Used to love the pizza here, it was really was just like pizza up north. Ordered two pizzas on Sunday and was very disappointed. The 1/2 mushroom had maybe 12 tiny slices of mushrooms and two slices of the half had none on them. Also very cheap with the sausage on the other pie. Not worth the extra $ for toppings. Not a good experience. Ordered their Sicilian pizza and I didn't like it. The dough / crust was nearly 3 inches thick and it was tough. So tough that I could hardly cut it and it tasted old and yeasty. I've had Sicilian pizza before and I know it's thick crust but this was way too much dough. We first started dining at Angelo's four years ago, even had a favorite waitress, Nicole. Since the change of location, the quality of dining in has changed. They need accustical tiles put up, because you cannot hear your dining companion without shouting at each other. So now we take out. Last night 09-04-2015, aout 6:00pm, I went to Angelo's to order and wait for a pizza. I do this because I have had problems with ordering over the phone. So I watch and wait for my pizza. My order is simple, well I think so. I like my crust lightly cooked, no big deal right? Wrong! My pizza came out with BLACK places all over the bottom of the crust! I am a bread baker and I like my crust to have a golden color. The normal pizza there has a very dark brown/blackened crust and I believe it can ruin the pizza taste. I dealt with Angelo, from the minute I went in. So when he presented me with a burned crusted pizza I refused it. I could tell it made him mad. In my defense, this was the third time for take out pizza they have ruined. My question is, how many times do we have to send a pizza back ? This was the fourth one refused because they over-cooked it. This gets better. The gentleman eating beside me, had a large specialty salad ($7.00) which he told me tasted so bad he could not eat it. I heard him try to get his server's attention, but was ignored. Someone slipped his bill to him and left without a word. One waitress offered to box it up for him, he told her he could not eat it because it was awful. She took his credit card and rang him out, charging for the salad he had only taken a bite from. While the two of us sat there, we watched Angelo prepare a small order of garlic knots. After being told it was suppose to be a LARGE order, Angelo took out a LARGER plate and dumped the small order of knots on the larger plate and sent it out!!! By the way, the knots are pre-made and just reheated in the oven. Needless to say, Angelo lost two customers last night. Two stars because the pizzas when cooked correctly are great! read more

Expected authentic from all of the reviews. I had chicken marsala. The sauce was so bland, I don't think that there was any marsala wine in it. The mushrooms were grey and straight out of a can, no flavor. Chicken had no seasoning, but was tender, not overcooked. My husband had baked ziti, his favorite. He said that it was just so-so, but that he wouldn't order it again. Bread and salads were good and fresh. Staff was very nice and attentive. Everything looked clean. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things? We will try them again because they seem like such a nice family. read more

