As soon as you walk in the friendliest lady filled my order for a deli sandwich.. I didn't know what I was in for the sandwich took me to my happy place. The price is nothing compared to the quality ingredients. The service was wonderful. I opted for the chicken salad sandwich and that chicken was not canned.. it's in the taste. I'm definitely coming back for another sandwich and bringing friends along. This is definitely a gem to just stumble across. The place reminded me of the bodegas in New Jersey and New York. Definitely recommend to stop in and the best part? There were other customers and when the sweet lady recognized them by name I was all in. I'm coming back for sure

My husband ordered a sub sandwich, my friends husband a sausage sandwich, my friend eggplant, i had spagetti marinara. The noodles were mush and cold and tasted so bad, were were afraid of food poisoning and left everything. The pastries were not refrigerated and needed be, the cookies were not from there fresh baked they were from Flora foods repackaged. I wanted to buy some ricotta cheese and the owner wanted to charge me $89.00 for two five pound container containers that cost about $15.00 each at one of the warehouses. Other than the drive, fear of food poisoning , not homemade bakery items and price gouging, we learned a good lesson. THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

After seeing how far it was from me, I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to sample . However, I found myself in a situation where I felt I could make the 30 minute (each way) drive. I was a little disappointed as I pulled into the parking lot got as, the building isn't exactly easy on the eye. But, I didn't let that sway me. Got there at about 12:15pm on a Thursday and saw lots of activity coming and going. There would about 3 or 4 people in front of me and I waited. As I waited, I watched. There didn't seem to be an efficient work flow in the kitchen. A lot of running back and forth instead of having things "right there". This translated into long service times. Got down to just one person in front of me and things stalled even more as there was much talking about this and that. The line behind me grew to about 10 people. If it wasn't so hot outside I believe the line would have gone out the door. I'll admit that I just about gave up as it probably was close to 15 minutes before taking my order. But, I stayed put. Angelo took my order of an Italian Combo and asked if I wanted it "All The Way". Always. However, I understand that "All The Way" means different things to different people but, I'm good to experience it, "however Christina's of Bellevue " sees it. Angelo was quick to clarify, however, that, "All The Way" meant having mayonnaise on the sandwich and, seeing me with my New York Mets hat on, wanted to be sure that's what I wanted or to just have "sub sauce" on it. Any respecting Italian Combo eater knows that putting mayo on this type of sandwich is an absolute travesty, and Angelo picked up on that he was dealing with an expert. Not exactly sure what "sub sauce" is but, let's go with it. Wasn't as long of a wait in the construction of the sandwich as I thought and I paid my cash (only btw) and was out the door for the 30 minute treck to west Ocala. I was happy at the butcher paper and masking tape wrap. I don't know why this matters, it just does! I unwrapped the sandwich and was pleased to see some soggyness. I realize that some people don't appreciate this type of thing but, I usually order by Italian combos with extra vinegar just for the soggyness. A little disappointed in the bread at first glance as it did not contain sesame seeds and was a little soft, soggyness not withstanding. Bread being the number factor in a good sandwich and, clearly the area is challenged in that respect. I dove in. The overall taste was very good. I would suggest to explain that the sandwich contains sweet banana pepper rings. I like that but, would be informative for the buyer to know that the sandwich is coming this way and perhaps give them the choice of hot or sweet pepper rings, or none at all. There was a sweet undertone to the sandwich beyond the sweet pepper rings and, I'm not sure if this was from the "sub sauce". I would make this my main criticism on the overall taste of the Italian combo. Make a "dressing" of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt/pepper/oregano/basil.....maybe a squirt of lemon juice, and that's what should be the "sub sauce". It did have a "store bought" quality to it. Nonetheless, I devoured both halves extremely quickly. Fair price at $11. Give it a try but, bring your patience and cash. Yes, I concur, best I've had in the area!!!!
