The crew was friendly and worked quickly, but overall I was disappointed with this experience and wouldn't use them again. I called them to build a french drain. The first drainage solution they installed didn't work. Before work started, I tried to get clarity on their drain design, but the receptionist couldn't answer my questions. They said the team lead would call me, but that call never came. After the first design didn't work, I had to follow up myself to get them to come back out, and it took another 3-4 weeks before they returned. They did come back and implement a better solution, but the installation skips what I understand to be standard practice: a proper burrito wrap (fabric, gravel, pipe, gravel, sand, closed wrap). Without it, I'm genuinely concerned the drain will silt up and fail within a few years, meaning I'll be digging it back up on my own dime. Again, the guys on the job were pleasant and efficient. I just wish the communication and the craftsmanship matched that. For a project like this where you're burying the work underground and hoping it holds for decades, the details matter. read more

I have used this company 2 times in the past and had good experiences. I scheduled service for normal maintenance a few weeks ago, making sure to schedule on a day I could be home to meet them. They texted the morning of the appointment to confirm, then never showed. While annoyed I decided to just let it go and find another company for my business. Then they sent me an invoice - for service that never happened. I called and they agreed to fix the invoice error, but no one ever explained the no-show or offered any apology. They never even asked if they could reschedule the service I had asked originally requested. I don't think this is a reliable company at this point. read more

I scheduled this company to come out and do a system repair and service. Anthony quickly found a problem then rescheduled my appointment because he said this repair was not included in his time. When he came back 2-3 days later he was acting like he did not want to be there. He started trying to find reasons not to finish the job that day and literally started using cuss words while talking to me. I am used to people cussing but not during business interactions. I had to convince him to call his office and reschedule his next appointment as he wanted to reschedule me again and cause me to come back another day. Anthony finally finished 5 hours later. After he left, I checked over the repairs he did and found that most of them were done sloppily. Some sprinkler heads were still in need of adjustment. After the interactions with this tech, I did not feel comfortable calling them back out. I will get these adjusted via another route as this company has very bad customer service procedures. Lastly when I received my invoice, I noticed charges that were not discussed in advance before the work had been completed. After 3 weeks of trying to get in touch with a company rep. to resolve the invoice charges and pay, I received a text from the owner Phill Thompson who threatened legal action if the invoice was not paid within 24 hours. He never tried to call or even email to discuss my concerns, just sent a threatening text. I would have paid the invoice three weeks earlier had this company had a proper way of addressing customer issues. read more

We had one sprinkler system valve that was leaking. Anthony came and not only replaced it, he also checked the popup heads and reset the controller. That means when the dry season starts, all I have to do its turn the system on. I was especially pleased that Anthony answered my questions and patiently explained to me what to do next time a hard freeze is expected. We have used Austex since we bought a house with a sprinkler system. 8 years or so. This time I'm very disappointed. I could not get the system to run and called them out. A switch was off. Yet the service tech continued and found a problem with a nozzle and replaced it. However, they did not check the system for leaks. I inquired for clarification and never got a response. They are persistent in getting invoices paid as I'd get s as list daily reminders. A week after the service a phone call. Ah... so this is how you get a call back- don't pay. It was practically impossible to get an appointment in the first place! Upon speaking to the rep I learned I should have asked for an inspection and not a repair. I had asked for neither just stated the facts. I figure when you call a specialist it's because you don't have the knowledge yourself. Here we are being asked to make another appointment because I did not ask for inspection. So... if you are lucky enough to get through for an appointment don't tell them anything is wrong with your system. Just tell them you want an inspection. Offer no other info and be sure to check the problem you called about in the first place before they leave your site to make sure they caught it and addressed it. Very disappointed! As most of you may be aware by now, most companies of this nature are backlogged by several weeks. Regardless, booked an appointment with them to repair a damaged ( non functional ) sprinkler line and to replace several defective sprinkler heads. We worked with Anthony as the service technician. Anthony was amiable, knowledgeable and patient in regards to diagnosing some issues, making recommendations and answering numerous other related questions. The quality of the work was excellent and the end result was better than expected. I would recommend the team to my friends and cohorts. I discovered a bad leak in my sprinkler system a few days before going on vacation. Unfortunately it's a busy time and no one had any appointments. Except for Austex. It was nice to get a person answering the phone, rather than voicemail (or one voicemail telling me to leave an email). The person who answered was helpful and scheduled me for the next day. Luciano showed up and was marvelous. I had a leak from a few years ago when Google Fiber tore up the streets. I had had them come back twice to fix it, but apparently they didn't do a very good job gluing the PVC and it fell apart as if it wasn't glued. And I called Google Fiber later, they were very nice, but aren't responsible for leaks over a year old. Well at least I asked. I should have checked their work more carefully at the time, particularly since they had to come at least twice. Luciano fixed it properly, then inspected my whole system (which I'm no longer going to "assume" is working again). He adjusted it properly, made a few minor changes to the timer (he knows more about this than I do) and did it all quickly and professionally. The price was fair too. I called Austex Sprinklers for a second opinion after a different provider wanted to replace a bunch of parts in the irrigation system of my rental property. Throughout the process they were professional and responsive: from the person who answered my phone call to the one who chatted with me on Yelp to schedule and of course the person who came by to diagnose and fix the issue. The fix that they offered was way simpler and cheaper than what the previous provider recommended and the tenant confirmed that everything is working great. I would recommend Austex! We didn't have the best experience with the first technician- he lacked professionalism and didn't finish the job. (We needed a few sprinkler heads replaced and he didn't have the parts). After speaking with Logan (manager?) we came up with a plan to have someone back out and they were very fair/reasonable with the billing so I didn't get stuck with a big 2 visit bill for something that should have been completed in one visit. The second technician was great, communicated well, completed the job promptly and even found a second issue he was able to quickly fix. I don't do reviews often, but I'm glad I gave them a second chance. We're all human and can't have the best day everyday. Overall, they were professional and did a great job. read more

I contact them to see if they could replace a water pressure pump. The person answering the phone said that they could replace it so I made an appointment with them. As soon as the worker got there, he said he could not do the job. Now they're charging me $150. If I knew they couldn't do the job I would've never made the appointment.
