If the food had been as good as him, this place would definitely be a must-try. But, unfortunately, it felt more like a tourist trap. The food tasted like it came straight out of the freezer and was just reheated. Even the condiments were prepackaged in plastic packets straight from the manufacturer! Went to Pineapple Willy's for dinner. My wife had the shrimp and grits. The Gouda cheese in the grits was delicious. The grilled shrimp was well seasoned. I had the caesar Salad with grilled shrimp . PW's was having 25% off entire menu plus 5-6pm Power Hour with 50% off all food & drinks!! It was amazing! Such a great value for customers. There was a crowd to be sure but the staff at PW's was so prepared. They were efficient in getting everyone seated and getting drinks out to tables. The food soon rolled out and the quality was top notch! I had grouper with pineapple salsa which was perfectly cooked. What a deal! Hats off to front & back of house staff. No complaints from us! My dad recommended PWs so we stopped in for lunch. The space is massive and it was super windy outside so we went for the inside seating where we still got to enjoy the views but in peace. Our waitress was fabulous! We tried some of their signature drinks in their refillable cups that we got to take home which will remind us always of the great time we had. We even got to use them again at Wicked Wheel for an economical refill - what a treat!! For our meals: my fiance got the bucket of ribs. He was very pleased with his choice. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and it was a fantastic choice! The best part was the speedy service. We hardly waited a second for our food. We were so impressed. A must visit for the crowd, the ambiance overlooking the sea, the excellent service and very good food & beverage despite the 45 minute wait. They operate at top efficiency. It seem like this place appeals to the tourist crowd but I like it! There are three separate places built into one located on the beach. A souvenir shop, bar and restaurant all tied in together! We came here as a group of 8 and got seated within 20 minutes even though the line was long. Before I set down, I had to get a large drink in a souvenir cup. It was good! Our food was good and nobody had any complaints. I especially enjoyed my blackened shrimp. The waiter did a fantastic job of managing our table considering his work load. Beautiful views from the pier, delicious food, and fantastic service! Excellent service once we got seated. Waited around 20 minutes even with a reservation, but it looked like many people didn't make reservations waited about longer. If you do go as it's a pretty famous tourist spot, make a reservation. The positives? Grilled grouper was fresh and tasty, good service. The reasons I cannot recommend? First, when I spend 38$ on an entree I expect real silverware, not plastic utensils. Plus, styrofoam cups for water or soda?? Also , the portion size was small for the price. Last, the POLICE PRESENCE!!! I've never been to a restaurant where police needed to be stationed in the outdoor bar area and outside on the street. We were in town in vacation and everyone kept telling us we had to go to pineapple Willys. When we got there it was quite a wait for outside and no wait for inside so we were promptly seated inside. Pineapple Willy's is just a place to come to for the chill beach vibes! I mean come on it's right on the sand, you are basically viewing the beautiful beach sipping good drinks! The food was very basic, which we didn't mind because we could tell upon arriving. We ordered black pepper mahi mahi Caesar salad and the Po' boy shrimp roll. We had to get a souvenir cup, so we got the medium size with frozen daiquiri (blue raspberry and pina colada). Refills are 10 bucks! On the way out, I stopped by their souvenir shop! So many cool shirts to choose from, I just had to get the iconic shirt with the pineapple Willy on it!! We will definitely be coming back soon! read more

The 4 of us went on a rainy, busy day around 5pm. We waited in line for about 10 minutes to check in, some of the wait under a cover. Then they sent us to a really big bar area to wait. A server took orders immediately, drinks came really fast. We were amazed the craft beers were only $6! The daiquiri was $12 but fairly large. All drinks came in souvenir cups. We only had to wait 1/2 the 45 min we were originally told before being seated in one of the 4 dining areas. Again a server promptly took drink orders. Hubby & I split the Blackened Mahi with Pineapple Salsa, fries, corn on cob & Texas toast. We added a scoop of pineapple Cole Slaw & skewer of shrimp. All was really tasty except the fries were just average. My sis & hubby split the Shrimp & Grits which came with 2 skewers of shrimp. They said the grits were creamy with a little seasoning which paired well with blackened shrimp. Even with a full restaurant, our server was attentive and cheerful the whole time. Hadn't been to Pineapple Willie's in years but wound up there with our preteen granddaughters. We went for lunch. It had the same great atmosphere and same great service. The gift shop was good. Still selling those legendary tee shirts. That brings us to the food. It was still the same. No culinary skill needed to cook or prepare this stuff. Way over priced for what it is. You can go to any frozen food section of any grocery store and find the same thing. The ribs (their claim to fame) are just baked and smothered in mediocre barbecue sauce. My ribs at home are ten times better. Any barbecue joint across the south has much better ribs. Just because they fall off the bone doesn't mean they're good. There is a fine line between tender and mush. Over all the experience was ok and the girls enjoyed it. But due to food quality and price I can only go with three stars. I'll probably go again next year because the girls will insist. read more
