I don't think I've ever hired anyone to do any kind of a job that would not come back out and fix their mistakes. I had Dreamcrete come out to my house to give me a bid for a stamped concrete driveway. A gentleman came out and was very thorough. When I asked him about removing the entire driveway, he was adamant that it didn't need to be done. He said our concrete had been there for a while and was done settling and there would be no need for that. I've worked with concrete in New Jersey in the past and I know it does crack, but he assured me that they cut into the cracks in the existing concrete and seal them. He also stated that because we don't get the cold weather here and the bonding used, it would not crack the stamping, He said they would be able to go right over the existing driveway. I reiterated about the cracking, considering they only put a 3/8 inch thin set over top of the concrete and that I was afraid it wasn't strong enough to hold the weight of vehicles, but again he assured me that it will not crack. He told me they've done this type of job before, including for Disney. Once they completed the job, it looked extremely nice. But, they put the expansion joint in the wrong place and had to come back and chip up the right side and redo it and re-cut the expansion joint.  While they were there, I showed them some of the cracks that were already coming through, which was only 5-6 months after the job was completed. They said they would reach out to their boss and get back to me. Once they left, I never heard back from them. A month later, I started seeing a lot more cracks, so I called them again. They sent someone out to look at it. He noticed how bad it looked and understood why I was upset and took pictures to send them to the boss. The boss said concrete is going to crack. I told him about the conversation I had with the estimator about him assuring me that it would not crack. His answer was that he no longer worked with the company. He continued by saying if I wanted it to be fixed, they could redo the entire driveway, but that I would have to pay them to redo the job. At that point, I already paid them almost $20,000. Since then, I've noticed the last few months that the stamping is now peeling away from the existing driveway and every time I blow off my lawn, I'm finding more and more pieces that are separating. But I was coldly greeted just steps inside the main door by a design sales person, who took one look at concept picture I had saved off a nationally recognized website and immediately blew me off, he basically indicated without knowing me that bathroom pictured was more than I can afford. It was clear to me if you go to this place without a prearranged construction allowance from a builder they don't want to waste their time. I walked around their underwhelming show room, then left. I guess the next time I go to a place like this I'll have to pretend I'm their for a new construction with an allowance for a KItchen and bathrooms or at least drive up to the store in one of those overpriced European cars with a fancy name just to be welcomed and served.

Aside from the initial retainer, I agreed to pay her a 10% "management fee" on every service and product purchased through her. She assured me that I wouldn't have to worry about anything because she would handle receiving furniture and organizing everything in my home. Unfortunately, that could not have been further from the truth. She repeatedly asked me and my fiancé to receive deliveries for her, even though we both work full-time in Orlando and had made it clear from the beginning that we couldn't be there to accept furniture. This was one of the main services she promised she would take care of, yet she failed to deliver. The only day she actually came to my home to receive some furniture, she left it in complete disarray. Boxes were left open and scattered around the house, the bedroom was unfinished, and when she adjusted the dining room chandelier, she left a hole in the ceiling with insulation falling out and light covers thrown around the house. She even claimed that I was responsible for covering the cost of repairing the hole in the ceiling. I also hired a curtain installation company through her, only to be told later that she wouldn't even monitor the service because she "trusted the provider." This was supposed to be part of the management fee I was already paying her for. When I confronted her about the mess she left behind, her response was that I could just put all the decorative items together myself--and then she simply sent me an Amazon folder with links to purchase them directly. That is not what I hired a designer for. I expected a well-organized, professionally decorated home, especially for the price I paid. Instead, I was left with unfinished work, unnecessary stress, and now I will have to complete everything myself.

Recently had our kitchen completely remodeled. There were so many issues with my old kitchen, the…read morecabinets were ugly, the space just wasn't used well at all and I had a couple of ideas about things I always wanted to have in my "dream kitchen" (ie - a corner cabinet with a glass door and a lazy susan inside, that's right, straight from the 80s). Junior came out and met with us and somehow managed to translate my insane ramblings about shadowboxes and faux islands into exactly what I was wanting. He was able to make some recommendations for things I would have never even thought of (moving our stove down a few inches for extra drawers and building our fridge into the cabinets so we have more over fridge storage) and had our drawings to us immediately. He was up front about the pricing and we were able to pick and choose from options that met our needs but kept us within budget. The only real snag we hit was when my husband decided to go out on his own for places to buy granite from, but once we shopped from the list that Junior had given us things went a lot smoother. I was impressed with how organized everything was throughout the entire planning process. Junior gave us a timeline on when our work could begin and things went according to plan. The crew was friendly and worked really hard, they kept things as neat as you can expect from a kitchen remodel. Given everything I hear from other folks that have done kitchen remodels, I was braced for a lot of pain and delays, so I am pleased to report that things actually went faster than expected once I understood that the granite takes about a week to have cut after the cabinets are installed. I am so happy with my new kitchen, it is literally my dream come true. I cannot rave enough about Junior and the team from I4. =)

He asked me to send pictures and measurements and that he would be out the next day. 30 mins before he was suppose to be there, he called with a price over $9000 the highest estimate that I received. We talked about differences, and I mentioned that we had terrazzo so we did not want tile. He did not know what terrazzo was. I told him thank you, I was not interested in the estimate and hung up. I am sorry but if a estimator/designer in FL does not know what terrazzo is, I have issues since this is the most common flooring that was used in the older homes.

I don't shop the mall for high-end furniture and certainly not for an entire room. Think French country estate, not french farmhouse. We had nearly given up, when we found French Furniture Orlando! The Owner, Isaac, and his son Nathan, were great! Isaac was extremely helpful and very patient with us. My fiancée could not decide on the fabric and he helped us to find the right selection to match our other furniture and feel of the décor. He even offered up suggestions that would save us money, rather than what most companies do and try to upsell you to spend more. The furniture is made in Italy and will take 4-6 months to arrive, but it is worth the wait! What does a few months matter when you have a beautiful, unique and quality piece that will make a statement in your home and you will enjoy for 20 year to come?! So far, our experience with French Furniture Orlando has been exceptional! I will update this post in 4-6 months once I receive the furniture and let you know how I feel then. But so far....so GREAT! However, she was close so we added her to the list of decorators to show up at our home for our interview phase. She gained our trust completely. My nxt case came when she asked for 50% down of her project. We had nothing but a contract and our belief in her.
