So the doctor is lying in her response to my first review. My skin hyperpigmented immediately after her esthetician applied the peel. I had Microneedling done by a clinic several weeks after that and it drastically improved my skin. I declined her help because she lied some more and tried to blame the microneedling for the damage, which is impossible because the microneedling was done after her office did the damage. To be very clear, the doctor is trying to change her words, but she claimed the Microneedling caused hyperpigmentation that was on my face PRIOR to microneedling. Edit: I see the esthetician who works at the clinic decided to write the clinic a 5 star review in response to mine, calling me bitter and vengeful. Just the fact that they are obsessing over my bad review in August over a chemical peel that happened in January should tell you everything you need to know. Having an employee create an account just to name-call a former customer is incredibly unprofessional. I don't want my pictures posted because I have a right to privacy just like anyone else. I don't like my pictures and info on the internet. Also, they took the pictures before both chemical peels. The second chemical peel was in January. The hyperpigmentation occurred immediately after my face finished peeling in January when I was at home. I could actually post screenshots of text messages that I sent to friends and family back in January and February PRIOR to microneedling telling them how devastated I was that the chemical peel left hyperpigmentation under my eye since I'm not good about deleting text. I went back to see them in the Spring when they reached out offering to fix it, which is when they took after pictures for the second chemical peel. This was in March. At that point, my face had been microneedled and was showing improvement already, so their pics don't prove anything. It's not like I'm getting money or anything from posting these reviews. I just wanted to share my experience. Of course, they are a business and want to protect their reputation, so they do have an incentive to lie unlike me. It's really sad that they have resorted to having an employee write a review to name call me and accuse me of trying to harm a black owned business, despite me going out of my way to support black owned businesses as the daughter of a black business owner. This situation could have been a lot different if they had never tried to blame the hyperpigmentation under my eye from the chemical peel on microneedling that was received after the hyperpigmentation occurred. When they reached out to help me fix it, I was ready and willing to delete my initial review and work with them until they decided to try to lie and now have an employee posting a review in response portraying me as a bitter, vengeful liar who just wants to hurt a black owned business. I don't work with dishonest people because you can't trust them. Instead of obsessing over my one bad review, they should focus on providing good customer service to the current and future clients and leave me alone. Sometimes customers have negative experiences and post reviews about it. That's a part of owning a business. Lashing out and arguing is not the way to handle it. Customers have a right to write about their experiences, good and bad, and that's what I did. I'm tired of getting alerts about them replying to my reviews. I want to move on from the situation and wish they would too. It's been several months. This is beyond ridiculous. read more

I left Anew less than two hours ago, and wanted to write a review before the rest of the day passed! My Dermaplaning appointment was with Aisha, and if you have never heard of/tried Dermaplaning, you are missing out: your skin will feel as soft as it was when you were a baby (no exaggeration), and without dead skin and wispy hair on your skin, your cleaners, moisturizers, serums, etc will actually get down into your pores. Remember, you need to get the gunk off before anything can work. This is totally painless, you won't leave with a bright-red face and need to hide out for the rest of the day (or weekend); actually, your hair won't even get messed up in that way that it does after a facial and you want to run home and wash it. Nope, all you will leave with is fresh, glowing skin. Aisha also used the VERY COOL "Observ 520" machine on my face and produced pictures so I could see my skin's layers deep down below. Yikes, if you see a few spots, scars and/or sundamaged areas when you look in the mirror, wait until you see what you can't see. She emailed them to me so I can scare all my friends as well :) I found Anew via a Groupon deal, and am glad I purchased; I will definitely be back, scheduling was incredibly easy to do online (hooray for online scheduling) and just 1.5 blocks from the Metro. read more

I had the most amazing experience at AnewSkin Medspa. I have had fillers before to my cheeks and nose area, OMG, it hurt so much I swore I would never do that again, I hate needles! I decided to try Botox to my frown lines and laughter lines. A friend recommended another Medspa in DC, but after seeing her really arched eyebrows , I took a hard pass, LOL. My search led me to Anewskin Medspa. I had my consultation with Dr. Sarumi and she reassured me that she would use plenty of topical anesthetics she then tells me that she could also do my fillers under a local nerve block. So, I ended up doing both Botox and fillers. Totally painless! After my injection I was placed under LED light to decrease inflammation and bruising. It's been a week now, absolutely no bruising, no "Botox eyebrows". WIN WIN, I will definitely be back many times over. read more

I have been researching laser hair removal for quite some time. The first medical spa I went to did not even have a physician, and it turned out the machines they used was something called IPL and not real lasers which require physician supervision. Thanks google! Now I sound like I know what I'm talking about! A friend referred me to the aesthetic physicians at AnewSkin Aesthetic Clinic and Medical Spa; The clinic was clean and beautifully decorated, ( recent renovation???). The entire staff from the front desk to the physicians were very professional. My aesthetic physician was kind, caring and easy to talk to. She explained the procedure in detail and I was confident enough to schedule my treatment right there and then. On my procedure day, there was no wait time, my hair removal was virtually painless, every step of the procedure was explained to me in detail. I will definitely be returning to complete my treatment series. I have also signed up for some red LED light therapy for my problem skin I can't wait to have that treatment. In for a penny, in for a pound haha! I am pleased with my discovery of this gem in DC. read more

I have finally decided I wanted to get laser hair removal and found this medspa and set up to do the online consultation. I chose the 1:30 pm time slot and the meeting was changed to 2:30 pm, which is not a big deal if they let you know it is being changed. I got an e-mail the day before letting me know it was at 2:30 pm and I was confused because my other appointment time was at 1:30pm. I did not want to miss the appointment, so I tried to get on at 1:30 pm and it says I need a password. I email twice asking about it and I called who emailed me the day before Mahli Hernandez. She kept saying she could not hear me so I called again and she was very rude and short with me. I started to express my distaste for everything was going on and she hung up on me. I decided to let it go to have the meeting at 2:30 pm and still can't get on need a password and to which no one is any help. I called and no answer. Very disappointing today because I was really looking forward to the appointment and learning more about laser hair removal. First impressions are everything and that was the worst first impression ever. I hope you have a better experience than myself but I would be weary of this company because if they treat you like this in beginning who knows what miscommunications or disrespect you will receive on the backend. read more

Made an appointment a day in advance for a dermaplane facial. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Arrived today and the receptionist immediately greeted me and checked me in. Again, very friendly and helpful. My appointment was with Sherrell. She was kind, helpful, professional and of course, has beautiful skin. She clearly knows what she's doing! Throughout the treatment was making sure I was comfortable and knew what she was doing. The appointment ended with her giving me follow up care instructions and suggestions for my skincare in the future (but not pushy or trying to sell product). I will be back! read more

I signed up for the body sculpting program at AnewSkin Medspa. I get cold laser fat destroying treatment followed by radiofrequency treatments every 2 weeks for a low monthly fee. I have been working out for over 5 years and I could never seem to get rid of my abdominal pouch. No amount of crunches seemed to help. It has been 3 months of ongoing treatment and I already lost 2 inches off my waist. I am so excited! The program is a perfect compliment to my workouts, I now feel like I am getting the extra help I need to improve my bulge.
