If you aren't keeping your eyes peeled for this spot, you might miss it. Angelo's actual store is located inside a cute little cottage/barn off the road. This is a meat lover's paradise. The jerky was truly the highlight. The employee let us try all of the jerky samples (generous portions) we wanted, and talked about what kinds of flavors and textures would be best for our tastes. My favorites were the teriyaki turkey jerky and garlic beef jerky. Both varieties have a sweet, tender chew. No dried out jerky here. Make sure to check out the grab and go refrigerators opposite of the cash register. Purchased a 50lb whole pig from Angelo's and it was INCREDIBLE! I added the extra injection brine for only $25 and they even lent me a cooler to transport the pig. I called about 2 weeks ahead of time and they were incredibly responsive, when I arrived to pick up the pig they helped me to my car and explained everything to me. The store is cozy and has a real old school ambiance. I recommend Angelo's whole heartedly and am already looking for an excuse to host another pig roast. read more

Vegetarians turn away now! Angelo's Meats is a staple in Sonoma County, whether it be his deli in Sonoma or his legendary meat market in Petaluma. I tend to stop a few times a year and everytime it is well worth it! I usually only pick up the salami, sausages, and bacon, not to put down the other phenomenal meats, but I am usually on a mission when going to Angelo's. To put it out there, yes it is not cheap, but handmade and local goods are not cheap to produce, so in this case it does not bother me one bit! In October 2009, me and my family were driving through Sonoma when we wanted a bite to eat for lunch and saw your sign on the road, so we stopped off to get some sandwiches. We came in and wanted to buy out half the store. Your stuff was so delicious and tasty, it was so much better than a lot of " delis " ( especially supermarket ones ) back home in Massachusetts. I, myself bought beef jerky, mustard and who knows whatever else I could fit in my suitcase to bring back with me and to this day we never forgot about your store and how special it was. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when my parents and I were reminiscing about the trip and my mother said if I enjoyed the jerky so much that I should order some for myself. I called up the store in Petaluma and talked to the nicest lady ( I believe she might have been the owner's wife ) who took my order. I told her about the trip and how we always worry about you guys whenever we hear stories on the news about the wildfires and whatever else happens that California seems to go through, because beside the people obviously, we would be devastated if anything happened to one of our favorite experiences while we were on that vacation. So I ordered some jerky, mustard and BBQ sauce from her. I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I got to the mailbox and could smell the garlic through the box it was shipped in. But I held off on opening the jerky until yesterday when I went over some friends house to watch the Patriots play and they all couldn't believe how good your jerky was. It was so tender and had so much flavor to it without being overpowering to the point where they wished there was a place like this where we are from and doesn't even compare to what so many supermarkets, gas stations, convenience stores and whatever sell that's prepackaged and has who knows what for ingredients in them. Holy cow!!! We stopped by here after going to Oregon to see the total solar eclipse and we wanted to stop by Napa valley before heading back to the Los Angeles area. They have the best Jerky I have ever tasted in my life!! So fresh and full of flavors. They also have fresh meat here you can take home and cook or grill. It's all fresh cut meat. I love this place. The smoked sausages are great but I like the unsmoked italian sausages for making spaghetti sauce. I used to go here for the tri-tip roasts but then I started getting the pork shoulder injected with Angelo's brine and coated with Angelo's dry rub. They'll even put it in some netting which will help it cook uniformly on the smoker. Smoke it low and slow and the results are phenomenal. They also smoke a pig that has been stuffed with multiple pork shoulders. I can't wait to try this one day when I have a big enough party. Also note that there are two Angelo's. This one is the place to go for raw meat, the other one is the deli! Sometimes I go to both because its on the way home and I like to get a sandwich for the road :) read more

From pork, sausage, rib eye and New York's the meat is fresh, local, and beautifully trimmed. There are 20 choices of jerky, farm fresh eggs from their ranch just west of the Marin Cheese Company on Hicks Valley Road, West Marin County, and don't leave without a package of Angelos dry rub - for the tri-tip. Platter bacon and a variety of smoked meats and fish - all is tasty. You'll also find family behind the counters and in the smoke house. We moved to Minden Nevada 41/2 yrs ago, went to our local meat places to buy Ribeye Steaks and all we can say is, they can not compare to Angelos Steaks. We now travel from Minden. NV to Petaluma, CA just to buy from Angelo and will continue as long as they stay in business, which we pray will be for a very long time. This place has the best meat I have ever had. The ribey melted in my mouth, and the bacon was to die for, and don't even get me started on the beef jerky.This is the way meat is supposed to taste. I wish the smell could be packaged. I have stopped by both the Sonoma location and the Petalum location. The Petaluma location is a little confusing when you drive up. It does not look like your usual store front. But that is ok. Walk into the doors to your right and allow the smells to wash over you as you as you float through the scents of smokey meats. Inside you will be met be some very engaging folks that will give you some great recipe suggestions or meat selections or a sample of their fantastic flavorful jerry. They are very accommodating. This place is fantastic! Drove by it for years and always wondered about it, and then finally checked it out one day. I am SO glad that I finally did and feel like a fool for driving by it for some many years! Everything I have ever gotten from Angelo's has been fantastic. Their bacon is LITERALLY the best bacon I have ever had in my life. It is absolutely wonderful! I don't think I can ever eat any other bacon again. Got one of their hams as well and it was superb! These are my 3 mainstays at Angelo's, but what really put it completely over the edge for me was the day I stopped in to get Jerky for my son. My son is currently deployed to Kandahar Afghanistan, when I asked Angelo about how to ship to that far away he asked me for his address. I jotted it down, finished my purchase and went home to pack yet another care package. About a month later my son called me on Skype and was showing me a box that was sent to his platoon from Angelo, a wonderful collection of jerky for them all. Stopped here on the way back from a motorcycle ride, as my buddy saw the free jerky samples sign. Samples were good, and I ended up getting a couple packs of teriyaki jerky, a pack of garlic jerky, some of Angelo's Garlic stuffed olives, and a smoked Turkey Leg for lunch. My buddy got some jerky, salami, and bacon. We were pleased with the quality. My only complaint was that the Turkey Leg was not warmed up when I initially started eating it, but Angelo saw this and told me it would be much tastier warmed up. He was correct, but it certainly was not bad cold. read more
