out of $970, and ultimately lost this guy as a customer. read more

Good work, but significantly overpriced. TLDR: We were charged $800 for installation of a $250 sprinkler system controller that's intended to be a homeowner-installed item. I don't mind paying for someone to do work for me. We came home from vacation to find large spots of dead grass in our yard, and our old sprinkler system controller blown out. I was heading out on additional, business-related travel the following week, so my spouse dealt with Andy's. I knew we wanted an app-based setup, so that's what we purchased - a Rachio 3 16-station controller. Cost on rachio.com: $249. Our bill from Andy's for everything came to over $800. It took the technician (who I won't name, because I don't think the pricing is his responsibility, and because he did get the job done) 15 minutes to install the box (remember, it's meant to be a homeowner-installed item). That works out to an average hourly billing rate of $2200. Not impressed, and not recommended. read more

I had a great experience today. The two men who came to check and fix our sprinkler system were punctual, thorough and knowledgeable about what they were doing. They were very respectful and did a great job. One of the men, I believe his name was Thomas, even went as far as explaining the sprinkler system to me (as far as knowing when to change the batteries, how to determine if there is a system issue, etc.). It was raining outside and they still had no problem getting the job done. I appreciate y'all's knowledge and experience. I just built a pool and had Andy's come our to check my sprinkler system, since we didn't need certain zones. After they came and fixed it, I had 2, 6 hundred dollar water bills which I had to eat. I gave them 1 more chance to make things right and the sent a manager to meet me, and he would not budge. I told him the tech (Gavin, assistant manager) Said he would need to replace all heads for a deal of 400 dollars, so I did it. When the other team came out they said, not all of the heads were changed, and I would have to pay pay more to fix it right.....I have more sorry stories about Andy's, will post when I calm down. I rarely write reviews of businesses, but this business deserves a review. Responding to a discount offer for an inspection and seasonal adjustment for the sprinkler system, I contracted with Andy's to do their thing. A screenshot of their offered service is included. When they finished I saw the marker flags near the heads that they'd determined required replacement. Their service person presented their quote, which turned out to be 20%-30% higher than all other bidders. When I went outside the next morning, the marker flags were gone. I called immediately, but didn't speak to a manager until near the end of the day. When I asked them to return & replace the flags, they refused. They remove the flags because most people want it that way. I think it's because they want to coerce you to go with their repair service. So, when they say, "Examine each zone for any broken or malfunctioning sprinkler heads," they do not include that information in their report or quote, and remove evidence that you could use to repair yourself, or hire others to do. Andy's Sprinkler never fails to disappoint! You get lured in by their annual and persistent emails etc promising a discounted annual or summer sprinkler system check and adjustment. In my case it was a $55 deal. The system check and adjustment works fine, but of course every sprinkler system has some problems, some minor and perhaps some not. That's when they hit you with an outrageous bill to get these taken care of. I've succumbed to this twice before! After a few years I thought I'd try them again this year. Again the same huge bill estimate. I politely declined and paid for the system check and adjustment and plan to get any minor repairs required elsewhere. ---------------------- An update after seeing the owners response below: His response in incorrect! The zone that had a leak was not a critical one and was disconnected from the system so that it would not be a problem. The scope of the work was reduced to adjusting some heads and replacing some. read more

Do not waste your time. I called multiple companies and settled for the local company to help support local business. I will never do that again. Their lack of attention to detail, making excuses for their lack-luster work, breaking the handle off of the customer shut-off and lack of checking the whole system past the city meter and this for just under $1,000 when hired to complete an annual check of the whole system and repair any necessities. They came to my home on a Thursday and supposedly checked everything in the sprinkler system, replaced a control valve just past the customer shutoff. They said they turned off the water from the city main and never touched the customer shutoff, but mysteriously the handle was broken off. I left the area 2 days later for the labor day weekend and had to be called back by 3 neighbors because there was water gushing\leaking from the customer side at the front yard. By the time I made it back home (1hr), the city had already shown up and shut off my water to the house. So I spent the night without running water. (disabled elder lives in this home and the on-call was advised about this) Andy's did not want to dispatch someone that night without a $250 charge because it was a holiday weekend and I lost it. I told them they had an obligation under warranty to dispatch, resolve their error and provide the customer service they supposedly highlight. Had I not been insistent, they would have made me wait another 2 days without water before dispatching. When the on-call showed up and looked into the customer shut-off, Controller valve conduit and back-up conduit ( I had to provide the flashlight because he was using his phone light which did not provide enough light). He saw the leak where the previous crew replaced the controller. He also noticed when attempting to close the customer side shut-off that the handle was already broken. This is where the issues start. A couple months ago I had a whole house filtration system installed and that company encouraged walking me through every step of their work, install and test. Something Andy's did not offer. Nothing was broken at the city main, the customer shut off or the back from the sprinkler system. Somehow, after Andys crew performed their work, the handle to the customer shut-off was found broken and they insist this was not them that they do not touch the customer side shut-off. HOW do you do a complete annual and repair from the customer side of the water meter that feeds the irrigation control valve throughout the irrigation system and not even look and check everything from the customer side? What exactly are you doing for $1,000? 3 guys on site under 1hr and I have to call another company to fix what Andy's Irrigation broke and refuse to admit their fault. "I WILL WAIT and SEE WHAT THEY COME BACK with to RESOLVE THIS ISSUE THEY CLEARLY CAUSED" and will be speaking to an attorney in the meantime for the lost time, and additional repairs from another company (needless to say what the water bill will look like next month after the leak). I will never do business with or recommend this company to anyone. I had my sprinkler system installed by another local company in 2007. That company went out of business (owner retired) a few years ago. So... honestly, it's been a few years since I've had a checkup. I saw Andy's commercials for their spring tune-up special, so I thought I would give them a try. My yard treatment guy told me it was a great deal, so I called & scheduled it. Super easy to schedule with flexible enough hours that worked with my crazy schedule. I never answer my phone anymore, so I requested that they text to let me know when they were going to arrive. They did & the timing was perfect. I had just arrived home. Luis & Adrian were patient while I let my dogs out & they started their work in the front yard. They were professional, quick & efficient. I love that they walked me through each zone & explained what they changed. I knew I had some waste/overspray in the curb strip sections & they were able to minimize that. I was very pleased. The price was affordable. No surprises. I will use Andy's again, for sure! read more