Having just 'retired" to Holiday, and knowing no one in the area, we are pretty much making our restaurant choices from yelp reviews and the menus published on-line. This restaurant is in a small strip mall, next to a nails shop. On another day we had peeked in the front windows to find the place full. To us, that is a good sign. Our 1st impression was very favorable. Wonderful decor, friendly staff to meet us, and wonderful smells coming out of the kitchen. The bright cheery waitress asked us almost immediately what she could get us to drink, and she was back in a flash with the drinks. We mentioned to her that we had gone as far as to look up the menu on their website. We were told, without going into great detail, that the menu on line is not a true choosing, and not put up by the restaurant. They are currently trying to get it taken down, but, it seems that the website is actually owned by someone else, and they will take it down for a price, an issue the owners are trying to get resolved. Bottom line, don't believe the online menu, BUT DO go in, the choices are so much better. The bread basket is wonderful, hot, french rolls are served with soft butter. The heat of the rolls completed the nice melting of the butter making this a wonderful beginning. We started with the Bruschetta appetizer. The Balsamic reduction served to complement the Bruschetta was wonderful and sweet. The crustines were toasted beautifully. Hubby loved the overall taste, for me, the tanginess of the red wine vinegar in the marinade for the Bruschetta topping was more than what I like (I am NOT a vinegar of any kind fan). The Caprese Salad was outstanding. The tomatoes fresh and firm, the mozzarella firm, fresh, and had a nice creaminess to it. The addition of green olives, and parmesan cheese cubes made this one of the Caprese Salads I have had in a long time. I will order it again. The soup/salad arrived. Hubbies split peas soup was thick and creamy, not pretty, but oh sooo good. I had ordered my salad with Blue Cheese dressing and no onions. It arrived with no onions, but also with a oil & vinegar dressing. Ooops, we all make mistakes. Our waitress promptly brought the correct salad. The waitress then asked hubby if he would like the salad as she really didn't like the idea of wasting food. He loved the oil and vinegar dressing. It seems that we are kinda stuck in a rutt. When we try a 'new' Italian restaurant, we both have our 'favorites' we order 1st. We use these as an overall standard to see where on our list of favorites this falls. Hubby ordered the Lasagne, this came with a 'side' of spaghetti with meat sauce. I ordered the Alfredo. My thought when the plates arrived was who was going to help eat all this???? The lasagne serving more than adequate for a large hungry man, and the side of spaghetti more than the main servings I have seen in other restaurants. Flavor on both of these was good, hubby brought both his leftover lasagene and speghetti home. (He does not usually take leftovers home, so it must have been good). I was pretty sure that I had been given a double serving of the Alfredo. This bowl was HUGE. As the menu states, the pasta was Al Dente, perfect. The Alfredo sause was smooth, creamy and tasty. Just so very much of it. I have enough 'leftovers' for a full serving. More hot out of the oven crusty rolls and soft butter were served with the meal. We completed out meal with Cannollis. The filling was smooth and creamy, a generous portion as well. This is right at the top of my list of best cannolis around. Our waitress paid enough attention to our talbe that she brought refills on our drinks when they were below the 1/2 gone level. Great attention to detail. Bottom line is that we WILL return. Its a sad day for us... We visited Angelos Pizza to check out the new décor and have one of our favorite pizzas. We ordered and spent the next 15 minutes or more watching the pizza maker ( Manny) talk to a friend who was drinking beer at the pizza bar? I have never seen a set up where the person making pizzas is so distracted. He actually tossed a whole pizza dough right on the floor? I don't know what happened to it? We sat in amazement and even commented to the server that he hasn't stopped jabbering since we walked in. Our pizza came which as an Angelos special crispy crust cut in squares. All of the ingredients were piled up in the middle .The crust was so saturated with moisture that is was burned black but limp and wet. The taste was awful. It was like wet tar paper. Angelo happened to walk by our table. We asked him to look at the pizza and see if he found it acceptable. He did and said he would have no problem eating it. He said it was our fault because we ordered it. He said he would make a new one or we could just leave. We asked for our check even though we hadn't eaten it and she said that Angelo said good bye and we should leave. I can only take that as his way of telling us he doesn't need our business. Ate at Angelo's late Saturday afternoon. We ordered pizza which was very good. There was a lot of toppings and the crust was delicious. It was a little crowded and the service was poor. One waitress to take care of the whole room is ridiculous. She was very nice and apologetic but the fact still remains the service is poor. Another night we came with another couple and had a different waitress who screwed up the order and brought shrimp parm instead of chicken parm. The place is reasonably priced and was very clean. Went to Angelo's on Saturday night with friends.. Had not been there for quite a few years and was sorely disappointed. The noise level was extreme, tables crowded in like cattle .We had to shout to hear each other even when sitting that close. Might be a good take out place or if you don't mind kids screaming and running around. Food was ok. Calzone was watery and ham chunks were huge inside not easy to eat. Friend said lasagna was good and chicken marsala was not the best not much chicken Pizza looked good and might try that at another quieter time. read more

