Quinoa bowl

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Views: phenomenal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: excellent. Food: the quinoa bowl was a total miss. I would never order it again. The chicken Caesar salad, however, was a total success. Prices are fair. If you're staying at the hotel, definitely check it out!

Although not advertised from the outside that we could see, this gem is inside Springhill Suites and exceeded expectations. We went for a late dinner so we missed what would undoubtedly be a phenomenal view, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is cozy, modern and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar was still full of life but we opted to sit at a nearby table to ourselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were immediately greeted by the friendly chef Jamal. He let us know the kitchen was closing soon but we would be well taken care of and he wasn't kidding. We took his recommendations and ordered grouper tacos and the grouper entree. Espresso martinis- delicious, pretty sweet, chocolate drizzle in the glass and a cream and chocolate shavings garnish. Tasted like a boozy dessert in a glass. Grouper tacos: great flavor, great portion size, cooked and seasoned perfectly. 9/10. Grouper entree: phenomenal. Way better than expected. Large portion of grouper atop the most delicious shrimp and grits- this dish was off the charts. Highly recommend and it'll be hard to top during the rest of our stay. Service was wonderful, we enjoyed talking to the chef and got our food very quickly. Overall we highly recommend this spot- ignore the nasty reviews that talk about bad service- they were understaffed for a minute and it's been resolved and you will not be disappointed!! We will absolutely return here!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Want a nice dinner with a gorgeous view of ocean and the sunset? This hidden gem is in the Springhill Suites in PCB.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ***CALL FIRST***for the coupon code so you don't have to pay to park. Parking is in the hotel garage. RESERVATIONS recommended. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We met family here and were all surprised by the vibe and view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did make reservations ahead of time. If you time it right, you can hopefully have a great view of the sunset. You can tell they have been working on making this a fine dining experience. The bar had plenty of seating. Service was a little slow as they only had on server and you could tell they are trying to adapt to a larger table number. She did get help when it got real crowded. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was live entertainment (Tuesday night), Lori Ubowski, and she can sing and play all ranges/genres of songs. It was not too loud so we could still talk at our table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now for the food...the best I had our entire trip. We had truffle fries to start, which were great. I got the Salmon which was mouthwatering and cooked perfectly on a cedar plank. My husband and another had the filet which they gave raving reviews of. The last person got the taco special which was good and plenty to eat. She did say they were a little spicy. Server did say they were changing/updating the menu soon. They are doing great with their updates. Can't wait to go back and see what they have done.

Amazing! Pulled pork.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, greater location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Crazy how great this place is, but how empty it was when we were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Granted, it was New Year's Day, but it was worthy of a larger crowd. Amazing food and awesome people with great service. Check it out! They do validate parking FYI.

Light and airy feel, even when bustling.

I hate to say it, but the majority of hotel bars and restaurants seem pretty meh to me. That is not the case with the Compass. To keep it simple: friendly staff, solid cocktails, and a great view. Compass Kitchen is also the location of the Springhill Hotel's complimentary breakfast which was better than average as well. The morning crew was no less friendly and kept all the food offerings stocked, hot, and fresh and the arts clean. Things to know: * Grits are not always served, but the biscuits and gravy were nothing to complain about. * Non-hotel guest parking seems scarce, which is not unusual for Panama City.

The food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view was gorgeous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Make sure you take your tag number and use the QR to sign in and they will give you a code so you don't have to pay for parking. We did 2 hours and it was plenty of time. We will be returning.

Grouper on grits is solid. Good food in the food desert that is Panama City. Bartenders are pretty cool.

Very yummy and refreshing. Food: Steak Tacos, Carnitas Nachos and El Pollo Tacos, Queso and Chips Steak taco was a little bit chewy but the flavor was very good. The El Pollo Taco had great flavor and our friend who was eating this taco loves hot stuff so the owner brought over some hot sauce that they make in house and said friend said it was wonderful....I tried just an itty bitty taste and my mouth was burning...eeeeek!! My favorite was the carnitas nachos....so flavorful and I loved the pickled onions and black beans on the nachos. Queso was nice and thick and had a little kick to it. Chips came out warm and plenty in the basket for sharing. We ordered their Street Corn and Chips and ate that when we got back home and it was my all time favorite. Perfection!! I would drive over to their restaurant just to order the Street Corn and Chips to go. We will be back and we recommend 100PC!!

I had better customer service at fast food today, than this place that charges $7 for a taco!

Juan's Tacos is on the ground level of Laketown Wharf, where I stayed in a condo for six weeks…read more During that time, I had the absolute pleasure of grabbing tacos there multiple times. My first visit, I tried one Chicken and one Chorizo taco. The Chorizo was fantastic, but the flavor of the Chicken completely surprised me. Over the next few weeks, I tried the Pork Belly, the Birria, and the Shrimp. All were excellent. The shrimp was plump, the Birria was tender, and if I had to pick a favorite, the Pork Belly probably takes the win. One thing about all of Juan's tacos, they pack them so full the filling barely fits in the tortilla. On my last visit, I went with one Pork Belly taco and one Chicken taco. The staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is just fun. While I was down there, Juan was in the process of opening his new location. He'd posted a bunch of videos on social media about it, and he really comes across as a genuinely great guy. I wish him and his whole team nothing but the best. Juan Love!!!

When you walk in, it is an order at the counter and seat yourself setup, which gives it a fast food kind of vibe. The menu consists of laminated sheets near the register, which already made the place feel a bit underwhelming. The prices were honestly shocking. One taco was over $6, and all sides and drinks are separate. We ordered a side of chips and salsa and queso, along with a burrito, a kids taco, a steak taco, and a bowl. One odd thing was the lack of basic toppings or modifications. There was no sour cream, no olives, and strangely no lettuce. After we sat down, we noticed a kids corner, which was nice. However, there were no high chairs, which made it inconvenient. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. While we were getting settled and grabbing drinks, the ice ran out and the sodas were flat. The chips, queso, and salsa came out first, and that was one of the worst parts of the experience. The chips tasted like cheap bagged tortilla chips, and the salsa seemed like it came from a jar. When the main food came out, it was disappointing. Everything was served on flour tortillas, the cheese tasted like mozzarella, and the kids taco was just meat in a tortilla. Everything was extremely salty. My husband could not even finish his burrito. My bowl was especially odd with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and sweet pickled onions. The birria meat was very salty and tasted more like a crockpot roast than anything else. There really was no reason to complain to the staff. I am fine paying for what we ordered, and I do not think there was anything they could have done to make it right. None of us finished our meals, and we will not be going out of our way to come back.