Update: I'm changing my 1 star to 4 stars. The manager called and was able to rectify the issue and get me a sooner appointment. I greatly appreciate them taking care of the original issue. The technician was great. The office people could use a little work and be more personable. ................................................. I have been waiting over 3 weeks for an appointment. And it's tomorrow, so they call me today and say the tech is off tomorrow and want me to reschedule. I tell them the days I'm available and those don't work for them. I would think if you mess up you work with the customer to try and get them fitted in somewhere. I would have had to wait another week+. Totally inappropriate business. This review is for service provided a year ago which I forgot to post. In the past I have had great service, but last April I had a new technician come out that really wasn't honest and said 5 of my heads were broken ($442 total) but they were really working in my opinion (perhaps just needed to be pulled up a little bit). It was my fault for trusting that this tech knew what they were talking about vs. upselling me on things I did not need. This is one of the worst organizations I have dealt with. I simply had a them fix one sprinkler head and put in a new Box that controls the sprinkler heads. In May I went on vacation (honeymoon) for 3 weeks to Africa.... I came back to messages that because I hadn't paid my bill yet they were going to come and rip everything out.... I ignored this threat and several months later I received a VM from the Division Manager that he was going to have a Lien put on my house ..... all because of fixing a sprinkler system..... I am not sure but I think they believe they are the IRS or maybe the Mafia..... steer clear of this company. UPDATE: Bumped this up from 1 start to 3 because I got a call from Joe (manager) who was understanding, showed some common sense and did what they could do at this point which was to get me the quote and refund the original $47 for the service call. I already have the work scheduled with someone else but I might consider then again at some point. As I said the work was done well - just a shame the woman in the office and the tech didn't get any customer service training but hopefully that'll change. ------------------------- Had a crazy customer experience today. They originally came out and fixed the sprinkler system at our new house and did a decent job but a few weeks later two zones stopped working. I called and they agreed to come out on a "warranty" call. The tech came out and explained that two valves were bad after not being used for quite sometime and their age and the cost would be around $600 to fix. I told him that I'd discuss with my wife but she wasn't available so he said ok but there's a $50 service call fee cos it's not a warranty issue. I wasn't made aware of this but he did good work last time so I paid it. After discussing with my wife we agreed to have the work done so I called the office and was told that there wouldn't be an additional service fee just the cost of the work that I agreed to but the she said she had to contact the tech because there wasn't a quote in the system. She then called me back to say that the tech didn't submit a quote so in order to get this they'd need to send him back out again so there would be another $50 fee. I explained that this seemed to be a little foolish because all he would do is agree with himself that the quote he didn't submit was correct and then submit it but she wouldn't budge and just said sorry that's how my computer works. I asked her if she felt it was ok to charge a customer $50 for a tech to go back to my house just because the computer needed a ticket number and she said yes. At this point I just told her I'd go somewhere else. They've lost a customer and a $600 job over $50 and a bad attitude. Clearly this is just dumb and their computer system needs some work but what made me not want to work with them is this woman attitude. There was nothing she could do because the computer didn't let her. There was no understanding or common sense and no desire to really understand the issue or care to get it fixed. read more

OMG! Worst customer service ever!!! Two weeks ago I had someone from Andy's come out to fix an irrigation leak in our backyard. It continued to leak so I called to reschedule the repair again as a warranty issue. Their office sent a text message for the day the tech would come out and as I needed this fixed, I rescheduled everything I planned for the day. I called the office to find out when he'd be here and was told the tech schedules that. If (IF) he could come out, he'd call me. I called the tech to find out the time and he said he'd try to make it out, but was busy and not sure he could. He'd try and he'd thought that more than likely be by. WHAT!!! By the way....cost us over $800 for the first appointment that did not solve the problem. Changing my review. Why my problem wasn't solved, they came out a second time to see if there was something else they could do. I give Mike credit for making the second attempt. read more

