chicken and arrachera already seasoned and shrimp

Got the meat for my little sisters carne asada here and it was worth it! Ordered over the phone and it was ready in time. The girl in the phone gave me options to order bc it was my first time and was unsure of what to get. Got chicken and arrachera already seasoned and shrimp and it was a hit everyone loved it

    1" Ribeye steak

Carniceria Contreras is a jewel of Sonoma county! Chicken, pork, beef, goat, lamb - they have it. I go here for rib eye steaks - 1" thick. They will cut it any thickness off a big hunk of meat right before your very eyes! They have the best meat of anywhere I have purchased. Here is how to cook those 1" thick pieces of heaven: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtjo8DDspx0 Bonus #1: Pick up a bag of "trimmings" - which is fat from previous purchases - for free and cut those trimmings into tiny pieces. Put the trimmings in small baggies and freeze them. Later, give them to your chickens periodically as a treat. You have no chickens? Get some or give them to wild birds ( if you feed birds ) in the winter time when it is wet. That added fat will be helpful for them produce "preen gland" oil for their feathers so they can waterproof their coats. Bonus #2: This place is close to Matos Cheese Factory ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/matos-cheese-factory-santa-rosa ) - their cheese will go well with that first glass of wine before you enjoy your steak. Bonus #3: There is a mobile taco truck there that serves amazing tacos... and goat tacos on Saturdays. This isn't one of those taco trucks that sells bananas and hardboiled eggs - it's all about the tacos - and when you eat two or three, you will feel like a real Mexican for a few minutes - pretty good feeling for a gringo! It's a beautiful drive to Carniceria Contreras. I like to go on a Saturday if I'm in the area. Remember: Bring cash or a debit card because they do not take checks or credit!

Bought 10 good size rib eye steaks for a bbq. Trimmed the fat then weighed it. I chose the thickness. Tasty meat. Reasonable.

Terrific food and butcher shop for all your holiday roasting needs. Although it is a little out of the way, this place is worth the trip.

Last year we bought a quarter cow from Buds Meats with the cow from Stemple Creek. We had a great…read moreexperience with them and tried to do it again this year but they weren't taking orders, which led us to Willowside. We opted this year to do a half cow, which now seems to me probably overly optimistic, but that's what we did. We wanted grass fed/grass finished which is usually more expensive and harder to get, but Willowside told us no problem and we put down the $100 deposit. It seemed like almost overnight they were able to get all the stars aligned to get the cow ready and they were already calling me for preferences on cuts. I love the attention to detail we were given on education of different things, because for me having been a vegetarian for many years, this is a lot of info building still. We found out our cow topped the scales at over 800 lbs so our half share was about 412 or so and cost about $2300. We opted for vacuumed packed rather than butcher paper, and gave them our preferences on size of cuts. When we arrived to pick everything up we did have some challenges with making sure we had everything - I was told it would be 8 boxes but it only ended up being 6, and we couldn't find the bone marrow which was one of the big selling points for the half cow. Undaunted we took our prizes home and I set out packing two complete freezers full of meats and bones. I have yet to try the beef but it looks beautiful. Overall it was a good price, quick turn around, and I especially liked that the grass fed cows come from Full Circle Ranches which is in Petaluma and is run by a friend of the owner of Willowside so that's good local business. Definitely looking forward to burgers and roasts in the very near future!
