We were excited to try Angelo's, since it was our first time exploring Italian in this part of town. We ordered via DoorDash for convenience, and while the menu looked promising, the ordering process was confusing. For the ravioli, the app required two dressing selections. It wasn't labeled as a salad, but the options clearly suggested that's what it was for. Then a second required selection popped up--again with dressing choices--but this time it included "sub house soup," which led us to believe it was a soup-and-salad combo. After all, who selects two salads? When I arrived for pickup, I asked about it and was told by Patrick that the second selection was for "extra dressing." That wasn't clear at all from the app, and when I mentioned the confusion, the response felt dismissive. Rather than acknowledging the mix-up or offering a small gesture like including the side salad, I was simply asked to choose one or the other. It wasn't a huge deal, but it didn't feel like great customer service either. The food itself was okay. I paid extra for additional sauce on the chicken francese, but it didn't seem like there was any more than usual. Our pizza also wasn't well done as requested, which was disappointing. That said, my mom really enjoyed the chicken and dumpling soup--definitely a highlight. Overall, not a standout experience for us, but perhaps it was just an off night. I live only a few blocks from this place and have been ordering from them for years. They made some positive changes to the service and the menu right around the time of COVID but they've scaled some back and are starting to break under the pressure. They charge you extra to pick up your own pizza, they switched the online ordering probably to save money and it only works half the time. They will always be 20 to 30 minutes late making a pizza and they will never address or take accountability for anything. I love the pizza but I made them eat the last one I will ever order. If the guy had offered any kind of apology I wouldn't have written this review. The fact is that he shouldn't be running a business he should be making pizzas for someone that knows how. BTW drove to the new Marcos and after waiting here for 1/2 an hour and got a pizza for half the price in half the time. Greetings Angelo...our 2nd visit to your place while staying at quality in right down the street in last 6 months. This visit 1/6 was disappointing. Lets start with ordering; we made a phone call which tried to steer us to order online, however the prompts permitted us to actually talk to someone there. We ordered a small NY pizza with eggplant and was immediately told "NO eggplant on SMALL only large" seriously??? WHYYYYYY??? (had a flashback to SNL skit "no coke, only pepsi). Learned a while ago to not argue with "company policy" in whatever form. My wife wanted medium wings, extra ranch dressing. Go to pickup, counter guy showed me the pizza and assumed the customary napkins, cutlery, red pepper flakes and grated parmesan for pizza plus extra ranch would be included. They assured me extra ranch was in there.. even tipped in CASH!! Got back to room, opened the wing container NO RANCH whatsoever, same for expected cheese, pepper and at least napkins for the pizza.. Went in and ordered a pizza and rice balls. We've eaten here before and the food is always delicious. When picking up my food, I watched the girl touch my pie to take it out of the pan, and then use her bare hands to put the basil on the pie. I asked her ..you aren't going to wear gloves, she replied I wash my hands.. Oh ok.. Well she touched her face and hair 2x before she packed my food. I am a bit turned off by this. I can only imagine what they are doing in the back kitchen. Do better train you employees. Department of heath says you are supposed to wash your hands after you touch your face, arms, hair any non food surface. I've been in the food industry for 40 years and this is unacceptable. I am aware of the difference food safety regulations in a pizza place. But touching your hair ,face, ringing up another customer and then touching the fresh basil you are putting on my pizza is unsanitary. A bit more food safety training is needed. A bustling place for dinner on a Friday night. When we arrived, there was a wait, but the line moved along quickly. We started off with the Cajun dry rub wings. Excellent by the way. Combined with the ranch sauce, the heat of the Cajun rub melts beautifully. We ordered a large pizza pie with onions and mushrooms. The pizza is good. A pretty good find for a local pizza and other spot. I had the caesar salad and a spinach Rollo which is a housemade specialty. Yes, it was delicious, but I was a little on the hungry side so could've eaten at least two of them. I suppose I imagined it being more of a calzone in size. Just spent $25 on a deluxe with nearly no cheese. The little bit that may have been there was all in the middle. Big red edges. Onions not fully cooked. I'm done. We are always looking for a good Italian Restaurant in Citrus County. We came here for lunch - there was a sign about being short staffed and I am appreciative of how hard they were all working with the staff they had. My husband ordered Spaghetti and Sausage and a side salad. He thought his meal was 'ok'. I had two slices of cheese pizza and a drink. The pizza is very thin which I like, but I prefer more sauce (spread further out). We will go back and give it another try possibly for dinner. read more

You lost me. I get that there's some inflation this year, but when you don't offer anything larger than a 16 inch at nearly $16, when you used to get a giant xlg pizza for less than that, you take the average family's ability to enjoy your pizza. I measured mine tonight and my 16 inch was about 13 inches and was a very light cook. That's not worth the price anymore, so we'll have to go to moschellos where they charge $2 less for a pizza of equal quality. Been going here for years, and this is highly disappointing, but I honestly feel like I was taken advantage of. read more
