Another great meal at Angelo's. I've been coming here since 1997 and it has been great every time. During certain visits we've had to wait - and I mean WAAAAIIIIT! And it's not going to be cheap. But there is a certain nostalgia that goes with the experience that takes one back to better times. The food is always consistently good, service too, and the decor is nothing fancy, but it gives license to just chilling over a meal. I like that. Not only was Angelo's Steak Pit an incredibly delicious restaurant, it's customer service is second to none. The 7 oz Lady Top Round Steak was cooked to perfection and expertly seasoned with drinks made to match. The Golden Steer is very much worth the hype. More so than that, we had accidentally left a phone behind at the restaurant as it was closing. We returned after the restaurant had closed hoping to retrieve it. The store owner himself, Mr. Butchikas and his employee Miss Kelly searched for it themselves and found it for us. Definitely make reservations! This place is crazy busy! We were seated immediately at our reservation time. We were promptly served by a charming young woman. Cheese curds appetizer was melt in your mouth delicious. However, when our steaks arrived, none of the 4 were cooked medium rare as we requested. Ribeye and sirloin were well done with the sirloin almost tough. The filets were closer to correct but still overcooked. Our server graciously offered to have the kitchen make more correctly. We sent back the sirloin and ribeye. As 2 of our party ate their dinner, the other 2 waited for 40 minutes for replacement steaks to arrive. For the cost, don't get drawn in by the hype and Big Gus out front. The food, when cooked correctly, is so-so at best. read more

Recently took a get away weekend trip with just myself, my wife, and our toddler grandson. This establishment was top choice during the hay day years of PCB but honestly it's lost the magic touch. The steak was dry and way over-cooked for my wife! The chicken is no longer avaiable how it was cooked and that was the selling point for me but what was shocking is the cost of the kids meal. I understand rising prices but $16 for a kids meal in this area is not for everyone. Hard to accept this place has lost the touch but sadly the meal was a big disappointment. It's overrated unfortunately but it has great advertising. The giant bull out front is a great landmark and great for taking pictures with. The inside has a lot of seating and a great atmosphere. I can't believe this place has such high reviews...Went here for my husband's aunt's 50th birthday. Upon walking in...it looked like it was stuck in the 70's, it had a western theme...It wasn't horrible...but definitely not really a nice steakhouse vibe either. The waitress was friendly at first, brought our menus...I was pretty surprised to see the prices on their kids menu...15-17ish dollars. Seemed a bit much for some of the choices (burger, chicken fingers, etc) I ordered the Ladies sirloin and it came with a salad and baked potato. The salad was brought out first...it looked like a bag of salad was dumped in the bowl (like literally a bag that had been sitting in the refrigerator for a week) and they threw 1 slice of cucumber, and 1 grape tomato...I was not impressed. lol The ranch dressing was the only thing redeeming about the salad. The waitress took quite a while bringing our drinks. Then we were brought our dinners...it didn't take too terribly long...but again...For the price we paid, it was horrible. The baked potato was hard on the inside...not light and fluffy like a baked potato should be. The steak was mediocre...I probably could have made much better at home. At least it was cooked decently..I ordered medium, and it came medium. My son had ordered the kids steak burger. He got it and after he had taken one bite said how dry it was. His uncle tried it, and said it was horrible...said the bread was stale, the beef literally tasted like it was old, and it was "as tough as a shoe." We sent it back...the waitresses attitude with our table immediately changed. She got really rude...like she was frustrated. It obviously wasn't her fault...but come on now...No need to be rude because we're sending food back to the kitchen. While we were there, we were hearing happy birthday being sung to customers in other parts of the restaurant. I guess the others in our party had let the restaurant know that it was somebody in our parties 50th birthday. They didn't bother to do anything special. Then they were talking about it at the table while the birthday girl had went to the bathroom. I guess the waitress had overheard. So she brought a piece of pie over (mind you...the birthday girl was still in the bathroom) She sat it down on the table and lit the candle while she wasn't even sitting there. It was very strange. Like for real, why would you do that? Then she was very hurriedly getting all of our checks and evidently wasn't happy with the tips she had gotten...our table tipped her between the different checks nearly $50....now service wasn't good...and I feel like it's more than she deserved...but that seemed to set her off even more...I heard her comment " That's crazy". Y'all, take your business elsewhere...Texas Roadhouse would have been a much better choice with much better food and better service and probably a better price too. read more