Nobody had come to inspect as it has been over 2 months and I called and they said they don't know anything about it. Technician Chris gave us a verbal estimate to install a system with pop up heads (rainbird) for between 2,500 and $3,500 then later in the day emails me a bid for over $9,100.00 with no explanation. Additionally regarding a repair for a valve he looked for, for an hour, without ever finding the valve, he quoted $500.00 to replace the valve as a solution to dry grass. I spoke to his boss, Joe and although he let me talk for a long time he offered many different reasons why $500 was quoted : 1st more money would be required to find the valve and b/c our system is 'drip' digging might be required to offer the solution. He also stated Chris may have thought we had a bigger 12 inch valve kit that required full replacement and if so the kit & labor would be : $385.00 & the bid was padded if extra time / labor were required. Oddly why would Chris think we had a bigger horizontal valve kit in 1 particular valve casing b//c he spent plenty time in our yard with the 4 zones all having circular valve casings. How do you fit a horizontal kit into a round hole? Then I went here on Yelp and see many others made statements about price gouging. On my premier neighborhood site dozens of neighbors too discussed price gouging by Andy's techs and in many industries as we live in a wealthy neighborhood. I'm offering a 2 star rather than a 1 star as the manager let me speak of my concerns & attempted to determine why the $500.00 bid. We also discussed how big sprinkler industry leaders have big prices as opposed to local small business owners due to their overhead, training, fancy trucks, etc. I did find an experienced technician with 25 years experience highly rated in our neighborhood who did a system check to ensure what was working or not working. He replaced the solenoid valve & wires on zone # 4, repaired a leak all for $95, I tipped him $25 for same day service. If you're fine with paying outrageous money for Andy's parts & labors I do feel they have competent techs to get the job done. But there are plenty of small business men like I hired who are honest, efficient, & highly competent in their work. I did appreciate the opportunity to speak at length with a manager and I appreciated he waived their trip fee of $95. Yet I still was not given the real reason we were quoted $500 as the responses were all speculative in nature and he couldn't see the photo I shared with him of only 2 components in the small circular valve casing. He did say if /when the repair was completed it took less time or parts then expected the cost would be adjusted & I did believe that to be true notwithstanding the price gouging posts. But, really! $500.00 estimated to repair a solenoid valve that cost $9.97 at Home Depot & a couple wires still blows my mind how the repair would add up to $500.00!!! And that $500.00 was estimated before the tech could find the valve to confirm it was dead. Even a supervisor came out & couldn't find the valve. But the tech w 25 years experience , a nice truck w the parts needed & 2 helpers, found it in 5 minutes! Best of luck on your sprinkler repairs. read more

Good communication and polite workers. Their pricing is really high. $95 for the service call which won't be taken off if you have work done. Replacing a few heads and adjusting a few other cost over $500. My system had an error after they worked on it, which they said was unrelated. A zone was out and needed a new part. I've had it done years ago for $130 by someone else. Andy's charged me $280, and that was after they agreed to not charge a 2nd service call fee. Luis and the other guy did service on my sprinkler's system and they did a poor job. They replaced a valve from zone 2 they were not suppose to even after I initially told them my sprinkler system had low pressure. They never checked the low water pressure initially with the gauge and were guessing at the problem. At the end after over 1 hour of guessing at the problem they gave me a very high quote on replacing the Pressure Reducing Valve of 710! I told them I would think about it. So I put a bad review on Google also then the manager Joe Stuckey calls me days after and I told him my story and he then twists the story when he replied to the review in his favor to make their company look good in him and Andy. He was not around to witness the poor job his guys did but yet he changes the story in Andy's favor. This company does not care about customers if they are willing to change a story in their favor even if the owner Andy and or supervisor cannot attest to it. What a scam! My sprinkler system was installed by Andy's and I inherited them when I bought the house 7 years ago. This month, we had a calamity as a worker had smashed the mainline of the system and I was losing massive amounts of water without knowing it. I called Andy's and was very happy when Denim and his crew came over to address the problem. Even though I was traveling, they kept me apprised by phone and walked me through everything they needed to do. I had them do a full tune up while they were here and everything is looking and spraying great. My sprinkler system is the lifeline of my lawn and I'm thankful to have Andy's keeping it right! read more

Andy's installed the irrigation system at my house in 2011, about two years before we moved in. Fortunately, the previous owners kept all the installation details. Noticing a few busted heads and brown spots in my yard this summer, I figured they would be the right folks to call and make a few tweaks and repairs. I made an appointment about two weeks in advance, blocked off my schedule that morning so I could be there to provide assistance, and they never showed. I sent them a message about it and they never replied. Gonna go on a limb and assume they got a bigger job and bailed on me. Which is fine, this is capitalism, and I'm used to it in boomtown Austin.