I have driven past this place for over 20 years and never stopped. When the Aldi next store opened up, I looked inside and saw a 60 seat restaurant that was very busy. I decided to try it the next time we are out Verdict? Hands down, the best Italian restaurant in Pasco County...not even close. When we sat down, I sampled the table grated Parmesan...That was the first indication...no Kraft cheese here. When the bread came out, that was the second indicator...fresh, crisp authentic italian bread. The dozen clams oreganato made me close my eyes and savor each bite. They are straight out of little Italy in NY. These aren't tiny little chopped up clams. They were fresh clams, a perfect size, not some tiny little clams. The antipasto for one, could serve two, and the quality of the meats was over the top..Fresh greens and marinated vegetable, and chunks of imported cheese. Wee ordered the Pasta Primavera special. The Al Dente penna combined with fresh sautéed vegetables, and light sauce, had us mmmmming with every bite. The ministrone soup was home made, had an abundance of flavor and vegetables. Wee shared it, and it vanished in just a couple of minutes. The pizza was the finishing touch. Just a medium plain cheese, but the crust was perfect, amount of cheese just right, and the sauce is to die for. They brought us out some garlic and oregano to sprinkle on it. The bill $54. I have spent $60 at the Olive Garden for generic uninteresting italian food. Wee will go back here again and again. The next time? When we don't want to blow $50.. Never again. This was our third time eating here and it was our last. The first time we ate there the pizza was awesome and the service was sooooo slow; we stood there over five minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We decided to give them a second try and this time the service was phenomenal and the pizza, once again, was awesome. Fast forward to our third time there. The service was abysmal and the pizza was a gross, greasy mess of yuck. When we walked in, there were a total of three tables occupied and one of the tables already had food. We stood there and stood there and stood there. Finally I just yelled out to someone in the back if we could just sit anywhere. Then a server came into the dining area three times, walked past our table twice, and never said a word. Did not greet us, tell us someone would be with us in a minute, nothing. From the time we walked in to the time we received our pizza, was ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES. Seriously? How freaking long does it take to make a pizza, when only a total of THREE other tables are occupied? There were tables that came in after us that had already eaten and received their bill. I work in Dunedin and live in New Port Richie. On my way home from work I wanted an easy dinner. I stopped in to purchase a side of alfredo sauce. My family has been going to this restaurant for 15 years. Im older now but i remember being a teenager and going there. To my surprise, I asked for a side of alfredo sauce. The owner said to me that is something that is made to order, and we are busy right now. He had no idea who he said that too. I have a huge family in paso county we are from NY. I will be letting all my family know. The funny thing is I am married to a chef. I went home upset and told him, he made me the sauce for my pasta. I was a customer there for 15 years, I have spent a lot of money there. I was basically told i will not sell you this right now im busy. Shame on you, shame on you as an owner. We ate here expecting a lot because of the reviews. We got mozzarella sticks, eggplant fries, and a pizza. The mozzarella sticks weren't hot, the cheese inside wasn't melty. The eggplant fries were fine. The pizza was an overcooked mess. The spinach seemed like frozen chopped spinach that had been freezerburned; it didn't cook down like spinach should but just got super dry and had a weird smell. The crust was really hard and tough. I see a lot of people saying the crust is crunchy here. I like a nice crunchy pizza crust-- I really do. But this pizza crust was incredibly hard and I could barley saw through it with a knife and with TMJ issues I couldn't bite through it at all. We said something to the waitress and she told us that was how it was supposed to be, and if we didn't want it hard we could order it less cooked and have it come out "partly raw" next time. Those were her words, I'm not even kidding. I told her that I would prefer fully cooked dough. They gave us $5 off our uneaten pizza. We had taken a few slices and picked at them hoping for edible parts but if we had reassembled everything on the pan we'd have eaten less than two full slices total. I ended up paying $40 including tip for a meal where basically only one appetizer was decent. I am also just shocked at the service we received when I nicely complained about the pizza. Please, please don't tell more customers that if they don't want hard, overcooked dough they should ask for it raw! That's absurd. read more

Absolutely the worst dining experience I have personally ever had. Took my 2 sons and their girlfriends to dinner, not only did they manage to mess up our pizza order, our drink order, and our appetizers, I ordered chicken marsala and it was THE WORST most bland thing I have ever eaten across all 50 states Mexico and Canada. I didn't eat more than one bite. Our side salad orders were wrong and we were missing a salad that we had to fully explain to the waitress why she still owed us one more because she wasn't going to give it to us. And the side of soup wasn't hot. Though the alcoholic beverages kept coming steadily, nobody once offered to refill the water that my son's pregnant girlfriend ordered that was empty before our entrees even arrived. Calamari was cooked as if it were a fresh slab of tire; chewy, bland, and not even more than lukewarm. The pizza was lacking on the sauce and the TWO toppings were NOT the way we had asked them to be. I mean how hard is it to mess up a pepperoni pie with mushrooms on half.... We were the only customers sitting down to eat in the restaurant for the majority of our meal, so many overlooked mistakes definitely could not have been due to a dinner rush. To top it all off our tab was $115 and we left $125 which we all thought was adequate considering the offensively bad service and terrible food we received. BUT WAIT, the waitress followed us outside to the parking lot after us to remind us that we had ONLY left her a 10$ tip and wanted us to give her more money. read more

They used to be really good. Was out of the area for few years and when came back decided to try again. Was horrible and no customer service. Waitress got upset when we told her the calzone we ordered was not good. The dough was raw on the inside and the ricotta cheese was cold. Was suppose to have ham. If you take one slice you get out of a package at the grocery store it was half. Ok one thing not much ham and you are paying for it. To have raw dough and cold ricotta cheese not good at all. She sent the owner who cooked the item over to our table. He was very rude and said this is the way we make them. Now they had already taken back to the kitchen never brought back or offered anything different and made us pay for the calzone. So we ended having to go somewhere else to eat, after we paid for a meal there! read more
