I'm from Chicago and really think I know my pizza. I will not go to Pizza Hut, Pizza Inn and others where everything comes out of a can. This was my 10th trip to Angelo's for takeout pizza and it was fantastic. The $20 extra-large pizza could easily feed a family of 4 with leftovers. Everything was made from scratch. The dough, sauce and sausage were perfect. I see the owner is there early every morning and I hope that the locals support them. read more

Okay, I've read the other reviews but my experience was different. I had the Lobster Ravioli and it was really good. It was NOT microwaved like the local hillbillies say. The 3 of us had ordered dinner and it took about 20 minutes to prepare. We were the only ones in there one evening after a nice Texas hog hunt. The lady who served us was extremely polite, she has an Albanian accent and is going to have a baby pretty soon. The other nice lady may have been her mother, so this may be a family business. Super nice folks.. They served us hot bread and great spicy sauce (or gravy) and it definitely was NOT microwaved. The ball game was on tv and also country music was playing. We asked if they served alcohol and she apologized and said no, but we could bring in our own wine, beer, etc. That is very rare to find!! read more

Terrible food. I saw a few bad reviews and thought, can't be that bad, we will give it a try. Well, it was worse than I could have ever imagined. Like don't go, you will regret it. Cheese sticks were bad, chicken, Parmesan and chicken Alfredo, all awful. The chicken in Chicken Parmesan was super thin and couldn't even cut it. Tasted old or over cooked, maybe both. I'm just hoping I don't get sick at this point . The chicken in the chicken Alfredo actually looked good but had a bad taste. I saw a few reviews saying they were microwaving things... well, I believe that may be true. Overall, this is some of the worse food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. If you read this and still go, you deserve what you get. read more

After spending years driving by this restaurant we decided to give it a try. On this day we shared the restaurant with one other couple. The restaurant was clean and appeared to be a family dining establishment. The waitperson took our drink order, my husband ordered his usual unsweetened tea and I ordered water with lemon or lime. Immediately I was told that was not available. Even without a lemon or lime the water was acceptable. The bread delivered to the table was stale and borderline overcooked. We decided to split an order of lasagna and a Greek salad. The salad was delivered first, what a disappointment. It was made with spring mix lettuce with a few pieces of sliced black olives, a green onion, a dash of feta cheese and dressing. Not what we expected from a Greek salad. My husband wouldn't eat a second bite. I worked my way through about half of it, hoping it might get better with each bite, it didn't. The lasagna looked appealing. But the first bite indicated otherwise. Just like the bread, the salad, and the service, the lasagna was awful. It's debatable if it contained any ricotta cheese at all. The sauce, meat, and mozzarella cheese was a thin schemer spread on top of noodles, not in between the noodles like one would expect. We both took two or three bites just to confirm what we already knew, this meal was sub par, worst lasagna we've ever eaten at a restaurant. The waitperson never returned to our table to ask if we needed anything or how the meal was. Usually when we visit a restaurant that does not resonate well with us, we will give it another visit at a later date and do another review. This will be an exception, I can't justify the expense. We are going to pass on a second review. We were sadly disappointed in the quality and taste of the food, and the service. I only wish that we had read a few online reviews before stepping into this restaurant. read more

BEST Italian food and the sweetest people! They always offer friendly and accommodating service. I've ordered multiple different things off the menu and have loved every single one of them... making it hard to choose what to eat! Also, the pizza is loaded with toppings, and large. They have the best pizza in Winnsboro hands down. Not sure why others had bad reviews because their food is delicious. Lastly, the ambiance isn't perfect, but it's clean and I'm there for the food anyways!! I definitely recommend Angelo's! read more

I'm in the area on business, The locals rave about Angelo's. But I'm originally from New York and a bit of a hard critic especially when it comes to Italian food. This little town probably isn't the pinnacle of culinary excellence. But I was so surprised at the quality of food. They custom made an eggplant Parmesan sub for me off off menu. And they were so friendly and so happy to do it for me which I immediately appreciated. And it was so great to see someone who Takes so much pride in his cooking, explained how they hand cut the egg plant and hand breaded instead of typically purchased frozen. You can taste the quality, and the cheese they used was also on par, nice rich red sauce it was great I think I'll go back again tomorrow! read more

First, bread was brought to our table. It was warm for a moment then became hard and chewy as if it had been microwaved. The dipping sauce that came with it had a nice tomatoey flavor but no herbs or spices no Italian flavor. We asked for the garlic oil listed on the menu. Very chunky with bits of garlic but the oil had to be generic vegetable oil. No way it was olive oil. I asked the waitress if they had angel hair pasta, they didn't so I got spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. The sauce was the same as the bread sauce with chunks of meat. Meatballs could have been big box supply house frozen. The wife got the calzone. The crust was superb but the filling was non-creative, just sausage and ricotta. Sauce on the side. If the bread had been as good as the calzone crust this would have been a better review. I may go back, hoping that the pizza crust will be good. read more

This was hands down the best Italian food I have eaten. Most of the time when you go to an Italian restaurant...namely the chains that I won't mention by name, but you know who they are, the food is basic, bland and just a slight rise above what you can purchase on a frozen food aisle. Angelo's had the perfect amount of everything...great flavor...and at a great price. The restaurant itself has quaint, hometown, family feel to it. Service was great...friendly and on top of it. We came in with a large group, wedding rehearsal dinner. The staff stood back glaring and making snide remarks. The food was way too greasy and unidentifiable. I ordered the Aristocrat. Supposed to be grilled chicken, eggplant and pasta with a creamy sauce. I got a piece of breaded, greasy processed chicken, the eggplant looked more like the fried remnants from a pan and nothing like actual food. The sauce was so greasy and buttery that I couldn't three bites in and I had to quit. Kids were starving and it wasn't until I requested to submit their orders first as the rest of our group showed up, that they finally suggested bringing out bread.