We had to wait for a table but we're not upset by it because there is a general store to shop at as well as a bar to order a pre dinner drink. We stopped at the the bar and got exceptional service from Jason! He was friendly and engaging. He made recommendations which included the house whiskey, Big Gus. We took his recommendation and ordered an old fashioned which came in a cool take home souvenir glass and was delicious! I believe the other bartender was RJ who made our drinks and he did a fabulous job. The ambience at the bar area is warm and inviting. Dinner was fantastic!! The filet is always ( not our first time of ordering it) cooked exactly as ordered and so tender it can be cut with a butter knife! The onion rings were yummy as an appetizer. Tourist trap! A mediocre place for steaks that was too dry and flavorless. Come on a busy peak seasons. You will be waiting 60-90mins for a table. And wait another hour to get your food. No reservations taken over the phone. Going anywhere else you will be waiting long but if the food worth it. I would be okay waiting. But the foods here were disappointing. Our waitress and server was very nice and attentive. Of course being the last table was part of it. So come at a better time. We couldn't have been more disappointed. My son ordered a sirloin medium. (Came out well done twice!!) myself a filet mignon medium rare which came cooked correct. I of course waited to eat until his was corrected the third time time. By that time may as well had ordered a PBJ Proper CUSTOMER SERVICE should've reworked both and then some. Angelos is one of those places we have to go to whenever we are in PCB. Their garlic bread is worth fighting over even if they will bring you more every time you ask. Their steaks are better than the bread. The sirloin is as tender as most steakhouse rideye. The New York strip is by far my favorite there and one of my top 2 or 3 steaks every year and I love and seek out good steak. The ribeye and filet are tender a flavor packed and are my older son's and wife's favotite. Salads are solid with fresh made dressings. The fried shrimp are good but this is a STEAKHOUSE. This place has been hyped up since I was a kid. Today, I finally visited for the first time with my family. We were told 25 min wait, which was fine. However, we were skipped over and had to visit the hostess around 35 mins. After sorting it out, we were promptly seated. Not a big deal. We waited probably 5-10 mins for a server to approach the table. It honestly felt like she wanted us to get out as quickly as possible. It wasn't a welcoming tone at all. She quickly took our drinks and food orders. My mother in law asked about an item on the food menu. The server shrugged and said "it's fine, I guess". As each person ordered, she said in a harsh tone "menu please!" The food was mediocre at best. I ordered a medium ribeye that was cooked properly based on color, but it seemed to have been left sitting out far too long after being cooked. It was tough, not very flavorful, and getting cold. I wouldn't say it was bad, but I could have cooked a much better meal at home for the price. Everyone in our party of 8 had similar feedback ranging from not good at all to meh. If the price was more reasonable, I wouldn't complain, but you can get a much better meal for the same amount elsewhere. Our last time here, we brought in a group of friends with us and food and service was impeccable. We couldn't wait to come back. Fast forward we decided to stop by for dinner since we haven't been able to the last couple times we were in Panama. Let's just say we left full but definitely not satisfied. We came in within the first hour they opened just because we knew they were going to get busy. Which they did. Hostess and wait staff standing at the entrance were super friendly. Our actual waitress seem kinda timid and not very friendly. We could tell she may have been new. Ordered our food and was most looking forward to the crab claws which has increased in price since the last time we visited. No biggie. Inflation. We also ordered onion rings, our steaks, and soup and salad that came with. Upon receiving our crab claws we were very surprised. In my picture you will see why! We practically received almost half of what we received compared to last year. And the picture from last year was taken after some have already been eaten.. So the price was increased AND the amount was reduced. We were definitely taken aback. Not to mention they were cold and the cocktail sauce was still frozen in the center. Cannot make that up.. Onion rings were massive and very cool to look at. Crunch was almost spot on but they were greasy. The batter seems light but maybe oil wasn't hot enough leaving them heavy with oil. Also does not come with a sauce.. which I forgot. Wish they would've came with a horseradish sauce or similar to cut the grease. They needed it. Clam chowder is okay. Comes with a basket full of crackers. The salads come dressed already which, again, I forgot and comes dressed pretty heavily. Our steaks though were cooked perfectly. I do wish they had a little more char but other than that the inside temp was on point. The quality of my steak I could question the grade of. I felt it would have been more of a select grade than choice. It was extremely chewy and I had to force myself to swallow some bites. Had to cut off a piece of silver skin as well as undesirables within the steak.. Wasn't very happy about that. Salt was also lacking.. We NEVER use steak sauce but my husband had to ask for some. I had some salt on the side to dab my steak bites in. Waitress wasn't very attentive and again seem somewhat timid even though we never did or said anything to make her feel any type of way. We assumed she was new so we made sure not to be complicated in any way. Holy heck, talk about a good steak. I was very happy with my visit to Angelo's. I had the New York strip, loaded baked potato and side salad. The steak was huge, cooked perfect and seasoned well. First time at Angelo's. My wife has been a few times. We're locals, so always looking for a new place to try. There were six of us for dinner. We went on Saturday night around 5:30 and didn't have to wait. My wife and I both had the Sirloin. The salads and dressing were good. The Texas toast was simple but worked very well with butter. We both had the baked potato which was also good. The Sirloin was cooked as requested. The steaks did have the signature wood grill taste which was very pleasant. Overall, the steak was good. It can't be compared to a filet, but was tender and good flavor. The filet was a bit pricey and too large for my wife. The only complaint at the table was the fried shrimp had a very heavy batter. The waitress did mention the heavy batter when it was ordered. Of course, it's all relative. Overall, a good experience and the waitress was very pleasant and attentive. read more

I got the new york strip with a salad and mac n cheese($43). It looked so good but the salad was DROWNED in dressing, the meat had this weird chemical/smokey(not in a good way) taste, and the mac n cheese tasted like what they give you in jail. They said they cook it over an open fire so I think it's just them cooking everything so fast and not really controlling the fire.
